Klosterman Baking Company

First, I should say upfront that I worked briefly for an advertising and marketing agency of whom Klosterman was a client. During that time, I actually handled Klosterman’s twitter account, as well as wrote some other marketing content for them. That said, that will not bias this review one way or the other. It was only how I was first exposed to Klosterman.
It wasn’t until really learning about the company that I realized I’d enjoyed Klosterman several, if not countless, times over the years. See, they provide bread to restaurants, institutions, cafeterias, and the like. So chances are, whether you know it or not, you’ve been enjoying Klosterman as well. Of most note, I regularly enjoy Klosterman bread from the cafeteria where I now work. The café is ran by Sodexo, which is a company with some questionable practices and ethics (countered by some very good qualities), but, aside from choosing to do business with them, that’s not Klosterman’s concern.
They make a variety of loaves, rolls, buns and so on, and they are yummy. At my work we have at least 6 types, including whole wheat, twelve grain, regular olé white, and more. The bread is fresh, fluffy, and tasty. The company plays on being family-​owned, which is true, but it’s a very large company, so don’t let those claims fool you.
Considering the size of the company, their marketing approach, how they play on their different styles and creations, I think it would be pretty accurate to call them the Sam Adams of bread. In fact, I’m quite pleased with that analogy. Oh, hey, they’re also based in Cincinnati, which is awesome. Ohio Love.
