The service was outstanding! We came in with around 30 people(baseball tournament) and they actually opened a few minutes early and the service was fast and great! Food was outstanding!

Not impressed. My food was not very good. The service was slow and it wasn’t even crowded. Our server was very good, but just something about the place overall didn’t wow me. I had a combo plate which I chose and enchilada and a tamale. Flavors were just blah. I’m used to flavorful Mexican and this was just lacking overall. I probably won’t return.

Hostesses were rude. Sat bigger parties that came after me before me. I had a party of four and apparently the two hostesses could sit parties of 5AND6 before a party of 4. This was my third time there and this time was the last time. Went somewhere to spend my $ 60! The times I went before this the food wasn’t that great. It’s overpriced for Mexican food you can anywhere else. I’ve had better food from a food truck seriously. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Went tonight with my daugther, ask for a coffee and cream and a lemonade, 2 tortilla soups and chicken fajitas to share. The coffee was cold, only had one creamer, I asked for a second cup, same deal, no cream this time. The tortillas were cold, so they start re-heating a few more… nice gesture, but you don’tbring cold tortillas in the first place… The soup was on the colder side too, I couldn’t believe it!!! Is it because is 10PM… Chips and salsa were good… I had it better before, tonight was a disaster!, I forgive them… will be back anyways… I just hope they startpaying more attention to what they serve!

Never order ribs in a Mexican restaurant if you are hungry. They were the smallest ribs I have ever seen. The waiter said they were pork but must have been guinea pig. The grilled veggies were stone cold and was a very disappointing meal.

I only go here when I have a coupon to use. The bogo coupons are a real bargain and I can never pass them up. The chips have a tendency to be a bit salty but the bitterness of the salsa balances it out. Most of the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of food you get. I love the fish tacos when the catch of the day is tuna. I have only been lucky enough to go once when they had the tuna.

My girlfriend and I come here often enough that when the server comes, we don’t order so much as confirm that yes, we’d still like 2 iced tea, an appetizer of guacamole, and steak fajitas. Because we’re in here a lot, maybe we get better service than most, I don’t know. The service is usually good, and the servers are friendly. We share guacamole & steak fajitas, so I can’t speak for much else on the menu. The guac is fresh made at the table, and it’s as mild or spicy as you like. The only thing I notice is we usually need to salt it a little. I love the steak fajitas, the dinner portion is enough for us to share. Keep in mind the green peppers with the onions are not bell peppers. Refried beans are better than the black, the black beans have kind of a fermented taste we don’t like. Also good: toasted coconut cajeta sundae, as long as you don’t mind it being crunchy. It’s toasted coconut and vanilla ice cream, caramel and pecans. Big enough to share too. The bad about Chevy’s: it’s loud. The music is always too loud. The parking can suck, they share a lot with Red Robin, and the overflow is shared with Red Robin and The Old Spaghetti Factory. Also, they have the worst iced tea ever. They changed about a year ago, and it improved, but it’s still terrible.

Service was friendly and attentive. We were encouraged to sit in the cantina because the restaurant was«busy». The chips are light and crispy and the salsa was tasty. That was the good. The food came out fast. I mean it was like the cook was telepathic. The bad– fish tacos. I like fish but these were super fishy smelling and the fish tasted like it had been sitting for two many days on a hot sandy beach. The beans and rice were fine. The margarita was too sweet. In this immediate area if town there are not a bevy of choices for high quality dining, but I would put this location near the bottom of the list.

I decided to try the Chevy’s again. It was HORRIBLE again! The service sucked, the waitress was slow and had an attitude, the food was awful(how do you mess up nachos?) and the manager on duty on 9÷12÷2013 was just unaccommodating and a pompous pain in the butt. I will NEVER go here again and we had a table of 6 with us. What was unfortunate, it we we there not 2 to 3 weeks before and again had bad service. The waiter was slow, the food was OK, but then the darn card reader when down when folks were paying for their second round of drinks. REALLY? Chevy’s Portland/Clackamas needs to take some pointers from their sister stores in California and Tualatin. People aren’t asking for 5 star service but they do want to be treated with respect and by people who like their job. For goodness sake… YOUWORKATCHEVY’S!

I’m not sure if it was because it wasn’t very busy when I was in for lunch, or if they had different people on the floor, but my experience at this Chevys differs greatly from many of the reviewers below. I thought the service was absolutely fantastic! The manager, Matt, was pleasant and helpful, and the server, Nicci, was awesome, totally on top of everything! Even the folks who weren’t directly helping me(bussers, bartender) were friendly and welcoming. The food was really, really good! Fresh chips and salsa were brought almost immediately, then the fajita burrito I ordered was ready quickly and was quite delicious and filling. So much good food on my plate! It was a fantastic experience, without a doubt the best one of all my Chevys outings. Eat here!

Service was a little slow and not very pleasant-I used to be a huge fan. We asked about items that would be gluten free and were surprised to find out the only meat on the menu gluten free is their chicken. Apparently it was too much trouble for the server to discuss with me, so he sent the manager, who was not really very helpful either… I ended up ordering their nachos grande because I’m allergic to iceberg lettuce-and the nachos came with lettuce. Eww! The portions were generous but the chicken was dry and the chips were burnt. The kids meals were kind of spendy for the portion size and they did not spend a lot of effort on presentation. We asked about the dessert because the kids weren’t offered it. When it came, it was a walnut sized scoop in a cinnamon cone. Family of five for $ 45– I would have rather had Taco Bell.

After my raving review of Chevy’s in Roseville, I thought this one might surprise me as well, but it did not. This is the mediocre American Mexican food I remember. Even the salsa wasn’t as good. Maybe they can’t get good tomatoes this far north.

Chain tex mex. Taco salad was alright, not a lot of flavor. Salsa was terrible. No hot sauce! Not even tobasco, Chula or Tapatio! Need to up their game in the food department! 5 stars for amazing service + 2 stars for food = 3 stars total

The best salsa I’ve ever had. Ever. I’m signed up for the e-club and I regularly get good discounts and coupons, and it makes eating here an inexpensive affair for my 4 person family. The steak and/or carnitas fajitas are my favorite, and the kids menu is awesome. Service is usually great, but I have had the occasional grump of a waitress. Overall, my favorite place for Mexican. The free chips and salsa is impossible to beat!

Ick… I used to kind of like this place, only for the green spicy salsa with anaheim chilies. This place is ick… and they stopped serving the good salsa, so now everything is flavorless and worse than that, icky. It all has a bitter flavor. Fajitas come with potatoes and carrots… No thanks? and aside from some crab enchilada I got one time when my parents wanted to go here, everything I’ve had is disgusting. The drinks are tasty, but have like no alcohol. My husband made grossed out faces while eating and refused to take the leftovers home.

I have been going in here for more than ten years now and have seen every transformation they can throw out there. It used to be a solid 4 or 5 star place. I have been there three times in the last 5 months or so and every time I go in, something is different about them. This time, the menu was shrunk way down. That’s cool, if they can do the menu WELL. It looks like they are focusing on fajitas now. I know a few months ago it seemed to be seafood. My sister was looking for Queso and chips, she was out visiting from Kentucky, where they are not graced with Chevy’s but it’s our thing when she comes to visit. They do not have queso and chips, and since she was there only for their salsa and chips, she ordered their hot wings, which surprisingly are good and not Mexican-y at all. This could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. I liked them because they weren’t taste bud ripping off hot. I got the nacho appetizer to split with her, when she did decide she really did mean Mexican food and not run of the mill hot wings. I did the chicken and steak, we got 8 very large chips on a plate covered in thick refried beans, cheese and meat. They were pretty good. She also got a margarita and said they were really good. Service was great this day, but other days you wonder if your server drove home to get your napkins and bring them back. It never used to be like that a few years ago.

I can’t beleive I haven’t reviewed this. Chevy’s is my old High School haunt. The BF and I would come here at least 2 – 3 times a week. Mainly because we use to order our own entreee(not on the menu) and it was so cheap. Oh, and free chips and salsa. So here it is. Side of Beans .99 Side of rice .99 Side of Sour cream .99 Side of Mexican butter FREE Homemade flour tortialla FREE Salsa Free. Put it all together yourself plus unliminted chips and salsa = $ 2.97. Yeah, we were cheap little bastards back then. Now I order the grown up version of the same thing. Basically, I also order Guacamole, and a Granda Margarita. I think my drink was $ 2.00 for some reason. The«ATYOURTABLE” Guacamole was $ 3.50. They make it fresh for you right there, plus you get to pick mild, med or spicy. Go with spicy, it’s awesome. Total bill $ 18.47. Still better than anything else on the menu. I still love Chevy’s. I just wish the BF was still in the USA to have it with me.

This is soley based on their happy hour! Because you can’t beat $ 3 margaritas(an extra 25 cents for the seasonal fruit one) and 50% off their appetizers. And you don’t get a happy hour sized appetizer, it’s full on the normal one you get. So when I ordered their nachos grande, they were not kidding on the grande. My friend had to assist me on that one. The service is OK, though we sort of had to help our waitress remember happy hour went till 7, and how many drinks we had. Other specials are some of their beers are $ 3, house wine is $ 3. Oh yes, and I love their free chips & salsa.

You know, I’m surprised at all the bad reviews! I never found this place BAD… in fact I really liked it! The previous times we came that is. We came here yesterday to take mom out for lunch. My mother absolutely LOVES the Tortilla soup they make. So that right there was a plus… to see mom happy that is. This time we requested to eat outside being that it was 75 degrees outside. Our table was set up rather quickly and were seated right away. Our waitress came up to ask about drinks or apps. OFCOURSE… The waitress had to say to my daughter, «Ohhhh You got ink on your nose!» WOW… AGAIN!!! My wife replied, «Nooo That’s a hemangioma she was born with.» AWESOME… Now here’s that awkward silence part… Ok…Now that’s over my wife’s debating on asking the girl if that’s ink or a hickey on the side of her neck… but she refrained. We ordered drinks… My mom loved the raspberry strawberry margarita, and our cadillac margaritas my wife and I got were So-So. Kinda heavy on the mix IMO. Normally I order a steak or chicken fajita burrito. Comes out on a sizzling platter which keeps the food hot and over all it’s good for effect. But for some reason they didn’t serve it the way they normally did. Which irked me for some off the wall reason? Dunno… I got the feeling of laziness lurking around. We had a guy mix up some guacamole at our table side. It’s normally close to 9 bucks, but on Sundays it’s only $ 3. I would not get it any other day simply because it’s a VERY small amount. that much for $ 3 is great! But for 9? I would snap. The guy making our guac was a douche too. No conversation, No asking how we were doing, no eye contact… Nothing. He simply asked, medium, mild or hot and nothing more. 15 min later another girl was making guac for a table and she was VERY kind, asking the customers how chunky they wanted their guacamole, the spiciness, etc… that shows your service really depends on who you get. It’s not that I wanna talk to everyone that comes to our table… CUZ I DONT… but when you’re making something for us and we’re waiting for you to leave… a little friendly conversation would help the time and awkwardness pass by. Also, I realized I dont like the outside dinning there. Think about this! Should a restaurant have outdoor seating by the front door? What could be the possible draw backs? Well, when a SMOKER is done with his/her food, where do they go to smoke? OUTFRONT! My wife got up and told a guy we’re trying to eat and are ready to get sick from his cigarette smoke. He was cool enough to put it out and go back in, but 15 min later another person was out lighting up. In my opinion if you have outdoor seating, you should put it in a location that is away from customers smoking out front. A year ago I might have gave them 5 stars, but yesterdays experience just wasn’t what it used to be. I would’ve gave them 2 stars, but mom LOVES the tortilla soup… so i guess I gotta give credit there.
