There is ample parking, it is well lit, you don’t see people walking the parking lot trying to scam you for money(you know the, «I was on my way to testify on the pope’s behalf in outer space, and then ran out of gas types), there isn’t garbage on the ground. I mean, I don’t know what more I can really say about a promenade! It’s not glamorous, but not sketchy either. Good place to do your shopping if the store you want is here.

The Clackamas Promenade is in Happy Valley, right across the street from Clackamas Town Center and thus the corresponding Clackamas Town Center MAX stop, served by the Green Line. It is very spread out, but with lots of parking. They place Kohl’s, Target, GameStop and Cost Plus World Market right in front of you. They have sushi and Grand Central Harvest Bakery right in the promenade. It does seem to have the silly Southern California feel where you are driving around lots of stores in a large parking lot, but this provides lots of much appreciated shopping opportunities. This is also much south of the core of Portland, so it isn’t like it has any negative effect on our atmosphere. This promenade without, but especially with the adjacent mall, exceeds Pioneer Place, the Lloyd Center and Mall 205 combined. Pioneer Place and Mall 205 have limited options, the Lloyd Center could have nicer options, and all of them are rather tacky, with Pioneer Place and the Llyod Center having bad food options. Mall 205 has a nearby food cart pod. Pioneer Place has fancy options and the Lloyd Center has discount options and Mall 205 has discounts, all with lots of transit. This promenade has the benefits and lacks the problems of the other afformated shopping centers. It puts options upon options and transit upon transit within reach. The one mall it does not exceed is just a matter of using a crosswalk. The Clackamas Promenade is a useful shopping center.

The Promenade is fantastic — great parking and a great variety in the type of stores to shop at. Sporting goods, fine clothing, good food, pet food, haircuts, vitamins, banking, cellular, Target, video games, wedding needs and things to satisfy your sweet tooth. You can pretty much find it all without some of the hassle of the mall across the street, plus the parking lot here us far easier to get in and out of.

This could be such a lovely Saturday of shopping! Target, Nordstrom Rack, Menchie’s, Kohl’s, Stanford’s, GameStop, a salon, Tan Republic, Great Harvest Bread Co, Starbucks, Petsmart… HUGE Parking Lot. A generous traffic signal with a huge intersection.

Oh to promenade! I really like this place. The parking is fairly easy, it’s never crazy crowded like the new and improved CTC, and it’s got all the shops you need on a Sunday or Monday: Target Nordstrom Rack Verizon the DMV Sports Authority Great Harvest Old Navy For food you have an Olive Garden, OSF, Chevy’s, Starbucks. And everytime I say promenade I think of those fancy bedangled horses with the high stepping. And I pretend I am one. In my mind.
