Tonight I experienced the best vision exam in my entire life by Timothy F. Dawson, OD at the Pearle Vision at the Kenwood Towne Centre. He’s been in practice at this Pearle Vision location for 20 years. I have new insurance and as part of the new insurance I had to go to one of the Luxottica family of companies — Lenscrafters, Pearle Vision, Target or Sears Optical, a friend recommended Dr. Dawson. I made an appointment a few days ago, they took my insurance information right over the phone and I received a confirmation email minutes after my phone call, then received a reminder email and a courtesy phone call this morning about my appointment. I was welcomed as soon as I entered the store, I informed the associate I had an appointment, she confirmed in the system, she had me complete a form with my insurance information and said the doctor would be with me in a few minutes. Dr. Dawson came out a few minutes later and went into the exam room, he asked me questions about why I was there — I told him for an eye exam, asked me if I wore glasses or contacts. He did a series of vision exams, retina scan, checked the pressure of my eyes and explained my eyes were in great shape. The retina exam can even check to see if your eyesight is affected by diabetes, which I was fortunate and showed no signs. The entire exam took about 45 minutes and he asked me if I had any final questions. I’ve suffered from dry eyes from sitting at a computer all day, he advised I need to blink more throughout the day which coats the eyes and I should also get up from my desk, take a break once an hour — get up to get a drink of water. I’ve had prescription eye drops in the past and he said he prefers his patients to go without prescription drops and treat with over the counter drops, which saves you money. Thank you Dr. Dawson for the visit tonight, I will return for future visits and highly recommend if you need a vision exam to visit the Pearle Vision at the Kenwood Towne Center.
