The place is on the way up. They have new turf which makes the golf MUCH nicer. Still looks like the place could use a good scrubbing, paint and vaccum. Prices are good $ 7 for adult and $ 5 for kids on sunday afternoon. Bathroom needs attention, get rid of all the little. kids riding toys(why are they here???) and clean up all the planting beds and it would be a nice place for dates. I wish them the best.

In the past, the courses have just been okay. They were a bit run down to be honest. Now? They have brand new turf! It’s really decent looking now and a nice place to play some mini golf. The ice cream is okay — mostly soft serve, so it’s your typical creamy whip deal.

Updating this to one star. This place is a disaster for mini golf. I would bulldoze the place and start over. Absolute trash to pay $ 6 for this place. I wouldn’t have fun playing for free if that tells you anything. The course is so mistreated that I wouldn’t spend money for the ice cream. Instead I went to Graeters next door. My reviews are all positive on Unilocal so this is the truth. Save your money and drive somewhere else for fun

Back in 1977, I played Little League baseball sponsored by Northside Tavern. General Custer’s also sponsored their own Little League team. We used to SMASH this team on a regularly basis, and THEN go to Custer’s Ice Cream stand to celebrate, because coach was obnoxious like that. LOL. This place looks EXACTLY the same as it did back then. They don’t appear to have done a damn thing to revamp the place. We played 18 holes of Putt-Putt and I felt like I was in a time capsule. The young cat attending the place was very nice though… so nice that he let some of his buddies in for free. I didn’t want to go, but DMuse already purchased a Groupon and being the Queen of Frugal, there was no damn way she was gonna waste it. She didn’t read the reviews before she purchased it… stuff happens. We didn’t have Ice Cream there though. We went to Orange Leaf on Glenway instead. Orange Leaf is the bomb.

The mini golf courses are in pretty rough shape. I’m not a hugely competitive guy but I do like my putting greens to at least have turf that isn’t rippled and torn and has been replaced in the last 20 years. It’s fine for little kids I suppose since they probably don’t care. I will say, it ways nice to have a frozen chocolate covered banana during the 95 degree heat wave while we were there. All in all a little attention to some maintenance of any kind would be nice.

This place is great! So much fun! Ice cream is delish & the hole sculptures make for great pictures! Staff is very friendly! There are 36 holes available at a very reasonable $ 8.

This place is a living, breathing time capsule. If you loved it as a kid, you’ll love it today because it’s exactly the same. Don’t give me any of that modern, fancy«laz0r-golf» or ice creams served as tiny frozen dots. General Custer’s is the real deal.

The putt course has had some work done to it but it still not in the best conditions… But if you want a good ice cream! They have a ton of flavors and the staff is always very friendly. The prices are very reasonable. The biggest attraction is the fact they have the blue blueberry ice cream! And it is amazing with the twist.

Course is old and in poor condition, rotted wood, bumpy greens, run down looking place.

This place is a west side icon. Come for the golf and stay for the ice cream. The prices are ultra reasonable. This is the only place in Cincinnati to get Dole fruit flavored soft serve. See owners Keith or Kathy. They will take great care of you. You can have your kids birthday there or have an office lunch! They do all kinds of golf outtings! Countless desert options sure to please anyone!

The sign says«General Custer’s Last Ice Cream Stand». The only way the name could be improved is if it was General Custard’s. And then there’s the arcade: General’s Quarters Delightful puns gracing a delightful place which is a west side fixture. Despite being next to the venerable Western Bowl, it shines in its own right. Every little Western Hills kid plays putt putt then gets a big ice cream cone to celebrate. If you’re a putt putt junkie, you can get all-you-can-play for only $ 8.50 to polish your skills on the fake greens, which are always an adventure, what with wear spots, little tears, and the ever present leaves and twigs from the little ones who get bored and start piddling with the landscaping. Even if you don’t play ad infinidum, a quick round of 18 will only cost you $ 6.50. Plus, if that provokes a need for more miniature golf(perhaps you want to play the Sitting Bull course after finishing the Crazy Horse), they’ll usually let you upgrade to the unlimited plan by just paying the extra two bucks. I don’t have kids, so I can’t say this is necessarily a great place for a birthday party, but I can say that I’ve seen many a group of youngsters having an absolute blast running around the courses. But maybe they were just wired from too much ice cream.
