Homemade food. Brisket sub worth the thirty minute drive from Lebanon. Have to stop every time I’m in Claremont. Everything they make is great. Interesting sodas for sale and yummy cookies. Try the chocolate dipped coconut balls!

It was my first time in it and loved the seafood subs it made me full after I got home.

Drove by this place with my girlfriend a dozen time and finally went in. She got the Philly Steak and Cheese and i was recommended the Brisket. They also served poutine, which is a rare and delicious treat. The booths were simple yet adequate and the service was very polite and helpful. Okay, now for the sandwiches… the steak and cheese was juicy and fresh and cooked to perfection. My girlfriend said it was the best steak and cheese she’s had. My brisket was flavorful and delicious. We couldn’t believe that a place called The Best Subs Known to Mankind could even come close to live up to that name, but they crushed our expectations. This place was awesome. 5 stars and thanks again for the great sub recommendation!

This restaurant really does produce The Best Subs Known to Mankind! The bread is fresh, the ingredients are delicious, and they give you so much for the price that I usually take home a decent amount, especially if I go there with my partner. There really are no better deals if you are looking for something cheap, delicious, and quick.

I don’t know what happened to this place but we went there today expecting a GIANT sub and we got a sub that had absolutely no meat on it. Very disappointed. We will not be going back. It’s unfortunate because we really enjoyed it before, we travel up to Claremont to ride ATVs and always enjoyed stopping here.

Um, yeeeeahhhhhh… I don’t know about you but, I enjoy a secular dining experience, myself… Won’t find that here, though. Keep the Jesus pictures at home, folks. Second star awarded because the sandwiches are actually pretty good. Even the chocolate chip cookie may have been one of the best I’ve had in my life, weirdly enough.

Very tasty subs; even the plain bread can be complimented. The subs aren’t extremely long, but they’re huge. Even the veggie sub with all of the options is delicious. Unfortunately the atmosphere is not great; it’s basically like Subway from the ‘90s, and looks like it was last dusted when the franchise or seats changed owners, who seem to have picked up some religious portraiture along the way. Honestly, the ideal experience is to call ahead, then enter and leave as quickly as possible; but when dine-in is served in a styrofoam box instead of a plate, it doesn’t seem like they want you to stick around anyway. They have a few other interesting food options, which I can’t comment on because I haven’t had poutine elsewhere.

While I can certainly admit that the interior of this restaurant leaves a bit to be desired, with the old school yellow subway booths and dated décor, it really holds no bearings on what is important to me, the food. Which is, simply put, delicious. I used to frequent this restaurant several years back, steak and cheese was always my favorite go to sub. The bread is amazing and all the toppings fresh and plentiful. The meat, whether steak, turkey or hamburger, was always top quality and a single sub was enough to feed you for two meals at a very reasonable price. Unfortunately for me, I was diagnosed gluten sensitive and had to give up these amazing subs about a year ago. That is until recently when they added the availability of gluten free sub rolls! The quality of the gf bread used is top notch. As many people who follow a gf diet know all too well, bread can leave much to be desired, small pieces that require toasting to be edible. You won’t find that here though. I had simple turkey sub with all the veggies, the bread was soft, with just a little bit of crust, and the portion was gigantic. Still more then enough to feed me for multiple meals and with a price tag of only a couple of dollars more then the non-gf version I was more then pleasantly surprised! I’m so glad I can once again enjoy some of the best subs I’ve had to date.

Definitely the best subs in Claremont. They are very generous with the fixings and all the ingredients are fresh. My lack of 5 star is more due to the interior setup which is below average.

just had a really disappointing experience at «Best Subs»…called in a larde order and as part of it ordered the grilled cheese. On the menu it comes with fries… when I picked the order up there were no fries so I asked where they were. I was told that the fries are for the kids meal and not only did I not get them but I was charged more than the menu price. I think there are better wasy to make a profit sir.

The building is a little sketchy and is in desperate need of updating, but when have I stopped a building from trying their food. Best Subs sits at the end of a row of commercial establishments and if it can survive it’s neighbors I wanted to know why. The staff was wonderful and recommended I try the monthly special of North Country Brisket and the owner/cook/etc suggested I had it Reuben style. I think I could rival a sumo wrestler on food quantity and opted to have the sub which was about 6″ of a loaf of Italian bread packed full of goodness. After eating my sub I talked to the owner for a few minutes to learn about the history of the restaurant. It was once a Subway and from the looks of it has never been updated(or possibly cleaned). I read another review about the fries and thought my next sub I would request it to be in the style of Primanti Brothers. However, after talking to the owner about his fries they sounded boring and not a focus of the business. If you’re looking for a good deli sub stop by and you’ll leave full. If you aren’t a fan of out dated dirty eateries just get it to go or eat with a paper bag over your head.

When I first moved to the area I must say I wasn’t a fan. The subs were huge but the meat wasn’t good quality. Well, they have steadily improved that. They offer much higher quality sandwiches now. The Delmonico and brisket is fantastic! Keep it up Best Subs!

Kind of pricey. I guess I expected a ridiculously huge sub for $ 9 but it was about a 6incher… well loaded steak & cheese, pretty edible although the meat quality was kind of meh. The place just feels skeevy, bad vibes, etc. — the doorway into the place looks like a black hole tattoo & hep B parlor. It’s pretty chilly inside, and the fluorescent lighting doesn’t warm things up at all. Drab, in a word. Then, the God posters on the wall in the dining area are just… odd. I’m not especially anti-religious, but I tend not to patronize businesses that push religion… kind of a conflict of interests, I guess. If you get stuff to eat in, don’t expect plates — your food will come out as if it were to go, albeit without the plastic bag. Fold out the greaseproof paper and go to town.

Stopped by this restaurant yesterday, we just wanted a quick sandwich, the service was quick. I have to say I thought the prices were too high, the portions were huge. My sub which was roast beef and cheese was very bland. What I remember most about this sandwich shop was that it was extremely dirty. The dinning area had the most filthy carpet I’ve ever seen, also it looked as though the roof was leaking as several ceiling tiles were water stained. Just overall the place could use soap and water along with some elbow grease. I’m not sure what kind of health inspection the state of New Hampshire has, it would appear it is non existent. I would strongly recommend they pay a visit to this sub shop very soon. I won’t visit again.

Finally checked out The Best Subs in Claremont NH today and it was really good. Had a turkey on toasted white sandwich. LOTS of choices, and the subs look humongous, I went for the smaller«sandwich» size which was still really big. There aren’t many independent sub shops left, but this one will continue to get my business.

Just got me some«Best Subs» and I gotta say, I’m a fan! The prices are pretty low and the portions are huge. The sub I got was as big as the box my fries came in! I got a cheeseburger sub with a small fry and a soda for 10 beans. It was so much food I couldn’t come near finishing it Check this place out, it’s one of the better sub places in town!
