Murmur is not something someone does when they don’t want to share what they horrible thing they have just done. No, it’s a new art collective in Cincinnati that is trying to think outside the box. Hosting all kinds of different art installations, Murmur is located on the second story of what would look like an abandoned factory. That is also not true, in fact, bean sprouts are grown on the first level, strangely enough. Not only does Murmur host art installations but they also have poetry readings and local and national music acts regularly. The sound isn’t the best, as the PA is very bare bones but it provides a great backdrop for live music. Rumor has it Murmur is having to relocate but there isn’t any news currently of exactly where. Regardless the idea of Murmur is living and breathing, physical address or not. For now, it’s still trucking along.

Murmur is a new space for artists, musicians, dancers, writers, and thinkers! A local group of artists took over an old building on Beekman and have transformed it into a booming center for creation! The center is the host to many art installations, musical performances, and they have aligned with many local non-profits to expand their programming. Most of the events are performances by local bands. Coming up is an event with the Peaslee Center String Program. They are a local non-profit in Over the Rhine that is working to increase interest in string instruments in the city’s youth and provide lessons and encouragement. Go check it out!
