This place is awesome. It is my utopia. A friend took me here about 7 years ago, and since then I’ve been coming back a couple times a month. Like any thrift store, its hit or miss. Some days you come out with four bags of deals, other days… nothing.
Be prepared, weekends are maddening. The parking lot is full in less than an hour, people are standing outside waiting at the doors. You must go here with PATIENCE. Patience to wade through the mob of people, and patience to dig through the stuff and find your treasures. If you’re in a hurry, don’t go. Don’t go on your lunch hour. You need to carve out at least 2 hours and just dig in.
A few years ago, they opened another, even bigger location in Fairfield, right off route 4. It took a while for them to get their inventory up, but WHOA, its amazing! I would venture to say that 90% of my wardrobe is from the Valley Thrift. Like I said, you gotta take the time and you’ll be amazed at what you find.

The people who work there are so rude and mean and inflexible it’s not even funny. I was a caregiver for many years and thus almost never got to go out. One day a visitor watched my dad and gave me a couple of hours out. I went up to the Valley Thrift Store to walk around and found 3 things I wanted. One of them didn’t have a price tag on it, so they wouldn’t sell it to me. They said people like me (really?) took the price tags off to get them at a cheaper price. I assured the cashier I didn’t want to rip them off, told her of my caregiving situation and asked her if they could charge me for it at the highest price they price their items at to assure their safety and my satisfaction, because it might be a year before I’d be able to get out and shop again. I’ve never been talked to so badly, so I left without buying anything. I called the store the next day and got the corporate office address and phone number. I wrote a letter and told them my story and suggested if the price tag was missing to charge it at the highest price. That ended up being just as ugly. I would never talk to someone that had just told me they were a round the clock caregiver and could rarely get out of the house the way those awful people talked to me, but then again — I wouldn’t talk to any one that way.

This is the most organized thrift store in the area! All of the clothing is sorted and not cluttered. Additionally, it seems like this thrift store may really sort out it’s donations and only sell the best items. I was able to get some nice brands of sweaters for the winter that had little to no wear for about $ 3 each!
So, overall, don’t go here if you’re looking for an ugly christmas sweater! But if you are looking for some decent clothing options at thrift store pricing, this is your jam!

Love this place! 25% off on Mondays! It’s a good place to go if you enjoy the hunt! Furniture selection isn’t very good usually, but a ton of clothes, shoes, and knick knacks. Also a nice jewelry department! Also right by St. Vincent De Paul, which is nice for thrift store lovers!

I arrived on a Sunday morning, before opening. What I saw both thrilled and worried me. Standing in front of the door was a mob. Not an angry mind you. A mob of people eager to enter. This excited me, because a wait to get in means people like this place. Worried, because I was afraid I would have to fight for deals.
Upon entering, I was a little disappointed. Outdated merchandise is what I was greeted with. Since I was already there, I decided to give the store a shot. The more I searched the more interesting things I found. Like any thrift store, one can not enter with a shopping list of specific items, then be disappointed when said items are not found. One must enter with general ideas, and hope for the best.
Pricing is random. Take two shirts I found for my son. Both shirts were in the same condition, and had the same subject on them. One of the shirts was $ 0.29 the other was $ 3.99. I’m not sure how they determine prices, but I am thankful to the person who puts $ 0.29 on the tshirts. Mondays are customer application day, meaning everything is 25% off.
Be prepared to dig. If you do, you may be surprised at what you find. When i went they had lots of clothing, vhs tapes, books, bedding, toys, and baseball equipment. There is a sign that says items will not be held. That includes furniture. If coming for furnitur, make sure to bring a truck.
I left with 4 items. Not bad. I will most likely return in the future.

Ok: let’s get something straight, this chain of thrift stores is the absolute best in the city for price and selection. I’m originally from Cleveland and used to my cheap, amazing thrift stores and when I came to Cincy I was worried I had lost my way. But wait, when I found The Valley my life was whole again. This chain has prices like $.09 and $.29 as a regular deal, what more could you want? I’m serious when I say you can find ANYTHING here.

This location has a unique selection, and if you can’t find it here head up north to Fairfield to their Dixie Highway location and let your dreams come true. Mondays everything is 25% off and big holidays like Labor Day and Memorial Day bring deals like 50% off everything! Enjoy your trip and keep an open mind: it’s a thrift store with people of all types and treasures of all smells. Prepare, and enjoy!

I’ve visited this store many times and had great experiences, but due to an absolutely rude and nasty employee I will not go back. I was looking for the bathroom and they are right near the dressing rooms, I was trying to discern what line was what and this employee yelled at me in front of a dozen people that there was a line for the bathroom. I was so embarrassed! Good des aren’t worth horrible treatment!

Valley Thrift store is one of those local rare gems that I found recently while driving around during lunch. There are perennial things that I’m always on the lookout for, but rarely willing to pay full price for.
Books– plenty here. When I go on vacation I like to take paperback books because they are lightweight and easy to carry more than one. I can always find something here I’m interested in reading. Hanging up in most aisles you’ll also see small plastic bags with books bundled together at really low prices (.49, .99) for three or four books. If I find one book in the bundle I like, it’s worth the purchase! As far as hardcover books– there’s a bunch.
Old Electronics– Like a radio for my garage or workshop, extra USB cables, a video game for my now, basically obsolete XBox, etc.
Tips:
— Customer Appreciation Day is every Monday. 25% off your entire purchase. Beware– big crowds and limited parking. The neighbors tow cars, so don’t park next door.
–Check out the items in the corner near the cash register. Jewelry, watches, collectibles, etc. Sometimes you can find something worth buying there
–Don’t expect much customer service here… it’s pretty much every man/​woman for themselves.

If you’re on a mission to find something vintage, you’ll want to give this place a try. I came here last year looking for something to wear to Halloween party and was lucky enough to find a vintage 1970s leather jacket for super cheap.
I’ve never looked for anything that I would wear, say, for work or going out, but there is definitely plenty to look at and choose from. This store is huge.

Basically this is a mega thriftstore with really great prices. And on Mondays it’s 25% your entire purchase…25% already great prices. I do a lot of shopping here for children’s clothing. Basically, my philosophy is if he’s going to outgrow it in a couple of months, why purchase new? I’ve basically walked away with 10 – 12 different outfits for $ 20. Some of the clothes are even new with tags (rare, but possible). Yes, shopping here involves wading through clothes. Yes, there are lots of people shopping here, especially on Mondays. Yes, parking is a pain, even with their large parking lot. Yes, the staff are a little curt and a little I’m-going-to-roll-my-eyes-at-your-silliness. But that’s cool. I’m not complaining, not with these prices and this amount of selection!
There are some rules to remember. If it doesn’t have a tag, you can’t buy it. You can’t use your own shopping bags. Don’t park in the neighbors parking lot or you’ll get towed. All totally reasonable, I think. Selection is changing constantly, which is also great.

I remember coming here when I was a kid and getting lost in all the «treasures» in the thrift store. Since then, this place has expanded and it is apparently all the rage.
I went to the Valley Thrift last week, just because I was in the area, and that was a terrible idea. IT IS SO BUSY!!! I really did feel like I was infringing on someone’s exclusive club because I got stink-​eye from «the regulars» every time I picked something up or dared to move something aside to look at another item. It was pretty messy that day too, what with 517 people packed in each aisle.
I won’t be coming back here anytime soon. It might be different on a week-​day, but I’m scarred. Saturdays at the Valley Thrift are scary.

Best selection of clothing at a local thrift shop. Even the maternity section tends to be well-​stocked, and that’s saying something.
Also, FYI: Mondays are 25 percent off all merchandise.

For those who have not heard, Valley Thrift Store is the most happening thing this side of Reading Road. If I had to make a guess, I would say that the Valley Thrift Store probably makes up about half of Evendales economy on its own. Why do I say this? Because this place is busier than a night club in Las Vegas.
On a serious note, I have never been to Valley Thrift Store on a day where it was not packed wall to wall with people shopping. I recently gave them a visit on a sale day, and they even had to close the parking lot down because it was becoming dangerously crowded. The thing is though, I don’t understand why. Unless they have some awesome clothes, which I wouldn’t know because I never look at them during my visits, I don’t see what the draw is here. Yes, they have a lot of other used items, but honestly most of it seems to be junk to me. Other than about four or so CDs I have purchased here for a dollar a pop, I usually end up walking away empty handed and head over to the St. Vincent De Paul located directly next door.
Regardless of my own personal failures here, there seems to be something happening here, even if I don’t know what it is. Perhaps thrifters interested in different items other than myself will have better luck.

Scary scary place, but for what it is, it is the best in the city. I would not go here for a typical shopping experience however when I am looking for a costume or something weirdly old or specific this is the first place I go. They do not always have what I am looking for but they give it their best shot.
The place is organized very well and you can find what you are looking for very quickly. They literally have everything all at a decent price. But be warned this place is seriously packed every time I have ever been. Be prepared to have patience and to dig what you are looking for.

I had a free day last week, and I was so glad that I could finally make a trip up to Valley Thrift Store.
This is one of the bigger thrift stores in the city, and I was quite impressed by how well organized it was. The selection is large, especially for clothing, and prices for most things seemed comparable or cheaper than Goodwill.
I was particularly pleased to see that staff was bringing out new stock all the time. Literally cart loads were being shelved as I shopped. That means, unlike some other thrift shops, I could stop in any day and find something new.
One downside to the constant stocking was that the staff was a bit in the way. Isles here are narrow, especially for carts, and the staff wasn’t particularly friendly about their need to push through. i sort of felt in their way.
On this particular day, I did score some great vintage Pyrex Bakeware and Fiesta Dinnerware, as well as a few other odds and ends. Overall, it was a good trip, and I can’t wait to stop back in!

My favorite thrift store in the Cincinnati area. The pricing is cheap, very organized and great selection of clothing! I especially love the vintage tshirts in the kids section. They even have a good housewares section.

One mans junk is another mans treasure. This place is packed to the ceiling with clothing, furniture, old electronics, books, and just general junk. If you have the time, you can find some decent items among the junk. I went into vally thrift store with a mission: to find an old reciver for some old speakers, and to find a seeder for my lawn. I left with both items, along with a few pairs of jeans (one of which still had the original tag on them) and a boat load of books. I spent about 20 bucks on all this.
The store is a bit intimidating at first, as the only things in the store that are organized are the clothing. The housewares, electronics, toys, and junk find themselves on whatever shelf has space. The clothing though is indeed organized by gender, type, and size. Its not very difficult to find what you are looking for. Above the clothing racks are racks for shoes (mens shoes with mens clothing, women’s with women’s). If you’re one of those vintage nuts, I’m sure this place would be heaven to you.
The one real complaint I have about the place is their tagging system. If an item loses its tag, its no longer eligible to buy. It gets taken away from you at the register and its up to the thrift store gods to re-​price it and hide it 24 hours later on the shelf. Seriously, it says that on the wall.

I popped in to see what great deals were going on up north.
Valley Thrift is a spacious warehouse with long aisles packed with merchandise. Everything is organized by colors, and shoes are displayed on top of the clothing racks. There are aisle of accessories, purses, infant clothes, strollers, and toys. On the opposite side, you can find household items: everything from bicycles to fax machines to kitchenware and shower curtains.
One of my favorite finds? A Simpsons backpack from 20-​some-​odd years ago, the same one I took with me on my first day of Kindergarten. Somehow, one ended up here, and it was still in perfect condition. While I don’t have much use for it now, it was only $ 2.00, so I bought it for nostalgia’s sake.
It’s easy to leave Valley Thrift was a giant sack of stuff, especially since this store offers so much more than clothing. Most everything is under $ 5.00.

This is the best thrift shop in town for clothes. The selection is good and the place is better organized than most thrift shops. There is a big staff and they work hard and keep busy. The prices are reasonable as well.
Two down sides:
–Price tags are stapled on instead of attached with one of those plastic things. Makes removing them hard.
–Three item limit in the dressing room. Quite silly really. But there’s an attendant who enforces it.

With Goodwill around the corner, and St. Vincent de Paul’s literally right next door, Valley Thrift sometimes gets overlooked.
For it’s smaller location Valley Thrift has a lot of selection. Their clothes are normally good quality, and lots of times the original store tags still on! Most tops are under $ 5. They’re incredibly organized with sizes and styles, so it’s easy to stop in on a lunch break if you’re looking for something in particular.
They also have a lot of random «junk» Now don’t get me wrong, a lot of it is really nice! You can find all sorts of glassware in great condition, and other little odds and ends furniture, but they also do have a lot of just out dated tacky junk. And the dust that is covering it doesn’t help it fare well in moving off the shelf.
They’ve got all sorts of board games and kids toys too. And luggage, and not so great working condition electronics, although I did find a working record player here a few years ago! If you’re looking for clothes and odds and ends, this is definitely a place to stop by. But just know you may have to park around the corner as the parking lot gets full fast.
