Spiderhost

Not terrible for the price but don’t throw them any curves! We were customers for just over one year, acct # 2271. At the end of one year of monthly services, we were billed for our domain registration renewal which they did not actually hold. Failing this payment, our website was arbitrarily suspended from the internet. «Jim Wallace» in Orlando, knew full well about this circumstance going in but allowed it to happen anyway. Obviously they had no provision for this type of dual registration but he didn’t want to admit that. When I complained about this insuffficiency, in the course of a long and difficult phone call, he became very agitated and defensive. Next thing we knew, our domain became parked off the web where it remained so for 8 mos. He was very unhelpful and indifferent in trying to resolve this situation after that (read stonewall) and tried repeatedly to blame it on Host Gator (our domain registrar); in fact, I would say «indifferent» pretty much succinctly describes our spiderhost experience in general. Told us in an email reply dated 9÷22÷2014, «Currently, they are pointing your record in the wrong direction,» and that’s all he would say about it. Disappointing, because he was actually pretty helpful at startup. Also, their billing and interactive systems were pretty primitive, e. g, if you made any errors entering your card it immediately accused you of «Fraud.» Suffice it to say you’ve been warned.
