Lookout Joe is, in my opinion, the best coffee shop in the city for comfortably working. I love a place where you walk in and they say«hello stranger» when you’ve been gone a while, the locals still know you and the place still feels as comfortable as the last time you were here(be it a day or a year). A good coffee shop is an extension of your living room. This place wins on that count and this spot scores extra points for having a feel that really plants it locally within the neighborhood. I’ve never felt rushed, love the staff and like the coffee quite a bit. Personally, I’ve been on a quest for a better spot to spend a few hours working since I came to the city 4+ years ago and I have yet to find it. Lookout Joe wins for me.

I’ve lived in the Mt. Lookout area since June and officially have fallen in love. Just updating from my last review now that I’ve become a semi-regular here. Wish I was more regular but the parking situation makes it challenging to quickly pull in /out. LOYALTYPROGRAM– join it. it’s as easy as getting a little business card stamped for each drink you purchase. love that you can redeem for half off a beverage or wait until you’ve earned more and get a free drink. I like flexibility. THECOFFEE– it always smells incredible because they roast in house AND there are so many options for your cup of joe each morning. I’ve personally grown to love the highlander grogg. THEBEVERAGES– I’ve actually come to notice that they really aren’t that sugary sweet. At Starbucks I always have to ask for less syrup and here the ratio is just right. Tried their pumpkin latte this morning and it was good. The sweetness is subtle which makes me a fan. OTHERTHINGS– they have almond milk. I can’t do regular milk, so enough said.

Confession: I don’t drink coffee. I need to get that out of the way before anyone questions me. I’ve been here a few times with my coffee loving husband, and I can proudly say that this is a coffee shop that those of us not on the coffee loving band wagon can visit. They have some absolutely AMAZING frozen drinks. The orange creamsicle literally tastes like they bought a box of the delicious frozen treats, melted them down, and stuck a straw in it(is that the recipe? Did I just ruin it?) They also have a non-alcoholic piña colada drink that will make you forget you’re in Mt Lookout. Never had the coffee, never had the food. The workers have always been super friendly, and the whole atmosphere is cozy and laid back.

Everytime I get talked into coming here I remember why I never bother to go here even though it’s the closest coffee shop to my place. My sister wanted to grab some quick coffee so we stopped in after getting pedis next door. I figured the Choco-joe(iced coffee + chocolate) would be a pretty safe bet from a less than mediocre coffee shop and boy was I wrong! I walked away with a $ 2.50 cup of chocolate milk! I’m not sure how it’s possible to mess up something so simple. I’ve had a similar drink at another local coffee shop and it was amazing. Lesson learned — some things are worth driving a few extra minutes for.

My family often stops here on the way to church(we travel from NKY to Hyde Park) for our Sunday morning coffee. The staff is friendly, the coffee selection is fantastic, and the atmosphere of Mt. Lookout Square is perfect. If I lived closer, this would absolutely be my regular spot!

Very impressed with Lookout Joes! We came here for some free wifi after having just moved to cincinnati and this place was within walking distance. I got a cup of their Brazilian coffee, a chocolate muffin, and my husband got the Arnold Palmer($ 6.70 including a $ 1 in the«Karma Jar” — cute!). The coffee was solid, and the first refill is free if you stick around. The muffin was heated and brought to the table with some grapes as garnish. It was delicious and not dry at all. The Arnold Palmer can be made with black, green, or ginger-peach tea as well as a special tangy lemonade. It wasn’t sweet enough to my liking, but my husband with a preference for tart said it was ok. Overall very impressed with quality for the price. The atmosphere is about average noise level for a coffee shop– I could imagine it gets very busy at high traffic times. There is much more outdoor seating available than the average coffee shop. Service was fantastic and timely. I plan to bring my coffee addict friend and tea-loving friend here soon– will update then!

Cute neighborhood coffee shop, coffee is always delicious, have had a variety of the breakfast foods and they’ve all been great. Very cozy study spot. Parking, like all of Mt Lookout Square, is the worst part.

Located right in the middle of Mt. Lookout Square, Lookout Joe is your perfect neighborhood coffee shop. They have great coffee, latte, non-caffeine drinks, pastries… and the list goes on. They do their roasting right on site, the whole place is filled w/freshly toasted coffee aroma whenever they do the roasting, and sometimes you can even smell it when you drive by. I love how cozy and neighborhoody the place is. They have a great outdoor seating area. On a nice day you can sit outside, enjoy a nice ice coffee and people watch. On a cold day, you can get a cup of joe and snuggle up on their comfortable sofa.

Comfortable neighborhood café with study, conversation and outdoor seating. I’m only reviewing the atmosphere and coffee/tea. All are wonderful. Plenty of flavored coffee options that are self-serve. Hot tea options are all tea bag(Harvey and Sons and another brand). You can buy coffee beans and it appears they roast their own beans right in the shop. Service is pleasant and quick. There’s a big couch in the corner near the window and lots of seating outdoors.

Love Lookout Joes. The coffee is amazing although it’s kind of expensive, about $ 1.85 for a 16oz cup of regular coffee. The best part about them is that you can buy a huge carafe of their coffee for about $ 8 at least that’s what I heard. My overall favorite flavor is the caramel one, it’s creamy, not overly bitter, and the flavor is really full. You should try it!

Lookout Joe is a breath of fresh air. There aren’t many local coffee shops which also have a habit of making rather good tea. And as tea is my beverage of preference, you can imagine the outcome. I’ve been to Lookout Joe’s many times over the years. The ambiance and décor are a bit lacking, the indoor seating is very limited… but for its foibles Lookout Joe makes up for it in quality. It’s not just their tea, but their coffee is well made and their staff is both fun and knowledgeable. I don’t live or work nearby, but when I’m in the area, you bet you can find me sipping on a cup of finely brewed Harney & Sons or Republic of Tea teas and doing some damned fine people watching in Mt. Lookout.

Lookout joe is an awesome coffee shop! They have singlehandedly converted me from being a starbucks drinker. The people are great, the coffee is awesome, and they seem to be a great, local organization. They even have dog treats out so your pups can get a treat too!

Nice little neighborhood coffee shop on Mt. Lookout Square. Coffee drink(Mocha) was just ok. It served it’s purpose. Although I didnt try any food this time, they had a variety of pastries available for breakfast that looked good. Only a few tables are available inside, but there is ample outside seating. I’m sure I’ll go back at some point. Local coffee shop, free wi-fi, decent coffee drinks, and not being Starbucks… that works for me!

We stopped in after walking around the area and grabbed two macchiatos. The vibe of this coffee house is really laid back and the feel of the place is very Cincinnati. It’s larger than I anticipated and we had really great service. Plus the coffee was really good.

Lookout Joe is a great little café in a very cute area of Cincinnati. I stopped here during a road trip detour and was quite impressed by their selection and very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood and need a caffeine boost. The Black and Tan is a great dark roast.

Mt. Lookout square has a lot of charm. This friendly neighborhood coffee shop embraces that fully. The staff is fun, engaging and friendly. They want you to have a positive experience and it shows. The quality of the coffee is good. I’m under the impression they roast their own coffee on-site. They have a huge selection including pre-brewed selections. They also have all the fancy coffee based beverages you’d expect to see at any other trendy coffee shop. They also serve a variety of snacks and have an impressive looking food menu. Outside is seating with umbrellas for those«a little too sunny» days when you want to drink in the summer and watch the people passing by.
