This park is a convenient little gem in the Fair Oaks/Citrus Heights area. Great for walking & running, barbeques, and tennis. Its actually a huge park and connected to a smaller walking path that was paved and landscaped after the old and abandoned community pool(eyesore) was demolished. There used to be a lot of creepy overgrown bushes on one side of the park that clearly was being used as a teenage hideout(judging by the trash) but that was fortunately cut back to make room for the future bike trail connection they plan to build. I’ve rented out the covered bbq area before for a company picnic(super cheap). I do have two criticims for this place. One is the enforcement of the dog policy. Hey, I get that you want to bring your dog(as I have) but if you can’t bring yourself to both pick up after them AND keep them on a leash then leave them at home. Not everyone wants your aggressive pitbull running up on them, get it? This isn’t a dog park. The other wish I have is that they remodel the god awful bathroom situation at this park. No doors? Wtf?

I really like the jogging trail, but this park can be a little creepy. Stupid teenagers hang out and smoke pot ALLDAY, there tends to be graffiti and vandalism, someone cut a huge hole in the fence of the tennis court, people tend to glare about dogs(even though they are allowed as long as on a leash and cleaned up after), people hang out and drink and blare music in the picnic area, and once my boyfriend used their(disgusting) restrooms only to find a homeless man bathing in the sink. It’s a five minute walk from my apartment, so I go pretty often anyway, but earlier in the day is best and I’d avoid the trails if you’re alone since they’re rather secluded. So sad because it was definitely nicer a couple years ago.

This is a great park. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I have so many fond memories of this place. Now as an adult I enjoy walking my dogs and letting them run in the spacious green soccer fields! Of which this park boasts not only one but two soccer fields. The field toward the rear of the park has permanent soccer goals. Upon entering the park’s parking lot the park appears small but it is actually deep and larger than it seems. Also there is a network of streams throughout the outskirts of the park which my dogs like to drink from :-) This park is nestled between some quiet residential communities and also has several park entrances through neighboring courts off of Larwin Dr. So you will often see kids and families playing at this park. Moms like to come here in the afternoon because it has a jungle gym for the little one and its usually not crowded during the weekdays. The weekends is a different story. This park is typically packed on the weekends! There is a picnic and BBQ area that can be reserved for parties, adjacent to the parking lot. And the soccer field in the front of the park almost always has a game in session. The only reason I didn’t give this park 4 stars is because its right next to a electrical plant and its so close that you can hear the hum from the electric towers. The noise can be a bit disconcerting and erie.
