Just Delicious Diabetic Bakery

I’m hypoglycemic with a sweet tooth, I’ve tried kinds of sugar free recipes, treats, and bakeries, but this is the best-​and this is coming from a 20 year old who like junk food! Worth the price for sure if your looking for sugar free, full sugar tasting baked goods-​the lemon cake and parfait are awesome!
I’m sorry I couldn’t give a higher review, I want too, but you can see why below.
DIETERS BEWARE~ I don’t think you should believe the calorie count, the ingredients definitely would add up to more too– I GAINED weight when eating these for dessert a few times a week for 2 weeks (gained 5 pounds AND I would eat half a serving or less, and count it for more calories than stated for the whole serving!-so it is WAY off), I KNOW it was these baked goods. I am a very active 20 year old so that shouldn’t happen. And yes, the weight is fat-​not water or muscle-it’s the kind of fat you get from eating a lot of carbs.
I was counting calories on calorie
and I eat mostly vegetables and was losing prior to adding these treats into my diet– so there is NO way it was anything else in my diet. (I’ve had the lemon cake, vanilla cake, and the chocolate and lemon parfaits)
Low rating is for the obviously wrong calorie counts, not the taste.
And I read the owners nutrition disclaimer on her website, and I’ve seen her post it on other people’s comments, but I still feel like something is fishy. I don’t usually gain weight like this-​even from overeating a few hundred calories for a week or two, and honestly they taste full fat and they are made with cream, white flour, and canola oil so I find it impossible as a baker myself for the counts to be so low.

Nice selection. Try the triple chocolate cookie, 15 carbs. The gluten free plain cheesecake is the bomb-​put some low cal whip cream and a few raspberries makes a great dessert.

This bakery saves my life in Texas! I put an order in to be shipped to me every couple weeks. I love trying out all the new seasonal flavors of parfaits they put out! muffins, cookies, wannabees… Everything they do is simply spectacular. Nanette and her work staff are just the sweetest people and they always get my order to me PERFECTLY. A++++++

Wow! A great selection of wonderful baked goods, my favorites include the wannabes (think Hostess chocolate cupcakes on steroids only much tastier), oatmeal cookies, haystack cookies, chocolate eclairs with vanilla filling, scones (try the bacon cheddar-​oh yum), all the muffins are great, cakes and cupcakes and parfaits and the peach pie is so delicious.
The owner is wonderful and the staff are helpful and nice.
Many of the choices are Weight Watchers friendly too!

Amazingly close in taste to sugar-​laden bakery items. So thankful to get to treat myself with my favorites again, cream puffs and eclairs — for about the price of a fancy coffee (and much more satisfying). I thought I’d given goodies up forever after I got diabetes. If you won’t be consuming your goodies right away, freeze them or they get sour fast because there’s no sugar. And, even though they are delicious, don’t overdo it all at once or the Malitol will get ‘ya (look it up if you don’t know what I mean)! I wish they would either open up more stores or offer shipping though. Try not to take offense to the not-​so-​friendly owner/​manager, whoever she is. The other employees are always eager to please.

If you’re diabetic and/​or on a low carb diet, this bakery is a lifesaver when your sweet tooth is acting up. I’ve gone there for YEARS. I recommend the Wannabe, Éclair, Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie, Cookie Monster Parfair, and Cinnamon Roll (it’s sweet enough without the frosting).

I am so impressed! I ate a cream puff yesterday and an éclair today. I follow a ketogenic diet, so I must limit my carbs considerably. The cream puff was 2 carbs and 150 calories, and the éclair was 2 carbs and 200 calories. These are huge items.
Since ketogenic eating is becoming more and more common, I would like to request that you carry more very low carb items. For people like me, a muffin with no sugar but 18 carbs won’t work.
The staff were friendly and totally transparent about ingredients. Can’t wait to go back and load up on goodies to freeze.

My Fiancé and I are on the Keto diet and one of the biggest things we miss, which also tends to be the hardest keto friendly food, is desserts. So, when we came across this sugar-​free bakery we were naturally very excited but also skeptical. We didn’t know how the sugar free desserts would taste, and if they would pale in comparison to regular sugary treats. But boy were we sweetly surprised! This place is awesome! So far we’ve tried the eclairs, cream puffs, and the chocolate chip oat meal cookie, and all have been out of this world! We seriously could not tell the difference, it all tasted so good! This place is a god-​send especially for those who can’t or have a restricted sugar/​carb diet. But in all honesty even if we get off the Keto diet I see us going back here just because everything is simply delicious!

I have had Sugar Free goodies from Just Delicious twice now. The first time my colleague brought me Wannabes and they looked beautiful but were only average. I decided to hold judgement until I tried more. Boy am I glad I did!
Sheila B (@ElvisIsMyMan #TheGirl #Khaleesi) and I ordered somethings to try and get a good representative sample of what the establishment had to offer. We have only tried a few so far but they have hit them out of the park! Remember everything I mention here is Sugar Free. The Canolis werr really delicious with Caramel to die for. A Ricotta filling would be nice but the whipped cream was fluffy and delightful. We tried a Coffee Cake Muffin and Cinnamon Roll for breakfast. Reheated in the oven with a little butter, these were a little piece of heaven! The gorgeous presentation was lived up to by the taste!
The bakery staff was very friendly and the presentation was gorgeous. I could spend a lot of money here. :-) If you are SF and need something sweet, Just Delicious is very hard to beat. Highly Recommended!!!

I had emailed to order a cake for an up coming celebration. They asked that I pre pay. I called and gave my credit card info to the guy on the phone. I was paying only a few days before pick up, apologized, and asked if I could still get the cake, and he said yes. The day of puck up, I called to see if it was ready, but left a message. When I got there, the cake was nowhere to be found. The owner came out from the back and barked that she couldn’t understand my voicemail. Then she told me I hadn’t paid. After her running around the place for a few minutes, I grabbed my phone and showed her the charge on my card. At that point she found it in her computer, but told me that there was no cake. She refused to give me a refund, and started running around again to find proof of the order. Finally, I had to go. I said I would settle for one of the cakes behind the counter. It was lovely, I’ll give her that. She said it would be delicious and started praising her cakes. No apologies on the horrible service, or rude manners. The cake was frozen. Never again. Worst service, and treated her employees terribly.

I purchased a chocolate cake from this bakery in a previous review, which was delicious. I told a coworker about it shortly after, and she got an item that she said was bland and disappointing. I was sad to hear that (nobody likes to give a bad recommendation) but figured it was a fluke.
I got a German chocolate cake the the next birthday instead of just a chocolate cake (I love German chocolate!) and unfortunately it was very bland. It looked delicious, and by all means I think it should have been, but it hardly had any flavor. My husband and I are kind of pigs (hello, diabetes) and we didn’t even finish all the cake we got. Kind of bummed me out.
I wouldn’t be against trying the chocolate one again, but I’m a little hesitant now. Two stars for this experience, but I’m tacking on another because we all really did like the first cake.

We have picked up several birthday cakes over the years. Always fantastic. Service with a smile. Recently we ordered a cake and we should’ve ordered a bigger one because lots of guests wanted to try a piece. Fortunately, we had just enough –but it was very popular with our group!

An incredible wonderful place not to mention the foods are out of this world delicious. The prices are comparable to any other bakery that has sugar. The people are so very helpful and friendly. They actually said to give them a call if I had any questions on anything that I wanted to bake that was sugar-​free how rare is that? To be willing to help me to make my own baked goods. This place is awesome for anyone who’s diabetic.

I’m still impressed with this place. This time I went on a Saturday morning right as they opened. The display cases we stocked full of all kinds of goodies with all kinds of colors. I got my usual cupcakes and decided to try some cookies. The peanut butter cookies are delicious I never would have guessed they are sugar free. I also got a sugar free macaroon cookie. Unfortunately I did not read that it was gluten free and I was a little taken back when I bit into it. Don’t get me wrong I am glad that the bakery can deliver goodies for all kinds of special dietary needs. It’s just that I’m not a fan of anything gluten free myself. If you are in need of gluten free goodies I would definitely suggest checking them out I did see several options for you. I will keep going back here so I can get something new every time. They get an A+ in my book!

It’s great that there’s a sugar-​free bakery, and that they offer a wide variety of bakery items. Other reviewers have focused on the quality of the bakery items, but I thought I’d mention a couple of other details.
First, this is not just a sugar-​free bakery; it is a Christian sugar-​free bakery. There are (inoffensive, but unequivocal) signs atop the pastry counters making this very clear. Now, that may make you love the place all the more, but I wasn’t expecting it and found it a bit strange and off-​putting. Of course, the owners and employees can be Christian if they want, but I’m not seeing the logic behind putting this out there in such a way at their sugar-​free bakery.
Secondly, and in an odd contrast to the Christian element, there is a giant collage of pictures (cutouts from magazines) of Hollywood hotties on the doors to the refrigerators in their kitchen, which are visible from in front of the counters. Again, there’s nothing wrong with the employees admiring the celebs of their choice, but I’m not seeing the logic behind this collection of pics being there for all to view.
These details made me think the environment a bit weird. Also, don’t count on sitting down to enjoy your sugar-​free treats; seating is limited to one table with two chairs. This is not a huge deal, but worth noting for those who might envision sitting down with a group for coffee and a snack.
As for the quality of the bakery items, we tried three things that ranged fairly broadly in quality. The cinnamon roll wasn’t bad, but most will probably want to add the icing for an additional fifty cents. I don’t know whether they can heat it up for you there (I didn’t have the thought at the time), but if not, you may also want to wait until you have the chance to warm it up. It’s not bad as is, but will be positively good with the aforementioned modifications. The other items we tried were a peanut butter cookie (dry, as other reviewers have commented) and peppermint bark (nice taste but odd texture).
Service was slow, with one person initially handling customers, but another eventually joined once the line of customers grew. Despite the less than optimal speed, the service was friendly.
I think that this place is definitely providing a service that is needed and should be appreciated, but they’ve got some kinks to work out before I’d be willing to become a regular customer.

I love how this bakery lists the carbs ad weigh watchers points on most of their items!
I have tried a lot of different things here and have been overall pretty pleased. I have noticed however that the cookies tend to be pretty dry, not moist and soft like I would prefer.
The service is also pretty good :)

The woman who helped me acted like she wished i wasn’t there and kind of snorted the whole time.
i bought a mix of different items, cookies, pasty, ect. I didn’t eat anything great and several item’s, the cookie, were pretty horrible. The were hard as rocks and had no flavor.
I’m not comparing them to other diabetic bakeries because i haven’t been to any others. I’m comparing them to real food and it just didn’t compare… AT ALL.
I will be back to try more items and if i find something that tastes good you all will be the first to know. Hopefully Mrs Snort will be nicer to me or not be there so i might be able to at least have service that is not rude.
I have had no sugar added cookies that i bought at winco which were mass produced «somewhere» that tasted way better had had a soft chewable texture so i am assuming the just don’t make them fresh daily here. I make a lot of baked goods myself so i think i will have to come up with my own versus paying for these.

This review is such a happy one and LONG overdue like 9 days overdue and I apologize to the Owner cause I just got super busy. However here goes:
I had been planning a birthday party for my best friend. She requested Just Delicious Diabetic Delights because of the sugar free goodies. She is on this new kick for nutrition since she has had twins! On October 19^th I went to JDDD to see about a cake I saw online. It was a raspberry filling with bavarian cream… little did I know it was on a puff pastry. Instead of buying individual slices I asked Nanette if i could maybe do a vanilla cake with the same concept. She agreed with a smile and we decided on a vanilla cake with raspberry filling and bavarian cream! Nanette asked if I wanted anything written on it and I said yes. The cake was a bit expensive…8 inch cake for $ 27 but I knew it’d be worth it. We set the time at 4:45pm I told her I knew it was 15 minutes before closing but I work until 4:30pm. She smiled like it was a silly request and said thats fine.
October 20^th as I rushed to JDDD I got there and picked up the cake. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. It was heavy and perfectly «frosted», the writing was perfect, and it just looked breathtaking. I was soo excited to get it to the birthday girl. When I got to the house we opened the box and then the cake. A 3 layer cake is why it was so heavy and the filling and bavarian cream was TO DIE FOR. I cannot recommend this place enough! Its clean, friendly, and has yummy sugar free delights. (BTW on the 19^th I had an amazing red velvet cupcake)
Nanette has a very nice little business and I am sure she will thoroughly succeed as time goes on. She is one of the friendly, most sincere woman in business and I cannot thank her enough for making a HAPPY woman on her 25^th birthday!

One evening I was snooping around the Hawthorne Freddie’s bakery section in search of one single chocolate chip cookie since I’m embarking on a total body overhaul, sadly I never found my cookie.
However, perusing the bakery case I came across a single serving cheesecake… I looked around and realized that my conscience was still checking out the produce section so I made a break for it and ordered the cheesecake. Not noticing the description next to it the bakery lady wanted to confirm the fact that a fatty like me knew that my cheesecake was sugar free. I did not and my heart sank a little, but just then my conscience returned and so I said, well I suppose this will do.
I figured calorie wise it would probably be a better choice, but I braced myself for the worst. Having gone through stints of eating sugar free stuff I expected the cheesecake to be too sweet and have a horrid aftertaste.
I get home and I dive into what I expect to be an awfully weird textured after taste nightmare, but I was shocked. I literally could not believe that what I was eating was sugar free. Had I not known I would have felt guilty the rest of the week and gorged on nothing but broccoli.
Luckily I happened to catch the name of the bakery of orgin — Just Delicious. I googled it later that night and found out that the actual bakery was only a good fifteen minutes away and later that week I decided to check out the HQ.
And was I in for a treat — any kind of sweet yous you want — they have it covered, from cinnamon rolls to cakes to pies to cookies to candies to eclairs to turnovers they got it.
The staff was incredibly pleasant and I felt like a returning customer on my very first trip. I decided to get a sampling of different things to try so that I could figure out if the cheesecake was just a fluke.
Nope! The eclairs are to die for, the cinnamon roll was one of the best I’ve ever had (even full sugar made at home version), and the caramel blondie was ridiculously filling and tasty! My junk food junkie boyfriend split the cinnamon roll with me for breakfast and had no idea it was sugar free and raved about how good it was.

Most of the tags have not only the calorie content, but they’ve already converted that information into Weight Watchers Points Plus
They have complementary nutrition fact sheets. (I noticed that many of JD’s goods are under 200 calories and there was nothing on the sheet over 9 WW Points (AWESOME!!!)
I am told their products freeze well
Noticed some of the samplings were also gluten free
Not only am I really excited about this gem of a bakery, I’m really grateful it even exists — a way to sneak in some decandance with out blowing my health plan is awesome! But for a few of my friends I’ve already referred who suffer from diabetes, this is the first time in a long time that they can enjoy things like turnovers and cupcakes and so on.
So, if you’re reading this please don’t hesitate to try out their amazing baked goods, but also pass the information on to your friends who may have diabetes or who are trying to get back in shape who would kill a man for a slice a pie. They will thank you and I will too — because if business stays good this place stays open and I stay happy!
