After reading an earlier(and so elegantly expressed!) post, I had to make sure another viewpoint was available. Sunrise Recreation and Park District, despite underfunding, drought restrictions, and a huge district to manage, has some of the most community-oriented and, yes, family-friendly programs in the area. Pet-A-Palooza, an annual event at Rusch Park, is one of my all-time favorite celebrations, and I’m not even a dog owner. The SRPD staff is accessible, professional, responsive, and creative. The District offers a number of classes and training programs as part of its mandate, and does them well. Please check out their parks. Look on their map, and find one close to you. These people, and this Distrct, take care of their parks — and you.

Hey thanks for ruining my 4 year olds evening by having some asinine rule about kids either having no life preserve or one that must be «Coast Guard» approved. Seriously? For 18 inch deep water with both her parents close by? Family fun night my ass… I hate that I am already financially committed to your Fall Youth Sports program. Bureaucratic ass clowns.
