Reeves Golf Course

Nice course for a low price but rude management. When my friend asked to demo a club, a simple no would have sufficed. Racial commentary and nastiness was unnecessary

Terrible experience, left my clubs at home (October… Not in my trunk) and golf pro had no interest in lending clubs, even when offering a deposit.
Course and driving range was empty.
Go play some where more inviting…

This course is terrible or perfect depending on what you’re looking for. If you’re a hyper professional golfer who loves a perfectly groomed course, this is DEFINITELY not the course for you. However, if you’re looking for a relaxed day out at super reasonable rates, I say Reeves Golf Course all the way.
We planned a really chill golf outing last weekend, and since I love to pinch pennies, I was all about this joint. I have to say we spent a lot of time laughing at how poorly groomed the course is. It’s to the point where you’re literally dodging random tree stumps and juuust missing huge mud pits. BUT I personally am no professional golfer, and I loved that I could watch other people suck more than I suck. And by «suck» I mean full grown men taking the swing of their life and completely missing the ball. Makes my day every time.
We only played nine holes, but at no time did we ever feel like the people behind us were trying to rush us and because there are few sand traps and no water, we lost a minimal amount of balls.
All in all, a great day out on the course.

This is the great type of course for a quick round or to the driving range after work. I’ve been to a lot of city courses and in general the service is slow and the courses are very, very crowded on the weekends.
Since it’s right next to Lunkin the coolest part are the airplanes taking off and landing directly overhead. It’s also a distraction for more serious golfers than me, who tends to stop keeping score after hole 3. In the summer it is flat and very open, so it can get hot. It also can be very dry and the holes aren’t well maintained.
Overall, ok course, but if you can go up the road to California you definitely should.

Overall a great relaxed environment to hit some balls during a lunch break. The back nine are a great way to start a Saturday afternoon.

Let’s not pretend that Reeves is going to host a US Open qualifying event anytime soon.
But it’s the absolutely perfect place for you to play if it’s your first time out this year and you need to work out the shanks in your game. The customer service is excellent and the clubhouse is fairly well stocked.
Pros: Accessibility to downtown and the east side, cost, greens are in good condition, the range and staff.
Cons: Tee boxes need work and I’ve noticed those who are driving a cart don’t observe the rule of staying away from the greens after you are 100 yards inn.
All in all — you’ll have a nice afternoon at Reeves.

Perfect for a beginner, like me. Reeves Golf Course is the first golf course I’d ever been to, so it’s fair to say I don’t have anything to compare it to. However, I had a very pleasant experience here.
We came with a group from work to do a scramble and the service was perfect: they showed us to the buffet for lunch, drinks, and then to the course. The course was a fun one for a beginner — I suspect other golf courses have more difficult holes.
I would definitely recommend this course for a beginner, to have a hassle free and relaxing golf experience1

I’ve only played on the the Par 3 Course which is more of a practice course than anything. The terrain is simple and the hazards are few. I think there’s like, one big pine tree and that’s it. Yes, I’ve managed to lose a ball in that tree.
The Play All Day special on the Par 3 course is just $ 10, but I’m afraid you may get bored with the course before time’s up. But if you don’t have a tee time, it’s pretty much a sure bet to get in on this course.

For a public golf course, Reeves offers many perks that you don’t normally find. They have two courses, a standard 18 hole course, as well as a 9 hole Par 3 course. They offer unlimited play on the par 3 course for only 10 dollars. The courses aren’t anything to write home about, but they are well maintained and reasonably priced.
The driving range is nice too because they offer the standard golf mats, as well as grass for an extra dollar. There are lights where you hit the balls, but the rest of the field isn’t illuminated.
The surrounding area is filled with tennis courts, baseball fields, picnic areas, and planes flying overhead, adding to the pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.

I enjoy playing most of the CRC courses but this is the one I visit the most often. The driving range is very nice, with both open and covered portions. If you have the player’s card you can get discounts and earn points when you play. It isn’t terribly expensive to play even without the discounts. There are even spare clubs you can use for the range if you don’t have any clubs (you will need your own clubs to play the course though.) It is a very easy course to play, with only a couple of places you can lose your ball. The only issue is the planes can get a little loud while you are playing and, and this could just be me personally, but there is a running track that comes kind of close to some of the holes and not being very good I am always worried about hitting someone with a ball.

This is my home course I guess — or at least the one I’m most likely to go to if I want to play a quick 9 after work or something like that. It’s a flat, open course which is perfect for light recreation or high handicappers like me.
I also like Reeves because I can usually walk up and get a tee time without a problem unless it’s a league night.
The lighted, heated, covered driving range is a huge plus

Reeves is a very pretty course with one big problem, but we’ll get to that in a bit.
To start off with, the course is pretty much part of Lunken Field Airport, which is just plain cool.
Some of the landing lights are actually on the first hole. It’s really cool to watch the planes take off and land at the field while you play. So while you wait for the next group to hit, you get a show for your trouble.
The range is also very nice. There are covered and heated boxes, and the range itself is very close to the club house. So no issue there.
The course is very well maintained, the problem is that it’s on the flood plane, and can get VERY wet if it rains or floods, which is prone to happen.
The price is pretty reasonable for a city rec course, too. The other problem is that Reeves is pretty popular. Depending on when you go, you could be looking at having to join up with another group, or just a decent wait at every hole.
While I probably wouldn’t play Reeves every week, it is one of my favorite city rec courses.
