The office is clean, the staff is professional enough. The doctor has a very arrogant attitude.

I pride myself on being different from the rest, but when it comes to doctors I’m like most: I avoid them at all costs. Yet sometimes doctors are just necessary: enter Dr. Kristin Titko. While training for the Chicago Marathon, what was to be my first marathon, this summer, I starting having some pretty bad ankle pain. So upon recommendation of a friend I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Titko. Being a runner, it’s important to me that my doctor(especially my podiatrist) understand how important running is to me. Dr. Titko fit that mold because she is a runner herself. It turns out I had a stress fracture and had to take 3 months off of running. There have been a few times I’ve mentioned to other medical professionals that I saw Dr. Titko. Each time they would reply«I’ve heard she’s really good.» I think her reputation for being a good doctor has made her extremely busy because she never spent more than 5 minutes with me and I was never really asked if I had any questions. The visits were always very rushed and the first few times I waited more than 30 minutes in the waiting room. I guess that’s the price you pay for a good doctor. I do like her very frank take on things — no sugar coating here! Thanks to her advice I’m back to running pain-free.

I have been struggling with Plantar fasciitis for the last 6 months. As with so many athletes, I ignored it far too long and didn’t see a doctor until June. When I finally did do something about it, I was leaving town less than a week later. I really appreciated that the office was willing to fit me into the schedule just 2 days later! My greatest fear when facing an injury is that a doctor will tell me I have to stop working out to fix the problem. I appreciate that Dr. Titko is an athlete herself and understand how important training is and how hard it is to stop. I am training for a Tough Mudder next month and she has done everything she can to try to get me into top shape before it. I have referred 2 other people to her and both have had the same complaint of her. She does work very, very fast. She is in and out of the examination room quickly, but I am sure that she would stick around as long as you had questions. The office is in a pretty nondescript building on Hamilton Avenue, but the office is clean and they have pretty decent magazines in the lobby. I have been on a number of occasions and never had to wait very long, though one of my friends has. Scheduling an appointment is easy and there always seems to be openings at the times I am looking for. Have foot pain, definitely try this doctor out!
