Inner Peace Holistic Center

I’m not sure why this place is called inner peace spa, you cannot get any peace in this spa unless if you are the only customer in the entire place. I recommend salon lofts for any spa needs.
The building at first glance is a bit sketchy. The doors are locked and you have to call to get buzzed in. When you enter, you go up the elevators that takes you to the spa. It is a wide open area. There’s nothing special in there. I got my eye lash extensions because of a promo on groupon. My lashes were great but the experience was not. The workers there were rude, when I entered they didnt acknowledge me. I had to go find someone. The technician that applied my lashes was wonderful, but she was the only one.
There is no privacy. Everyone getting served is in the same room and you just hear everyone’s conversations. Even the waiting room is in the same space so husbands waiting on their wives were just all able to watch everyone get their services and make comments which was uncomfortable. It’s not like this at the salon lofts, where you are in a private room.
When I went to pay, they asked for tax which doesn’t normally happen when you use a groupon. I paid cash and they didn’t have change so I left a tip. I’m not going back to this place. It was not a relaxing or good experience.

I also really wanted to like this place. I’m totally all about local and holistic spa places, and I thought that somewhere which had chakra healing couldn’t go wrong — Oh, but it could! As I was walking in, I totally justified the 3^rd floor of a rickety old building with random haphazard signs as being «cool» and unique… and the open floor plan of the place — I was like, okay… maybe they know how to make this work. Nope.
First of all — the receptionist dude –Colton i think his name was — was totally unfriendly both on the phone and in person, and kind of seemed to hate his job. Then, after I waited for 10 minutes, my masseuse, Kim, came to get me. I was immediately nervous because she also didn’t seem very friendly or talkative, or really have any kind of «zen» vibe… she got right to the massage — which wasn’t very good at all — she had no sensitivity. At one point I asked her for a tissue and she had to leave the room and brought back toilet paper — that’s when I was like, this place is JANKY. I asked for more pressure and she told me she was «bumping me up» to another kind of massage — which I found out later meant they were going to try and charge me $ 10 more. I contested it, and they didn’t in the end, but the conversation was not clear. She also ended 5 minutes before the hour — which meant I got a 45 minute massage — not an hour. I left stinking of cheap oil, which she used way too liberally.
Overall, I was really hoping this would be the kind of place that had super thoughtful, connected people working there — and it turns out it’s just a business, whose employees are less than thrilling or thrilled. I get massages a lot, and Kim had no feeling for the «subtle body» — it felt like she was just doing her job. It made me anxious, being on her table — because the whole experience of this spa was one of not feeling «cared for». I’m mad that I wasted my money here. Don’t go!

I wanted so badly to love this place! I adore supporting local business as well as all-​natural products but this place was not good at all. I came from Chicago for job interviews, and decided to schedule some relaxation while I was there. The online scheduling process was very convenient.
The space, as others have mentioned is nor great. It is a wide open lofted room, roughly separated by a fee thin walls and curtains. I came in for a facial and thought the whole staff was unprofessional from the moment I walked in. Calling this business a spa is certainly a stretch.
The facial itself wasn’t awful. I was covered only by a thin sheet and given no robe so I left my clothes on for the most part. I was cold the entire time and the bed was not heated well. No extractions. No exfoliation. I received a steam and a mask. No massage of the neck and shoulders. No scents.
Perhaps I had too high of expectations, as the prices are quite low. This spa could have potential with some major changes. I will stick to Aveda in the future.

If I could I would give this a –5 star rating. Worst place ever. I had a 90 minute hot stone pedicure scheduled for 12:30 with a confirmation email. Someone forgot to put me down so they rescheduled me for 1:30. I was still waiting at 1:45 when she finally took me back to a massage room. She told to get undressed and lay facedown on the massage table because she was going to give me a back massage while the stones warmed up for my pedicure. I waited 10 more minutes before she came back in the room. I had just gotten up and told her that I was tired of the waiting and was thinking about leaving. She said she wasn’t in charge of scheduling and for me to go ahead and leave. So I left. This is seriously the most unprofessional place I have ever been. They definitely need to change the name. No peace at this place.

More of a 2.5. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. It is on the third floor of an old building that hasn’t had a lot done to it. The décor is kinda thrown together and not the luxurious setting you think of for a spa. The massage itself was pretty good. We got the Swedish. Not great but not bad. Prices are very decent. There is a $ 15 room fee for a couple’s massage. Next time we will pay more and go somewhere else.

My partner and I have been searching for a good esthetician to provide gentlemen’s waxing services. After hair raising experiences with other estheticians in Cincinnati, Sue was terrific. She is fast, thorough, considerate, and knowledgable. This service is her specialty after two decades in the business. If your little beast is out of control, go get a brozillian from Sue.

I came home from Chicago for a visit and found myself in need of some upper back massage help. I booked an appointment online (super-​duper easy; I love when businesses set this up for customers) for the same day. Inner Peace is open relatively late, which is a really nice thing.
I was unfortunately a few minutes late, but Ann, my massage therapist, was very nice about it. The massage was really great and she was very attentive with a great sense of humor. The massage space was clean and inviting.
The front desk person, who I think might have been the owner, was also incredibly nice and gave me a small care package with an eye mask, a vegan lip balm, and a candle. Very nice! The massage was quite affordable, too.
The *only* downside is that the location is clearly in the middle of a transition. The space is a bit rough — you can tell it used to be office space — but it seems that they’re working on remodeling, so be warned.
Otherwise, a great value for the money, great staff. I will be back when I’m in town!
