Joined a little over a year ago and glad. The Y is certainly not the cheapest place to get a membership, but I feel like my money goes a long way. A Y membership in Ohio is now good for any location throughout the state. With a handful of Y’s throughout the Cincinnati area that means you have access to a pools, hot tubs, saunas, weight and exercise rooms, gymnasiums, racquet ball courts, classes, and more stuff than I can really remember. Powel Crosley itself has three pools including a water play area and an outdoor pool facility that is put under a bubble in the winter time. It also has a relaxing sauna. The site is a little bit older, but still fits the bill.

Joining the Y last year was a fantastic decision. Cincinnati has tons of gardens and running paths to use during the fair weather months, but the winter is relatively unkind to outdoor exercise. Originally, one of the biggest perks of the Cincy Y membership was that it allowed you to use all Cincinnati branches. Now, you can go to any Ohio YMCA with your membership! Way to go! I know the membership pricing varies based on economic conditions, and while the Y certainly isn’t the cheapest option, I will say they offer a lot of bang for your buck if you are willing to take advantage. Pools and saunas at most locations, fitness classes offered at all of them and at varying times, ActiveTrax to customize your fitness régime, weight rooms, workout facilities, personal coaching, and various free training programs from weight loss to competitive running to healthy eating make the YMCA not just a weight room, but a comprehensive facility for better living. I will say that while the Y offers a wonderful program for synchronized and competitive swimming, it wreaks havoc on the pool availability schedule. During the school year, expect the pool to be occupied whenever the children can be there. Even with 3 pools available at the Powel Crosley, it is difficult to discern from the schedule when the pool is open to the public. The good news? You can always call and talk to a human being.

Very nice, very clean, well maintained. Great pool(s) and most of all the volleyball on Sunday nights is awesome! The people who work there are always friendly. I’ve been to many of the YMCA’s in Cincinnati and this is a good one!

My first legal job was in the snack stand here, so I can vow that the various goodies all kids flock to during adult swim are prepared with the utmost care and attention. Or something like that. All grown up now, I only use the manly areas of the Y: the weights, the basketball court, the locker room. The latter two are nothing to speak of, but the exercise room has been recently revamped with new cardio machines as well as weight training equipment. Even the oft-neglected free weights have been updated. There are also a ton of summer camp programs which often overrun the snack bar and drive the workers crazy.
