I work across the street from this bakery and stop in more often than I should, as do my co-workers! I have yet to have anything that wasn’t superb. My favorites are their small round pastries like a dense doughnut that I call coffee nuts(that is not their real name) but they are soooo good with coffee! They do take credit cards, and I often stop in after lunch and they still have plenty of selection.

St Lawrence Bakery has been in business at least 100 years in the same little location in Price Hill. Don’t let the«hole in the wall» location fool you! Yes, it is old, outdated, unairconditioned, and the same workers have been there for YEARS but it is clean, the food fresh(if not still warm from the oven!), and yummy. In fact, I think they have THEBEST chocolate frosting I have ever had and I have heard others echo this sentiment — not too sugary sweet but just chocolaty goodness that merges impeccably with a warm donut it tops(or tea cookies) providing a party in my mouth! Now the specifics: yes, you need to get there early for the best selection(they open at 6AM and the variety can be gone by 9AM because people stop by on their way to work/school). They are open Tuesday through Friday 6AM-4PM and Saturday 6AM-2PM, Closed Sunday and Monday. They do not accept credit cards but the prices are so cheap you can buy a dozen or two donuts for the office for well under $ 20.

Hey mom and pop bakery that has homemade baked goodness super close to my new crib with exceptionally reasonable prices and is open ridiculously early! I am definitely a fan! Chocolate chip cookies? Check! Donuts? Check! Cakes? Check! Tea Cookies? Check! I think it’s the oldest bakery in Cincinnati, or at least one of the oldest. It’s so very cheap for such yummy goodness, hard to resist not buying a ton! Brought the bestie some cookies for post-labor and she loved them! Also brought donuts for my co-workers and had everyone raving and asking where they were from! I didn’t spend more than 12 dollars! Crazy good. Coming back for sure!

We got our wedding cake here back in 2001 and it was excellent. We got the same kind of cake here a few years ago and it was dry and not good. I actually complained, and they blamed it on the flour during the drought not being good. We decided to give it another try for my husbands birthday, still dry and not good. Very disappointed.

I have been coming to this bakery for over 30 years and the same people are still working there! It is a total dive but impeccably clean and they have some delicious offerings. I am not a fan of corporate chain bakeries. In my option their treats don’t taste nearly as good as those that come from a «mom and pop» bakery like SLB. The doughnuts with chocolate icing are my favorite. I actually used to make a drive cross town for their tea cookies(they call them birds nests) and I still love them but the past few times I have gotten them they are a bit stale. However if they fresh watch out! The prices are dirt cheap! They finally take credit cards but this is a recent addition, I’d say they have been doing this for less than a year now. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. During the week they are open till 6PM but I think on Saturday they close earlier. Call before you make a trip there to be sure.

One of the oldest bakeries in Cincinnati(if not the oldest) it is also probably the best. What can you say about St. Lawrence? How to you review perfection? You can’t…they have been using the same recipes and keeping the same hours of operation since I’ve been on earth. This bakery is 150 years old — and you just simply cannot get what they have anywhere else in Cincinnati. Their apple strudel cake will kill you where you stand. The don’;t take credit cards and if you don’t get their early enough they will be out of everything. This is a true bakery. they are closed by 2:00PM everyday and pretty much sold out by 11:00AM. They are CHEAP. Some of their pricing stems from the 50’s…tiny hole in the wall place with no air conditioning.
