Jansi Custom Dry Clng

We have used Jansi dry cleaning for almost 9 years, because it is just around the corner from our condo. The couple that owns and runs this store is so sweet, and they have always taken good care of our clothes. Most frequently, we take in my husband’s suit jackets and trousers for work, but I have also trusted them with sweaters, silk, and even my wedding dress.
I would say their prices are on the higher end of fair — which is still substantially lower than a big popular dry cleaning chain that I looked into.
Recently we moved to a different neighborhood, and I felt sad that Jansi would no longer be convenient for us. However, thanks to other Unilocal reviews (including a good one that is hidden for some reason), I realized that we could use Jansi’s free pick-​up and drop-​off service instead! So we’re going to give that a try, and I am very happy to be supporting a small family owned business, especially one that I have enjoyed working with for so many years already.

Normally when I take dry cleaning it usually is a decent price but here it’s a little expensive. I use the pick up and delivery service when I can’t make it up there in time, but I do feel I pay higher than some places for clothing.

If you’re looking for a dry cleaner in this area, find another! We took 2 garments in for dry cleaning, and were told the price would be $ 19.15 — one garment (a choir robe) was $ 13, the other (a sport coat) was $ 6.15. This already seemed high to me, but my husband and I said to ourselves, «oh, well…»
When we picked up the garments about a week later, the clerk couldn’t find the garments at first (we had our numbered ticket with the prices on it in hand with us). Once she found them, we were told the price was now going to be $ 25.78 — the clerk said that $ 5 was added to the cost of cleaning the robe (roughly 40% more than the original price!); she said that the reason for this was that «it was long.» How interesting… when we dropped the garments off, we had specifically stated that this was a «long, choir robe» so that they would know what they were cleaning — DUH!!!
I can’t believe that this cleaner would have the audacity to raise a price at all on something like this, let alone raise it by 40%! We are not talking about a heavily stained garment that required intricate pressing, etc! The cleaning was ok — nothing special, and just standard (for the price, I was hoping the robe would be singing on it’s own once we took it out of the bag!) What a rip off! We will not be back, will be taking our business elsewhere, and suggest that you think twice before using this «custom» cleaner!
