What are we in the 18th century? I do not understand why places still today do not take credit cards. So with that said my lunch here already started on the left foot. The place is small and quaint with a old time mom and pop menu board hanging over a throwback arcade machine. The service great for only having two people working at the time. It was a bit slow but what more can you expect for a lunch rush and staffing only two people. We ordered the gyro combo and I have to say it was not up to par like everyone said. First off it was tiny. I am use to Chicago Gyos in Clifton which are massive so that could be why but even on regular standards it is pretty small. The worst was the tzatziki. sauce. It tasted like sour cream and water… I am giving it a three star just because I like mom and pop shops.

Hand’s down favorite pizza place in town, though the Gyro’s rate pretty high too. The pizza crust is amazing and might be made from the bagel dough or some version of it. Greek salad is giant and yummy. This is a tiny hole in the wall establishment that accepts cash only but it has always impressed us! When I was pregnant I ate Skally’s pizza every friday for about 8 months. :)

Skally’s is a small pizzeria in Colerain Township. I stopped by here for lunch on a Friday. They have a good amount of seating but most of the chairs and tables were not being used by diners for lunch but people waiting for pickup. We were the only people who ordered our pizza for here and actually were eating at the restaurant. Everyone else here was waiting to get their pizza to go. Skally’s is a really laid back place with a good menu. It is your typical pizza joint. They have two televisions that were playing TBS television movies at the time for your entertainment. The pizza was very good. They have a personal size but the regular large is the way to go. The pizza is big enough to feed 4 – 5 depending on if you eat 1 – 2 slices each. The cheese is very hot and completely melted when it is first served. Be careful when trying to separate your slices because the cheese might just fall right off the dough. 5 stars for me! Skally’s is obviously popular if people are waiting to pick up a pizza to go for lunch. I look forward to my next slice of Skally’s when I’m in Cincinnati again.

First negative in my opinion was that this is a cash only establishment with no signs indicating it. We ordered and went to pay and was told cash only. There is no ATM near so we had to drive and get cash. The worker said the food would be prepared while my wife left to get cash. It was not. We had to wait more after we paid. Food was good on the plus side. We will be back with cash in hand.

Go for lunch often and the Pizza is the best. Baked in a pizza oven not on a conveyor belt. The dough is fresh and they roll it out to order. The Gyros and fries are great to. Cash only though.

I wanted to love Skallys because several people had talked about how great it was. I have now had a few different menu items and was all but impressed. The gyros are nothing to rave about. I would not got out of my way for this option. The pizza is nothing more special then your basic bar pizza. The staff can be slow. They wont take a phone order for more then 3 if you don’t give them 90 minutes to get it ready. Yes I said 90 minutes. They only take cash. The parking is limited and the inside is dark. I would love to see them try a little harder but I think they focus more on the bakery side then the food side. I think they should stick to backing and ditch the food.

Can’t believe no one has reviewed this North College Hill institution. They have decent pizza but the standout is the gyros: a meal size sandwich for about what you pay for a large fast food burger. Good meat, nice thick tzatziki and the fresh, puffy pita is to die for. I suspect they bake them on site, as the restaurant is attached to the commercial bagel bakery. Limited service; order and pay at the counter. Basic plastic tables and chairs, but clean and reasonably pleasant. Hours can be perplexing and a little irregular, so call if you’re not sure. Closed Sundays.
