We always shopped at Humbert’s Meats until moving away almost 14 years ago. I walked in the door yesterday and even after all these years, I was greeted by name! You just can’t get that kind of customer service any more. The meats, cheeses, and sides we bought were just as wonderful as we remembered. I need to make a point of driving back to Finneytown more often!

I shop at the Winton Road location and I love it. They have a great selection of meat and if they don’t have something you want, they will do their level best to get it for you. The guys behind the counter are funny and helpful and will cut your meat any way you want it. They also have homemade sides as well as things you might need for dinner like potatoes, bread, condiments, etc. They also carry a brand of hot dogs called Bernard’s that is outstanding. It can be very crowded on early Sunday afternoons, but you’ll always have a good experience.

I absolutely LOVE this store and feel blessed it is so close to my house! Wonderful cuts of meat and homemade sides. Want your ground meats mixed, fat trimmed, no problem. When my kids were all younger they always took my bag out to my car and I always see them do this for elderly people. In the summer, their kabobs and kale slaw are a must try. I also love their stuffed chicken breasts. I greatly appreciate how they support other local businesses like North College Hill Bakery. Finally they make wonderful meat trays and every year supply team at half off for our local PTAs Teacher Appreciation Week. The company and the staff are knowledgeable, respectful, super kind! If you haven’t been there yet, please go and support this wonderful local and small business!

One of the last great mom and pop butcher shops in America. Great items like Cincinnati’s own Mett and Goetta.

LOVE this place!!! First time in I was looking for four filet mignons. They took the filet and sliced it up for me to my specifications. Then, so there was no waste, they ground what was leftover for filet burgers! I was amazed at the service and the price was most definitely right. Add to that the BEST homemade goetta!!! Glier’s will do in a pinch, but Humbert’s homemade goetta can’t be beat! Heck, I’m staring to drool right now! These guys are all about service and the quality can’t be beat. I shop at the Finneytown store. I believe there is another store in College Hill. Okay, I’m very confused. I looked them up online because I didn’t want to misdirect anyone and the site mentions Bridgetown and Rapid Run locations. Anyway, you figure it out. I shop at the Finneytown location on Winton Road. Don’t look it up, just go to the address listed here on Unilocal and ask them to help you with all your butcher needs. Humbert Meats can’t be beat!

It is great having a local meat market when so many neighborhoods do without. I come from an era when you had a lot of specialty shops and that is what is wrong with America nowadays. There are different grades of meat and butcher shops tend to carry the better quality, as in the case of Humberts. The staff there is very friendly and well versed to answer your meat questions. Their various homemade salads and fixings are always top notch. They have very good prices on party trays. Go Humberts!!!

Ground lamb meat is in short supply. Trust me, I’ve checked. Kroger didn’t have anything resembling it. My wife needed the meat for a cleansing diet she was doing, but was disheartened at how fruitless our search had been. Finally, I ended up at Humbert Meats and was able to finally get what I needed. The staff answered my question quickly, and while I was only able to get it in frozen form, my wife and I had delicious lamb burgers that night. Whenever it’s too much of a stretch to make it down to Findlay Market, Humbert Meats is my best option for all kinds of pork, chicken, beef, etc. Of course, the cost is higher than if I just ended up at Kroger.

A butcher store is a butcher store, right? Well, to the extent that you’ll get good meat, yes. But there’s something to be said for becoming and remaining a local establishment. Humbert’s has been the butcher of choice for much of Finneytown and Wyoming for decades now, while other meat mongers have come and gone. I’ve never had a bad cut from them, and their stuffed pork chops are fantastic. The guys are are genial, too. At least until you become a regular, whereupon you’ll get harassed(friendly-like, of course). They have a service-minded attitude and work hard to make your carnivorous purchases as pleasing as possible, whether you ordered ahead for pickup or you’re famished and desperate for the largest steak possible. The selection is nothing beyond belief: steaks, chickens, porks, lunchmeats, some cheeses. But it’s probably what you want for dinner or lunch. Baked goods from the North College Hill bakery(including their legendary dinner rolls) make this a good place to grab everything you need for a grillout.
