My entire family used Dr. Macheret for many years, beginning around 1998. We were interested in a doctor who would prefer to use traditional means to handle ailments rather than standard medical practices of antibiotics and drugs, while still being able to write prescriptions when needed. He is also a surgeon. Dr. Macheret is competent as a doctor, but not very patient-friendly. He can be very unfriendly. He had a nurse practitioner who was friendly and competent and handled most issues and ran the office, and so we kept going to him. When she left, the office fell apart. Billing got messed up and when we arrived for appointments, we’d wait for hours in the waiting room. We stopped seeing him. Years later, we received a letter from a lawyer demanding payment for services that they had messed up billing insurance(they had billed the wrong insurance company) and had waited more than a year to notify us.(For insurance to pay, they require that claims be filed within a year of the service.)
