This is probably my favorite Korean market in the area. Neither CAM nor the two Jungle Jim’s have much in the way of Korean products so we find ourselves heading to Jang Tuh on a fairly regular basis. The prices are good, the selection is excellent considering it’s a pretty small store and the owner’s are friendly. They also sell soju, though you have to ask for it specifically since they don’t put it out for sale. Just be careful if it’s your first time there as the turn to get into their parking lot is really easy to miss.

This is really my go-to place for Korean food. I eat a lot of it and they have all the great specialized items I can’t get at CAM. I kind of stumbled upon Jang Tuh when I was on the way to the Tri-County mall and had to stop in. The staff/family that owns it is super friendly and I’ve come to know a lot about them(by virtue of being in there every couple weeks.) They’re really great and will help you get anything you can’t find. The store is a bit cluttered and is bigger than it looks on the outside. They have some cookware, knives, utensils, etc. along with random trinkets, drinks, candies, vegetables, spices, noodles, rice, refrigerated goods and so on. They stock my favorite kimchi and gochujang and they even have the black rice used to make purple rice. I’d give this place a 5-star, but I just wish it was bigger and a little easier to navigate.

I buy quite a few Korean products, as they are part of my typical diet. Finding Korean stores in Indiana or Ohio isn’t so easy. Most people in the Cincinnati metro area likely go to Jungle Jim’s but as I’ve found, they don’t have a lot of Korean products. While searching, I found Jang Tuh in Sharonville, an area where I wouldn’t normally shop. It’s a small store but they’re full of good products like ramen, sauces, bagged ji gae(Korean stew), the Korean equivalent to Japanese dora yaki(red bean buns), fresh kim chi and more. The staff are friendly though I think their English is more limited than I first realized. Update 2014.03.15: A lot has changed. Apparently, the current owners also own Little Asiana on Montgomery Rd and they have very little that isn’t a basic requirement. I’ve gone a couple of times since they’ve changed, but I haven’t found what I wanted at all, unfortunately. Thankfully, Jungle Jim’s has stepped up their buying of Korean products.
