Gateway Quarter Parking

A well managed, easily accessible, never filled and reasonably priced parking garage. This has become our default place to park in OTR and I never feel like I’m being extorted. The place is really secure too, with gates and automatic locking doors which actually work so well that it’s kept me from giving them 5 stars.
You have to take your ticket with you when you leave in order to scan it to unlock the doors to get back in, but on three or four occasions we’ve found they didn’t work and we had to walk all the way around the building until you find the lone guard who can let you back in to get your car or call the number posted on the door to get a hold of someone to let said guard know you’re waiting at the door to be let in.
I really like the system of scanning your parking stub to get in the building, but it would be nice if it worked reliably. Fix that and they’ll get 5 stars.

This garage is easily my most favorite in Cincinnati. It’s easy to navigate, safe, has a good location and best of all: it’s affordable!
I find myself in OTR a lot, so this being near to most of the places I go and easy to get to off Vine and 12^th makes this my parking lot of choice — the $ 5 cap on daytime parking and $ 2 nighttime cap certainly help too.
GQP has a lot of safety features too, that I think are nice but possibly a bit excessive. It’s impossible to get into unless you are parking your car or have your parking ticket with you to open the door (DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE YOUR PARKING TICKET!) The entrances have gates over them that open only for cars, and the doors require you to swipe your ticket in order to unlock them and get in.
GQP, as it is now, is probably as good as it gets for a parking lot. I hate giving them a 5-​star as I don’t really get excited about a parking lot, but at the same time I think they deserve it for simply having made a proper parking garage.

I work really close to this parking lot in Over-​the-​Rhine and it’s a decently priced option when I can’t find my favorite street parking spots have been taken.
Also, recently construction crews have been digging up the streets around where I work and parking in this lot is convenient when I can’t find a thing. The lot costs around $ 5 for over 3 hours (and will let you park there for almost 24 hours if you need to) It’s a dollar for the first hour and then goes up and stops at five dollars. I haven’t purchased a monthly pass because I often park on the street, but they only cost about $ 70 a month!
It’s a really open and safe lot. There is a convenient pay machine in the corner and all you have to do is put in your parking space number, insert your cash or credit card, and you’re set to go! I like that it takes credit, but in case you don’t have money there is an ATM right next to the pay machine.
