Ordered a corned beef. It was small, the meat was fair, the little there was. Hardly any sauerkraut, and NO1000 Island dressing! WTF is the point of ordering a Reuben when you don’t get any dressing? Came with an infinitesimally small serving of bought potato salad. Thank you Skip’s for reminding me why I don’ t eat at this overpriced, seen much better days, sorry excuse for a Deli. Why don’t you change the name to Skip’s bagels and stop giving the Deli business a bad name.

Solid bagels. Coming from NYC I’m particular about the texture. The Everything bagel here has a generous amount of seasoning, a crispy chewy crust, and a soft spongey inside. Much better than other Midwest«bagels» that are bread rolls shaped like a bagel with no texture whatsoever. I had the lite Reuben sandwich and a side of coleslaw. Tasty sandwich and decent coleslaw. Husband had the pastrami sandwich that he also enjoyed. Portions are good. I could only finish half the sandwich for lunch. Omelettes and salads also look good. The place was bustling on a Sunday afternoon.

first let me say I would have given them a negative 10 is that was an option have been coming to skips for years but after our last visit I will not be coming back, me and my daughter were going us to the counter to order a snack after school my daughter orders the pizza bagel kids menu and I order a salami sandwich like we usually do, after my daughter orders the lady at the counter started screaming at her in front of the whole restaurant saying that she is to old for a kids meal and why does she thing she deserves it when other people cant have it. MY daughter was in tears because of this stupid lady who yelled at her don’t go here go anywhere else but here because nobody should be yelled at and humiliated in front of the whole restaurant.

Been coming for a few months/years… Where does the time go? It’s awesome! Our favorite Bagel place in town. Mainly get the Sausage, Egg & Cheese with a Cinnamon Roll, and the meal is fantastic. Their Everything Bagels are Great. Haven’t had a bad interaction yet. Will continue to be dinning here frequently.

As others have said, this is a simple walk up and order kind of place. It’s casual and and inexpensive, which is fine. I walked in, ordered an omelet and potatoes, and sat down. The place had a faint smell of syrup to it, which you get at breakfast places. However, my food tasted really weird and it didn’t work for me. I didn’t finish it and it left a really bad taste in my mouth for a long time. First, the omelet. I got a western omelet. It had big slices of deli ham in it(instead of it being cut up), but hey OK. But it tasted, and this is weird, really strongly of celery. Like someone accidentally elbowed a container of celery salt into the omelet mix. It was weird and unpleasant. Then the potatoes. Also weird. Little potato cubes sent through the deep fryer, but also weird tasting. Not celery this time, but instead a touch sweet(perhaps maple syrup?) but also pretty inedible. Last, the coffee. I tried the«Highlander Grog,» which was overly sweet, sticky, and chemical-tasting. I then switched to the stuff coming out of the Douwe Egbert machine which was just a little better. Food-wise, nothing seemed quite right here. Maybe sticking to the bagels would be a good idea.

Love their cheddar herb bagels and seasoned potatoes! I’ve always been happy with my egg/cheese on a bagel breakfast sandwich. Plus, their pies are DELICIOUS!

A classic bagel and sandwich spot. Locally owned and operated, Skip’s has high quality food from top to bottom of the menu. For breakfast, the bagels have a great texture and come in a nice variety of flavors. Plenty of spreads to spruce things up. For lunch, soups and sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. They use only high quality meats and cheeses. Coffee isn’t made fresh, comes out of a machine. Definitely a place to grab a bite if you’re in the area and hungry.

Skips is awesome! It’s nothing fancy, no white table cloths here. But, it is delicious. They have the usual breakfast fare, bagels and cream cheese as well as breakfast sandwiches. Which are all delicious, but the lunch is so delicious. Their lunch sandwiched combine their amazing, fresh bagels in multiple flavors and great meat options. Their sandwiches are flavorful and have great toppling options. Their catering is also out of this world! They are super accommodating at short notice and made wonderful catering plates for me in the past. Their service is quick and so so good. I would recommend and I will return!

Let me start by saying I have had bagels from shops all over the country, and my standard is an Everything or Combo(depending where you are) with light plain cream cheese and Nova Lox. Having said that, I started going to Skip’s when I moved to Deerfield Twp. in 2000. Now that I have moved, I still go, mostly out of habit, and it’s a tad closer than Marx or Brueggers. The bagels are OK, a little more«bread like» than a «real» bagel, but they are tasty nonetheless… probably an average of 4 stars. Today, was my last visit. I ordered my standard, and when I jumped in the car and opened the wrapper, I was face to face with that dark brown meat(fatty meat) that you see in farm raised salmon. However, mistakes are made, so, I went back in, showed it to them and was immediately challenged by the cashier, the person that put the bagel together and even a male employee that ran from the back to the front to join in. They immediately began pulling out as much lox as they could, and loudly started telling me it was normal and edible. Yes, it IS edible, but so is fat and gristle on a steak, but it’s not very pleasing to see, nor is it very palatable. In salmon, this meat is edible, but very salty and fishy and not too pleasing to the eye. Finally, I asked for a refund and they completely ignored me. They continued to talk among themselves, shooting glances my way, until finally they decided to refund the money. As a note, the entire time she was processing the refund, she was going on and on and on about how it’s normal to have that. YES, it IS. But MOST bagel shops take PRIDE in what they serve and take the time to ensure that they serve the most eye appealing and best TASTING product they can. See the pictures for comparison, then, you be the judge. Whatever happened to customer service? It certainly has disappeared at Skip’s. You LOST a customer Skip, but based on your employee comments, you likely don’t care. .

Came in specifically for a bread bowl salad. Ordered it, excited to get my order and so very disappointed. I got a salad but they were out of bread bowls. Couldn’t someone have said something while it was being prepared? I asked, where’s the bowl. They said, we’re out. Finally, they offered up a bagel. Next time, tell me before you make it. I could have gotten a sandwich. If I had ordered a sandwich and you were out of the bagel, you would have told me. Salad was good, not enough dressing but still good. Headed to McDonald’s to get full. I’m still hungry.

It was average. Was disappointed because I was looking for something more fresh and organic. It was ok food but nothing I couldn’t have made here at home.

We love Skip’s. They make fantastic sandwiches deli style. My «go to» order is an Everything Bagel with lox, green olive cream cheese, red onion and tomato. If you like egg salad, go for it! It’s great! Kids get a free cookie if they color a picture.

I’m sad. This place has a great concept and I used to love coming here. They don’t have Grippo chips anymore which is really sad but the saddest part is that you’ll pay 8.99 for a weak ass sandwich. That’s some change for 2 pieces of turkey. And I’m glad the avocado spread I had on my sandwich was brown. Yummy! Oh yeah — and out food sat on the counter for 10 min before they called our number. It’s a sad day.

Great, giant bagels. We’ve been coming here every weekend to get our bagels since I was a kid. The place is a bit disorganized and needs an update, but the bagels are the star here. Get the onion bagel, it’s divine. Skip the sandwiches and«lunch» and make your own at home. These bagels work fantastically for pizza bagels!

Skips Bagels has a lot of tasty options. I usually get an egg white omelette with cheese, broccoli, and turkey since I have been on a health kick lately. Ingredients are fresh, and they also have a variety of fresh baked breads. Another great things about Skips is they have soups that are made daily here. They also have fresh meats that you an buy by the pound. I also know that the owner is very charitable. My friend got back from Iraq and the owner catered his party for free. Love this place!

A modest strip mall hometown business, there is nothing swanky about Skip’s. It’s a walk up order at the counter style deli & bakery. It seems all the kids working in there are from the area. Not a huge fan of the customer service. Every time I asked something the snobby teenager at the counter replied, «Yeah I don’t know.» Then we presumably looked at her like, «Can you figure it out?» And the cashier next to her was reaching over her and smiling, «Yeah we have chipotle mayo.» «Yes we have panini’s they are just called something else.» Really off putting that the person taking our order just flat out had at attitude problem/didn’t want to be there. Other than that, I had the best Bacon, Egg and Cheese in my life! The bacon was actually real bacon, crispy and flavorful. The egg and cheese was done on the grilled and it was oosing off the side of my bagel. So so good! The boyfriend got a roast beef philly which was beef, sautéed onions, mushrooms & peppers. The cheese was not even melted, the onions were not sautéed and the beef was some of the driest I have ever had. The bread however was fresh and grilled to perfection. I wanna go back just to get a loaf of that! With other assortments like pastries, salads, and sandwiches this place boasts a huge menu, but I’m not sure they deliver on quality every time. If I were just reviewing the Bacon, Egg and Cheese this would be a five star review! Get something simple(and for take out) and you’ll be golden.

Skip’s is interesting in the fact that it’s attached to a burger joint. You can walk around the wall, and bam! Burgers. I walked in the first time a bit confused. To the left, bagel sandwiches, to the right burgers… choose wisely… there should have been some dramatic music playing in the background with louder and higher notes being played if I started to make the wrong choice. I walked in, and looked around not sure where to go. There were 3 different areas to order, and I think it depends on the type of food you are getting. I went to the back, and ordered a breakfast sandwich for lunch, because lets face it, nothing is better than breakfast at lunch. NOM. It was tasty, and drinks are served in a bucket sized cup. The staff is always super friendly, and all in all I like the place. It’s not my fave, but I will definitely go back.

Meh. Plastic and foam everything, from forks to coffee cups to plates. Wouldn’t seem so bad if it weren’t a sit-down deli restaurant with a lot of tables, but with just average food, all-plastic everything, combined with 5 teens running the place on a Sunday morning and consumed with everything BUT customers, Skip’s was just too much mediocrity for me.(I’ll exclude the cooks in this; they were busting tail to get food off the grill and into the customers’ hands). The coffee and the breakfast bagel were good, however the dirty tables and lackadaisical service(to be clear: lack of ANY service) pushed me over the edge and down to 2-star territory. I’ll try it once more with the wife just to see whether there is any reason whatsoever to change my impression of Skip’s(and will definitely bring a Reach coupon so I don’t feel like an idiot if we have the same experience). We used to visit a long time ago but I remembered why I never was head over heels for Skip’s Deli: all of the above. In fairness to the deli, I think I may have been too intent on a relaxing sit-down meal to accept all that damn plastic, and the home fries in a waxpaper basket, and the do-it-yourself table cleaning. One request: could you guys at least have real coffee cups for your customers? Even Panera offers that token to its clientele. PS Isn’t is interesting that some smiles from the counter staff and a bit of concern for the customers could have changed the impression of our visit, and hence the review? Pros: Good location on Montgomery Road, lots of comfortable tables and booths.

Used to come here a lot in high school when Ben & Jerry’s was attached, and haven’t come back since then, about 10 years. After discovering the Corner Coffee Café in Remington was closed for breakfast we decided to stop into Skip’s. Bagel sandwiches are good for lunch and breakfast, and we got a side order of home fries with onions and peppers that were really good, and they have Seven Hills Coffee, which my hubby loved. Service here is apathetic at it’s best, unfriendly at its worst, about what you would expect from a bunch of teenagers counting down the minutes until their shift is over. The tables weren’t cleaned off, the seats are held together with tape in places, the seat I sat on was missing the cushioning and had a bona fide ass-dent in it, definitely not a good impression as far as atmosphere goes! So, I may come back for take-out if I’m in the area but definitely not making this a regular breakfast spot. OWNERSHIP: Take a look at these reviews and improve your service!!!
