I have played at Oregon Soccer Center for the last two years and have watched it slowly go down hill. They recently redid 2⁄3 the walls and made the goals and field smaller but the ball continulously gets stuck in the nets and wastes 2 – 3 minutes of every game because people have to scale the walls to get the ball. You can tell they did not take the time to properly redo the field and it is not maintained well(ie, vacummed and groomed) as often as it should be. They have very few good refs who ref the adult leagues. I have made several complaints about the lack of training of these refs and found by talking to the refs they shadow a game then start right in. They all call different rules durning different games which is frustrating as a player when there is no consistency in game calls. Although I have talked to the manager of the center several times it goes no where. I also play outdoors and there is a true difference in FIFA trained refs and the lack of training of these indoor refs. Our indoor team that has been at the Oregon Soccer Center for over 2 years recently moved indoor centers due to the lack of customer service and the lack of training of the refs here. All the issues our team has are easy fixes but after talking to the center for 2 years about it with no changes and things getting worse we are discouraged and fed up. We have also discovered the fees here seem higher than other centers. If you have kids the experience here might be completely different but if you are an adult looking to play there are other leagues in the area that are maintained better and more bang for your teams buck.

Best thing, it is indoors! That alone at 7:45 a.m. on a rainy Sunday morning will keep this quasi soccer mom going. The parking lot is barely a litte more than packed gravel. I always feel as if I’ve walked into an airplane hanger from some eighties movie. This is a no frills place, which reminds me of my old days at the skating rink. Its a given the field dominates the building, leaving the aisle ways narrow. The video games along the wall are a great idea for the kids that have to wait for their turn. However, it makes passing by a big olé’ cluster fest. There’s a pro shop and vending machines. Did I mention I’m glad to be inside and dry while its a true NW fall outside?
