Steak ‘n Shake

i have been waiting in line for this restaurant for 35 minutes. all i want is to buy my food and go home. i have watched the workers take three breaks now to go into a car, smoke weed, play on their phones, and then go back into the restaurant. literally. literally i have watched the workers smoke weed while i am waiting for my food. 35 minutes!!! i will never. ever. ever. ever. buy food from this establishment ever again.

Drive thru is always closed. Lack of employees? Lack of product? Don’t care, third time in a week. Taking my business elsewhere.

After visiting this location a second time, I am updating my review (and bumping up my rating). I have now tried the burgers and HOLY CRAP are they good. One of my favorite fast food burgers to date. Do yourself a favor and get the Garlic Double Steakburger… holy goodness. Oh, and the shakes still rule.

I won’t be wasting my time with this place anymore. I waited forever for my veggie melt… was so looking forward to it. It came with the mushrooms assembled next to the bread… resulting in soggy bread. The bread was also barely grilled, so it was like raw white bread, soggy on one side, with barely grilled mushrooms, barely ripe tomatoes, and no sauce. Worst sandwich ever. Also, they forgot my side of fresco sauce. And the side of hot sauce we asked for was barely enough to cover the bottom of the sauce cup.

Ridiculous service. Our server was nice. But when I went in we didn’t get seated for at least 10 minutes until my friend said something to the worker. We ordered are food and shakes. 45 minutes late we just had water at the table. Finally we got up and left still hungry. If I could I wouldn’t give this place any stars.

Group of friends came in last night … Amber was awesome… service awesone… was fast and hot… other sns need to take lessons from them!

It’s fast food, and fast food prices, served via table service. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I think I would rather not have to tip, and go up to the counter and get the food (and drink refills,) myself. Service was good, it just didn’t seem necessary. The food was on par with other fast food restaurants. Their menu is much larger than a Wendy’s or McDonald’s. The shakes were good. I split the chocolate banana shake with my daughter. It had real bananas in it. Strong banana flavor. My husband was still hungry after his meal and shake. I even gave him half of my fries and that didn’t help.
My daughter loved the experience. Steak ‘n Shake really caters to children. They gave her a paper fry cook hat, a tag board card with stickers to make herself, (mom made the car,) and a couple of crayons to color on the kids menu/​coloring sheet. She told her older brother all about the trip. Now he is begging to go. I am sure we will end up going back before the end of summer.
If you want to skip the table service, they do have a drive thru.
Check mailers for money saving coupons.
It is an option if looking for a cheep family meal out.

Hey, it is a Steak N Shake so the meal was greasy spoon diner delicious and the staff was very nice. Definitely not the best burgers ever, but quite a bit better than average.
The staff there was very nice and pretty attentive as well.
The restaurant was a bit dirty and that was unfortunate, but overall not a bad experience.

Its been a few years since I been to this location even though its close to my house. So my expectations was really low coming here. The atmosphere was inviting alot different from the past visits. Food was their typical but service was really good. My son ordered a specialty shake and it arrived after he ate his meal but he was okay with that.

Steak and Shake is a decent chain. The customer service is usually pretty good and their prices are reasonable. Food is greasy spoon done chain style and the 50’s theme is over played but they are open 24 hours so if you need to stop while on the road it’s a good bet. They have a good management track for their employees.
This particular has excellent customer service and a decent malt.

A traditional family favorite of ours. Great kids’ menu of course! Besides the ice cream and milk shakes, my favorites include the Frisco Melt, Western BBQ burger, and the traditional steakburger and fries. The restaurant ia always clean and the staff friendly. Highly recommend!

What’s great at Steak N Shake? Hmmmm… let me think…
Well, obviously it’s the chili! Living in Cincinnati means that chili doesn’t usually mean chili, but at Steak N Shake they have actual chili. This isn’t the «meat sauce» you get at the chili places, but instead what non-​cincinnatians would call chili. I love it! Sometimes I’ll do a double order of chili. Good stuff! Of course the shakes and steakburgers are great, too. Although I’ve always found it odd that you have to tell them what you want on the burger instead of what you don’t want.
The best part about Steak N Shake is that they are open 24 hours. I remember some amazing times at Steak N Shake in the wee hours of the morning. The people they hire to work that shift are some crazy characters and you will have a meal to remember!
They also give kids plenty to keep them busy; coloring books, a hat, and a little build-​a-​car craft. They’ll barely have time to eat.
