Day one: Vanessa, was not only rude but she was very condescending towards me upon entrance. Then seemed very short and annoyed with me asking for the whereabouts of my paper-work(containing my personal info and my childs records) Day two: The CareTaker: Child ratio is extremely inadequate. Being I am leaving the care of my 2year old son, who was a preemie and a bit delayed, I had concern. The day went good(so I thought). Upon pick up my child had his clothes changed. I asked what had happened, «he had wet himself so we had to change him.» I asked what type of wet. «He seeped through his diaper». Me: «Can you please tell me how long he was in a diaper to the point where he drenched his shorts?» I left unsettled, felt as if my child was harmed because they obviously could not simply change his diapers every 2hrs like most childcare facilities do. Day three: Received a call that he simply took a small fall and reassured he was fine. Mothers natural instinct kicked in, «Can you please take a picture and send it to my phone?»(l be the judge of the severity!) Received the picture, IMMEDIATLYLEFTWORKTOGOPICKUPMYCHILD. I am happy to show a picture of m child but I don’t feel like exposing his face. He had a huge scratch from the top of his left forehead to the bottom of his left cheekbone. Upon my arrival, my child was sound asleep. I picked him up, dirt on his«mat», blood on the sheet, freezing in the building, yet he was covered with a thin sheet(his blanket still in his cubby), shoes still on. They didn’t have the common sense to wash, brush, or tend to his scratches. Being I’m a Manager for a Doctor, if you leave a wound untreated(dirt to open flesh), your open to infection. My child woke up on the way to the car, just sitting in his carseat, said, «Mommy, I Owhee» Rubbing his wounds, Tears ran down my face. And never in my life have I ever felt so helpless. Not able to protect my child from that incident. But simply use this as a learning experience. I am appalled this facility is still open for business. I fear for children who are in their care. I will be making a report the Social Service License Agency, BBB, and make a report to Child Protective Services. This is sad and no reply to me from the Manager/Owner.

My son is a year and a half and really likes this place. It is always clean and the day care providers are always pleasant. When he started a month ago he knew 1 – 6, he can now count to 10 and he sings his ABCs with me, not completely clearly but he seems to be grasping them. I imagine they work with him a lot because he is definitely learning new things all the time. They reinforce manners as well because he always says please and thank you. Plus they are the most affordable I have found by far. I would absolutely recommend CHPS.

Disclaimer: I am impossible to please when it comes to daycare centers. Borderline psychotic. I definitely need therapy. So much so that I had to hire a nanny to come take care of my munchkin in our own home because I couldn’t find a place that met my(impossible) standards. That having been said… I enrolled my daughter at Citrus Heights Preschool in April. After doing extensive interviews of all the daycare centers in the area that were currently enrolling and less than $ 1200/month, I settled on CHPS.(And can I please just say that it is SHAMEFUL that it costs so much to have a decent, clean facility which employs non-pedophiles with more than three brain cells to watch your kid?! I mean c’mon. We don’t all have money trees growing in our backyards. Trust me. I’ve looked.) The cost was decent($ 210/week for full-time care) and the staff was very friendly. The infant room was clean. Definitely outdated, but clean considering the little germ disseminators comprising its population. My beef is the infant-to-teacher ratio. Every time I dropped off or picked up baby girl there were no less than 9 or 10 babies, yet I never saw more than two staff in the infant room at one time. Not cool. I have two kids and I STILL want back-up so it’s not them vs. me, so 5-to-1 just seems more than a little insane. I yanked my daughter out after a week. If they added to their staff, I’d probably add another star. If they came up with some magic potion to keep snot-nosed kids from grabbing my kid’s pacifier and sucking on it like some deranged mini-lunatic, I’d probably add another star. And if they somehow planted a money tree in my backyard, I’d DEFINITELY add another star. I’m just sayin.
