No joke, the best ice cream in Cincinnati. Don’t expect typical flavors, but instead, enjoy wonderful combinations such as brown butter caramel, cookies and pie, and honey lavender. The waffle cones are a must have. They actually make them to order in the back. They will also toast a homemade marshmallow with a butane torch directly on top of the ice cream. Yes, please! Be warned if there is a crowd, it could take a few minutes, but WELL worth the wait!

Excellent ice cream and helpful service. One of the best shakes I’ve had. Ordered a chocolate banana and I’ve never tasted a stronger banana in a shake. The desserts are melt in your mouth and rich. My only complaint is a rotating menu, though the options are listed on the wall and I was told they rotate roughly every three days.

What an adorable little ice cream store!!! I’m so happy that I stumbled across this gem! My best friend and I were looking for desserts to eat after brunch and thanks to Unilocal I was able to find this place. They make their own ice cream in creative flavors like lavender and honey or smoked butterscotch(which is what I got) but what makes this store different from the rest is they have option to top off your ice cream with ROASTEDMARSHMALLOWS! OH. EM. GEE! It’s a $ 1 more but I must recommend you do it! It’s literally heaven in a cup.

I can’t believe I’m just now reviewing this place! Over the past several years, I have been to this small ice cream shop, tucked away on Vine Street. The service is always superb; the shop is owned and run by a couple who are more than willing to let you sample any and all of the flavors. My ultimate favorite is the brown butter caramel. But there’s always a variety of flavors for everyone’s palette. The ice cream always tastes fresh and leaves me almost licking the bowl. You must try it at least once with the toasted marshmallow on top!

I happened to walk by this on my way to Cheapside and the name itself called to me! I had to find out what this was and go in! And of course, it has my favorite treat: ice cream! After a delightful meal at Cheapside, I make it back here and nobody is in here, so I get the full attention of the owner and he lets me try everything! I was so impressed with the flavors, it was hard to choose, but I decided vanilla lavender and nothing but espresso and they were GOODCHOICES. Waffle cones are made to order and they are decadent! It was incredible, I have never liked a waffle cone so much and I LOVEWAFFLECONES. It has a thin, light airy crunch(unlike normal cones) and it crumbles easily, but not too easily that the ice cream melts into it and makes it soft. It was so perfect. But I made the poor choice of getting it in a cup and it was difficult to eat. Go with the cone because that’s just normal and easier. I was also up sold with the toasted marshmallow and it was worth it. Expensive as hell — a dollar for a marshmallow(think, you can buy an entire bag for this much which has like 100 of them in there), but good. It added another element of sweetness and flavor with the brûlée crunch and smokey burntness(yes I’m good at making up words). Def try it. I’d love to go back if I come to cincy, so I’m glad I have friends here to visit! Oh hello, honey!

This place is so awesome as far as ice cream goes in Cincinnati. I actually prefer them to Grater’s and UDF. So many flavors of homemade ice cream and then the toasted marshmallow is just a kicker on top. Now, with the additions of cakes and cookies to be used as well, it is just that much better. The name of this place is right, because when you walk in through the door, you will be saying«Hello Honey» for sure.

So delicious! Very friendly service. Good have better ambiance and more seating. I wish it was open in the evening. Maybe a better location? BUT it’s still so so yummy! And you would be a fool not to get a torched marshmallow.

This might be the number one hidden gem in Cincinnati. I’ve been wanting to try this place since it opened, and due to the hours it’s hard for me to get there on time. I had the banana sundae which I ordered with brown butter caramel. I was surprised to see that the sundae wasn’t as big as I anticipated, which I was happy about. So many places give such huge portions. The toffee pieces were super super good. My boyfriend ordered the nutella sundae but wanted matcha ice cream instead. It actually worked really really well together. The matcha ice cream is bomb. Sooo good. Service is super friendly and are more then willing to help and give you many samples. Can’t wait for my next visit to taste more flavors.

Why, why, why do people open up artisan ice cream shops? Every time someone opens one up, it means I HAVE to try it. I mean, I suppose if I had self control I could stop myself, but it’d be a helluva lot easier if they just didn’t keep popping up so I could spend my daily caloric intake on them. Hello Honey is a quaint little ice cream shop in between 5th and 6th on Vine. I pass this place everyday on my way to work and one day, while feeling the need for ice cream, I FINALLY stopped in. And let me tell you, I WILL be back. I ordered a sundae with nutella sauce(F#%&YEAHNUTELLA), homemade whipped cream and a toasted marshmallow. Yes, I said toasted marshmallow. Ugh. The guy recommended the cookie and pie ice cream as the base and I was not disappointed. The ice cream is made by them, and with all the homemade ingredients on top I was not disappointed. My only qualm is that most ice cream confections run $ 6 – 10. That’s a little pricey, but I understand it to be because they make everything with the freshest ingredients and it’s homemade. It won’t be somewhere I frequent everyday, otherwise I’ll be fat and poor, but it’s definitely somewhere I will have no guiltiness in splurging on.

Hello Honey — A Cincinnati 4, Bay Area 3. There are so many things about Hello Honey that I want to love. Ice cream made in small batches on the premises. Seasonal flavors. Interesting flavor combinations aka a departure from the classic flavor profiles such as vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate and a veer toward the more modern flavors like strawberry balsamic and chocolate bourbon. Homemade salted caramel, made to order waffle cones and waffle cups, and homemade marshmallow torched in front of you. It’s an amateur foodie ice cream lover’s paradise. The service: it’s great! They definitely give you time and space to peruse the menu which is always nice when you’re visiting a place for the first time. And they’re happy to suggest toppings! The ice cream: they have the fat content perfect — enough to placate your inner fattie with just a tad of guilt for consuming dessert before dinner. It’s the perfect consistency — smooth and thick. The only qualms I have are with the flavor themselves: I found the two scoops(salted caramel and blackberry cheesecake) and my friend’s two scoops(peanut butter and cookies and pie) were just very mild. Or too subtle. I personally prefer when ice cream flavors are more bold and robust and you actually taste the different components that make up that flavor. Hello Honey is a great addition to the Cincinnati ice cream scene. They’ve got the base for a great ice cream experience! I just hope/wish they don’t water down the ice cream taste for the Cincinnati palate!

Hello, love of my life! This is hands down the best ice cream in Cincinnati and my favorite ice cream. Period. You can go simple with just a scoop of yummy ice cream like Brown Sugar Pecan or go cuh-razy and get your ice cream with a delicious cake topped with the most amazing marshmallow you’ve ever tasted. This place is game changing. You’ve never had anything like it, I promise. We’ve all had a roasted marshmallow and even a waffle cone, but not like this. The flavors, the textures; mind blowing! Thank God they sell the ice cream by the pint. This girl has got to have her Espresso Brittle and Honey Lavender fix!

I can’t believe I didn’t hear about this place until now! I was drawn to this place by pictures of toasted marshmallows on Unilocal Cincy’s Instagram page and decided to give it a try. It seems I have been passing by for months and missing out! They have so many yummy desserts I want to try, and they have a ton of unique flavors as well. I had the honey toast with blackberry cheesecake ice cream and a toasted marshmallow. It was fantastic! The honey toast was like a pound cake and it went very well with the ice cream and marshmallow. It tasted as delicious as it looked. My sister and I shared the dessert and they were nice enough to throw in an extra toasted marshmallow for us. Hello Honey makes me happy :) I can’t wait to go back and try their cakes and crepes!

During my weekend visit in Cincinnati, my friends and I frequented Hello Honey twice. We are a fan of their ice cream and desserts. The store is so cute and the owner is really friendly and personable. The owner keeps up with what’s trending in the ice cream industry as I overheard her talking to a regular customer. There is several parking areas around Hello Honey. I think there was a parking deck next to it. Flavors do change and alter each week, They do have very interesting and smart concepts/concoctions to ice cream flavors that my friends loved. I tend to like more of the basic flavors like Vanilla and Chocolate. The flavors that I was able to try: — Lavender Honey: interesting flavor and it definitely tastes like lavender. It was good and I think it’s one of the popular flavors from the menu. — Vanilla Honey: this was my all-time favorite flavor. It was a twist to the traditional vanilla flavor. I ordered this both times I was at Hello Honey. Pricing is under $ 10 for each item. I think it’s $ 5 for one scoop of ice cream and $ 6 for two scoops. Of course I went for the two scoops. The scoops are very generous so one scoop is more than enough. Overall, I wish there was a Hello Honey in Georgia. We really liked our experience at Hello Honey.

I am a life long lover of ice cream. My mom has always joked that when I was born I was made 50% of soft serve and I guess it stuck. That said, ALLOTHERICECREAMISRAWSEWAGE compared to Hello Honey! You need to try this stuff if you haven’t. Yes, their hours make it a challenge of you don’t live directly in the city but make a special trip if you have to! The hand made marshmallows are one of the best deserts I have ever had and to put it atop this fresh and inspired ice cream makes a perfect paring. I would give them a dozen stars if I could. This joint is our new Saturday ritual.

Nutella Icecream and a fresh roasted marshmallow?! yes please! I loved that all of the ice-cream is made there and it was absolutely delicious. I prefer fresh marshmallows so HH was right up my alley! The service and décor were right on point! It reminded me of my trips to sweet shops and bakeries in Asia. The only think I didn’t enjoy was the green tea chocolate cake. I am a bit of matcha purist and I think chocolate ruins and overpowers that flavor. The chocolate cake and matcha mousse were not a pairing that I enjoyed so I ended up scooping the mousse out and I enjoyed it thoroughly! The menu is also developing and absolutely delicious combos are available so everyone can try a little bit of everything!

I love walking around downtown around lunchtime on a nice day. I don’t work downtown but whenever I get to come downtown for lunch, I make sure to stop by Hello Honey for dessert! The owner is a sweet little lady named Pook. She will let you sample anything before you buy it! She told me the salted caramel was her favorite but she warned that it was very salty. She was right! But I ordered one and ate the whole thing and it was delicious. Great location and cute little shop. I will be coming to Hello Honey much more often to cool off from the 80 degree weather!

I’m an ice cream fanatic. And this place was perfection. I’ve been trying for weeks to get here and finally did this Saturday. The wait was worth it. I opted for a weekly flavor — brownie and cream — in a dish. I was asked if I wanted a toasted marshmallow in top; when in Rome!(Answer: yes!) What a finishing touch to watch your fresh homemade marshmallow to be torched in front of you. The ice cream was rich, creamy, fresh, chocolate brownie perfection. But that marshmallow! The burnt sugary goodness with the chocolate creamy richness — insane! Saturday us officially hello honey day. I’d give 5 stars but those hours are tough to get there but once a week!

Hello Honey serves up some pretty amazing ice cream, and offers a fairly unique offering of flavors that you won’t find at other ice cream establishments. I would say Hello Honey is the best ice cream shop I have visited in the downtown Cincinnati area(not Northern Kentucky, however). When you go in, the kind staff is more than generous and helpful in regards to letting you sample whatever flavors you want in order to help you determine your selection. Sometimes that sampling experience can get awkward(at other places) if you have rude staff that makes you feel as if you are free loading on Company product(as I’m sure some do), but the few times I have been in, the Hello Honey staff actually seems to promote the sampling. This is as good as it gets for ice cream in downtown Cincinnati! I highly suggest you give it a whirl if you have a hankering for some sweets.

What a delightful little ice cream shop in the business district of downtown Cincinnati! Some friends and I walked in after a light lunch, and we were ready for anything on the menu. I was amazed by their choices that were listed on a big board above the tables. We had checked out the photos on Unilocal!beforehand and everyone wanted their dish topped with a toasted marshmallow. We were met by a smiling woman who was happy to help with any questions we had. I was overwhelmed by the flavors list, so I ordered the brownie sundae with a toasted marshmallow for $ 1 extra. This-made-my-day!!! You know a place is awesome when they break out a blow torch. The treats came out quickly on a cute bamboo tray. The dishes were perfect and the ice cream was smooth and perfect over the hot brownie. The toasted marshmallow made me think I was right back at Girl Scout camp, but with plumbing and clean clothes. Amazing. The only thing that would have been better was the AC cranked up. But, it was a gorgeous day outside and we cooled off eating the amazing ice cream. I am so glad we tried this place. We will be back for more!

Wow! Just, wow! I take ice cream very seriously, so believe me when I tell you, this place does ice right! I visited for the first time today with my dad. They’re awesome about letting you sample, which is good because I can be super indecisive. I tried the brownies and cream first and the brownies pieces were perfect. The Brownie Time Sundae brownie uses the very same brownie, so I knew that was a win! Then it was just a matter or what ice cream to put on top of it. The Brown Butter Caramel was so sweet and full of flavor. But in the end, Peanut Butter Brittle won out. I’m really not a brittle fan, but the peanut butter ice cream was so rich and the brittle was such a sweet caramel that it totally surprised. I also decided top it with on of their toasted marshmallows because… why wouldn’t I??? This sundae was perfection! The brownie was sweet, soft and moist. And this ice cream was some of the creamiest ice cream I have ever tasted! It wasn’t icy in the least. The only teeny, tiny, itsy, bitsy complaint I have is that their hot fudge hardens quickly. So if you don’t eat it right away, you’ll have some chocolate chunks stuck to your plate. I will definitely be returning to Hello Honey!
