Yay candy! Great newish store by Findlay Market. The scents and sights are a step back in time to the old school soda shops that most cities had before fast food became the norm. I love the variety, especially the candy I remember from my childhood. Chocolate is also in ample supply and we will have to come back for that soon. Hollyann’s review sums up the best parts of this place. The worker behind the counter was friendly and I wish this place continued success.

Walk in and you’re greeted by the scent of bubble gum. Walk around salivating at the brightly colored candy and desserts all around you. Walk out with your hand knuckle deep in the bag you just bought. Not as big as Jenco brother’s in Clifton but a very decent sized shop right by Findlay market. I can’t believe I just noticed this place after they’ve already been open for 4 months! Luckily the paper bags for the bulk candy are smaller than the ones at jenco’s so it’s a little easier to show some self restraint. They also have lots of holiday gift baskets for sale. Spend $ 25 and you get a free toothbrush, ha ha.

The finest candy store in Cincinnati! The space looks modeled after an old milkshake/malt store combined with the traditional Willy Wonka style candy shop look. Muted pastel colors adorn the space so the candies and sodas will«pop». You will find many candy favorites here as well as some unique creations such as Pinot Noir lollipop! You’ll find local and boutique sodas and pre-made candy«baskets» for gifting that special sweet-tooth. Cincinnati has been gaining traction as a city with specialty boutiques and focused restaurants. OTR Candy Bar next to Findlay Market doesn’t disappoint!

OTR Candy Bar is a cute little candy bar/soda shop at Findlay Market. Everything about this place at first glance outside just screamed«Extremely Cute Candy Shop». Then when you walk in the store at first glance YOU just scream«I want everything in and around my mouth.» This place has bulk bins of candy both new and«retro». They have everything from Frooties(Different Flavors), Jelly Bellys(A Whole Display Of Bulk On It’s Own), War Heads, Dum Dums, Cut Rock Candy and Cherry Sours and more. For the bulk bins the price goes by $ 5.25 per half pound. Compared to other bulk candy stores around the area this is pretty right on with other prices. I would still watch out from going overload and scoop happy and walking out the door with a $ 25 bag of candy and you questioning how it even happened. It has happened to the best of us. They have a case full of locally made fine chocolates. Some of the chocolates are from Sweet Tooth in Newport, which are always delicious. The Buckeyes are from Michigan which I find ironic and I’m not sure if I trust them.(squinty eyes) I see you Michigan, I see what you’re trying to do.(*UPDATE* The Buckeyes they have now are no longer from Michigan, and are from Columbus so they are safe. Haha.) They have a soda bar, cute bar stools included that look like bottle caps. They have a variety of bottle sodas, from mexican Coke, Fanta, to Craft Sodas and Retro Sodas. You can buy any of these to take home or you can pick one and take it to the bar, they will make you a soda float with your choice of soda. They top it off with delicious vanilla ice cream, a licorice stick and they put it in a cool cup that changes colors and that you get to take home with you. For mine I picked the Americana Black Cherry soda. It was perfection in my float. They also have a lot of speciality candies all throughout the store. Suckers that are shaped like bars of soap included. Probably the only soap you will ever actually want to «wash» your mouth out with. As far as the service goes, the manager that was there when I was checking the place out was really helpful and friendly. She was very well knowledged and professional. It was nice to go into a place and not just looked at as a sale, but a guest. This place is wonderful, and I would definitely suggest stopping by here for adults and kids if you’re at Findlay Market. This place is it’s own little candy land.
