The only bad I can say was the AC. Of course on a «normal» Cincinnati December night I would want this. Once the room got full the temp went up and the sweating began. All else was fine. Got to sit wherever we wanted, drinks are decently priced, and all three comedians killed. I say three because the 5 minutes the mc did was a great warm up for the crowd and then both following acts kept us up there!

Tonight was a lot of fun. Go Banana’s is nice little comedy club tucked in Montgomery. Arriving 40 minutes earlier seemed a bad idea at first, but the seats were great… without being in the front row and putting us at risk of being heckled by the comedian. haha! Service was swift and pleasant as well. We had a bucket of beers that arrived very cold in about 4 minutes. We’ve been here half a dozen times and the comedy is always good but can vary slightly. Tonight was a great show with Al Jackson, who we really enjoyed. Sign up for their mailing list and get frequent free ticket offers. 8/10, will laugh again.

Go Bananas has two advantages over the comedy club in my hometown: it serves food, and it has more space between tables. The disadvantage is if you get seated in the back you may have a pole obscuring your view during the entire performance. It’s a fun place to go for a night out. The comedians that we saw were decent, although they kind of depressed my friend who left fearing that she would end up alone in a crappy apartment eating canned soup like the headliner. There is a $ 3 minimum for food and drinks. They only serve bottled water($ 2), not tap. I ordered chips with salsa and nacho cheese for $ 5. They gave me a big portion of chips which tasted good. My friend ordered the sampler and enjoyed it. FYI, they charge 18% gratuity on all checks. My friend didn’t realize this and ended up paying a tip on top of the gratuity.

For a comedy place the staff was surprisingly unpleasant. People come here to laugh not to be rushed to their seats, ignored by the servers all evening, and given the incorrect change. The surprise $ 3 minimum purchase requirement after you’ve already been seated is somewhat okay, there are other places that do something similar, but an upfront ticket charge of $ 3 or so extra with a free small menu item would be a better way to approach that. Especially given how much the curly haired female server noticeably dreaded explaining how the charge worked. Seriously, if you’re going to go just go when she isn’t working. Her service is an embarrassment to the establishment and anyone who’s worked in food service.

My wife and I went last night and it was a thrill. The guy who went on last was very welcoming and spoke with us after the show. He was not only funny but really intelligent. We wanted to take him home for a threesome. My wife and I had never done that but we just felt like it was the right thing to do. Fortunately, he’ll be playing there all week, so we’re gonna go check him out again. He’s headlining tonight and then opening for Christina Paz the rest of the weekend. There’s also a great bar right next door so you don’t have to go far to hook up with the comic if you want. Or if you just want to buy him a drink. Life’s a funny thing. Sometimes, everything works out. No Gorilla’s have ever been harmed at this club.

I love this Cincinnati local comedy club! I’ve been coming here for years and it’s my best friend and I’s favorite«girls date» location. There are usually three comedians: the MC, opener, and headliner, and usually at least one of them is really good! I always go when I win free tickets or there is a special. The drinks are pretty good, and I always get the soft pretzel with cheese! Service is also quick and efficient each time I go!

This place is a decent time for the money but you can usually score half price tickets if you sign up for the mailing list. It is cramped, especially if you have a group. The food is of the overly priced, frozen/deep fried variety. I suggest eating before you go. Mixed drinks are usually watery but they do have a decent beer selection. Your best deal is on a bucket of beer to share. The wait staff does work hard even if what they are selling is mediocre. Go and have a laugh.

I really like this place. Its fun and close to home and not it the middle of a busy mall. They always offer ticket deals and Wednesday nights are amateur night which is great. The only think I don’t like are the prices of drink and food. Imports are expensive and oddly enough angry orchard is considered an import beer vs domestic despite the fact it’s literally made in this town. The food is directly from a freezer and thrown in oil. Typical bar food. I would love to see some real genuine grub then I’d be happy to pay 6.50 for pretzels.

Tucked away behind Camargo Cadillac is Go Bananas! Do not be scared away by the ill lighted driveway and sketchy dark plaza. Laughter is only around the corner — literally. The place is awesome– why you might ask? FREETICKETGIVEAWAYS and laughs. If you sign up to their email bulletin you can also be a lucky winner to some tickets. The tickets are in packs of 4 so if you get some your friends will also be very happy and make you the cool guy in the group for a evening. The place is quite small and packed but really that only adds to the fun. I would say the venue holds two hundred and fifty people but I am not kidding when I say packed. The food and drinks are standard in terms of bar food and comes out very quick I must say. The biggest draw back i would say is the beer prices are a bit high and on top of that their is a $ 3 minimum for each patron. The easiest way to get over this hurdle is to just get a bucket of beer from their many choices and you are covered. You also do not have to leave your seat except to answer nature. The wait staff are always meandering around the crowded place asking if you need anything. So if you were wondering — you do not ever have to miss a joke. The setting is your standard basement comedy club albeit without the basement. Think«Improv» brick wall background in a musty smoky bar but with Geoff Tate on his vape. Good stuff you might ask … Very good — especially if Geoff Tate is at the helm. BEREADYFOR A LINEANDGETTHEREEARLY… and why am I shouting? Festival Seating! Nobody likes to be in the back and separated from their friends in the peanut gallery.

I’ve been to Go Bananas a handful of times, and have always had a pretty enjoyable time. I actually thought this place was downtown for the longest time, but it’s actually hidden behind some buildings in Montgomery. You really wouldn’t even know it was there unless you were looking for it. The space is your typical comedy club, and they have a lot of reasonably-priced alcohol options. I usually look out for their free/discount night emails, so I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price for a ticket before. Overall, a fun night out if you’re looking for something different.

Finally made it here for the first time last night. A friend did the four free tickets deal, and I’m so glad we got to go along! The club has an underground feel, like you would expect from a comedy club. The tables are packed in tight, but even with people sitting directly in front of us, our view wasn’t really obscured. There’s a $ 3 drink minimum, but there are lots of choices so you won’t be hard pressed to find something you like. The drinks are a little pricey, but not more than you’d expect at a club where that’s their primary source of income. I had the Strawberry Shortcake, which is basically a milkshake with vodka and amaretto, and a Red Headed Slut. They were both good, but not very potent. We also got food, which was good. Pretty standard bar food — mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, etc. It was also kinda pricey, but not unexpectedly so, and it was good so we didn’t mind. The comedians were all really funny. Mostly local. It’s so great so see hometown folks being artsy and helping encourage Cincinnati’s growing reputation as a cultural center!

Second time here last night. Boyfriend and I had a good time. Ticket price was a tad bit expensive but we ended up getting seated in the front, dead center, so we knew we’d get to interact a bit with the comedians which was nice. The show lasted about 2 hours total. There is a $ 3 minimum per person which was no big deal. We didn’t have any appetizers and I was slightly disappointed that the only non fried option was a veggie plate. Drink selection wasn’t bad, and the prices were pretty reasonable for drinks and food. We saw three comics in the two hour period, and they were all good. By the end though, I was super uncomfortable in the chairs they have. They could definitely upgrade the chairs and it would be a more comfortable experience. Overall, it was a fun time for a date night.

If you are looking for some fun with laughter, I strongly recommend Go Bananas! Small comic theater but the artists are quite talented. There is a $ 3 minimum per person — which I feel is relatively cheaper than other theaters like those in NYC which are around $ 10. So definitely makes you feel comfortable. Also remember the Unilocal coupon can only be applied as long as you reserve but NOT prepay online. But the staff was nice enough to reimburse me in cash. Theater itself is quite small but I think it’s great — brings that sense of closeness! The acts were quite entertaining and during weekdays the crowd is usually college night! Food was tasty and for vegetarians — you have options of the fried appetizers — moz sticks, jalap poppers, fries, etc. you can also get pizza if u wanted. Reasonable prices — so u didn’t feel cheated after meeting your minimum. Overall a good place to hit up when in cincy! Had a blast watching Tabare and Saleem Mohammad perform!

I signed up for their email list years ago and just now got around to taking advantage of the 4 free tickets deal. It was a comedian we had seen before and enjoyed, so I knew it would be ‘worth’ it(each person had to spend a minimum of $ 3). The club is a bit off the beaten path. We took a wrong turn and ended up driving through Indian Hill. I was glad for the detour though since we were way early and I had always heard about the neighborhood but never knew where it was. When we got back on the right track, we found the place with no trouble. It’s tucked away in a corner of what I’d normally think of as a bunch of doctors and dentists office, not a comedy club and pub. We killed some time in the pub(McLevy’s), which was dive-y in a good way, complete with vending and cigarette machines. As we were there on a Sunday night, it wasn’t very crowded and we were seated about 4 tables directly back from the stage. I’m under 5′ so I was glad to be able to see for once. All the comedians were funny, but the headliner(Auggie Smith) was hilarious. The best part was that the show started at 8:00 sharp! The worst part was the uncomfortable chairs. Overall would recommend and plan to go again. Especially if they keep giving free tickets out!

I’ve been here 3 times now, thanks to the club promotions that offer 4 free tickets every few months. Love those! The other great thing is that at each show, there are 3 – 4 performers, so that if one absolutely tanks, the others make up for it. I have to say that after seeing 12 comedians there, only one of them seemed to have a rough night, so that’s not even something to worry about. There’s a $ 3 minimum each time, and they have good selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks. And everything is reasonably priced!(One thing I would avoid, though, is the mozzarella sticks… they were pretty blah.) I feel weird giving this place 5 stars because it’s the only real comedy club I’ve ever been to, but judging by things I’ve heard about others and the awesome deals here, I’d say this one is a winner!

I came here a few days ago for the Underbelly comedy sketches that used to be at Southgate House and have recently moved to Go Bananas. I had no idea what to expect since I had never seen Underbelly or been to Go Bananas. I was impressed! We were seated right in front of the stage. We were very close, but the stage is low so I didn’t have to crane my neck up just to see. The waitress was very friendly and stayed on top of things the entire. The chicken, oh that chicken. so juicy and delicious. A friend suggested the chicken tenders on the way in the door, so we obviously had to try it. It was a very nice portion for the price. We also ordered chips with cheese and salsa. Just as you may assume, it was nothing fancy. I did not care for the salsa, however, it had a strange flavor that I just simply do not prefer in my salsa. Also…and this is a big one… they only serve bottle water. Does anyone else think that is crazy? No? Just me? I declined the bottled water at first because 1. I why would I pay for bottled water when I prefer tap and 2. I was very thirsty and didn’t want to purchase three bottles of water just to quench my thirst. Well, I could only hold out about halfway through the chicken tenders before I caved. I ordered a bottle and it was not nearly enough, so I sat that there, insatiated. But I laughed my ass off the entire time and the chicken was fantastic, so I’ll let it slide.

Go Bananas is one of Cincinnati’s best comedy clubs It’s basically just a giant room with a small stage towards the back and your typical brick wall behind it. Tables are everywhere, and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. The last show I was all the way in the back of the room and I could still see and hear perfectly. Tickets are cheap, usually like $ 12 for a semi-well known comedian. And you have to spend at least $ 3 on food or drinks, which is a little annoying, but better than other comedy clubs who impose a two-drink minimum. I also wish they had water, but in fact, will only sell you bottled water if you wanted water. Really guys? Really. Oh well. They also do really nice Pro-AM nights, where for $ 5 you can see professional and amateur comedians just try stuff out and see how it works. Those are great because you get a nice mix of really great comedy and really terrible comedy, so you appreciate the good stuff more. It’s a little farther away from downtown than, say, Funny Bone, but it’s totally worth the drive. I have never been unhappy seeing a show here. The name is silly, but so is the place, and they own it. For instance, the restrooms are for He-quitas and She-quitas. Lol. Reserve your seats online(it doesn’t cost anything and it takes two seconds) or you might not get seats when you get there. Beyond that, go on, laugh a little you’ve earned it.

This is a fun, small venue with a bit of a warm, family feel to it. The shows are always great and they are heavily involved in the community. It’s cool to see how much they promote the local comedians. They also have a lot of options for what I would call cheap shows. These involve special events or the donation of canned goods. Check their website and get on their mailing list. I think this is a great local business to support as they work hard to support local talent.
