Hubby and I wen’t for a coffee yesterday and expected great things within a great area but were really disappointed. The place is very small and was packed with a ton of regulars(great sign). We got up to the counter and ordered a Chai Latte, coffee and bagel and were very disappointed. The latte was very week and the coffee tasted burnt. The place itself is very dated and kind of dirty and was VERY hot(prob 90 degrees in there!) and there is a lot of clutter behind and around the counter. The staff was very friendly and seemed to enjoy chatting with all of the regulars. We probably won’t be back…

Honestly the best coffee shop around! Amazing coffee and the chocolate donut is by far the most enjoyable donut in the northern hemisphere!!!

Went back to Quinn’s the other day and the lady at the counter could not have been nicer. Very helpful and chatted up everyone in line. Nice to see… I know Quinn’s has a following and everyone seems to know each other. Unfortunately, we don’t live in CH or we would be there more often. The chocolate donuts are still delicious @$ 2.50 each.

I’m a lifelong Clarendon Hillian and I love this place! Mudgen is super nice and is lovely to talk to. They have been in Clarendon Hills for years and I always love the experience of sitting in a cozy«non-commercial» coffee house with locals.

$ 3.75 for a «latte» that was a prepackaged espresso pod and a huge amount of scalded milk dumped on top. No foam or care whatsoever. Are you kidding me? I love to support local businesses and expected from the name and the prices that they would know something about coffee. However I am enraged to pay as much as an Intelligencia coffee on the city and receive a cup of something that I’m not even going to drink. Seriously if you want a coffee you should just go to Starbucks.

Love Quinn’s! Absolutely cannot find a better place to have coffee in the western burbs! The Quinn Family makes each and every customer that comes through their door feel welcome… can’t get that at most coffee shops

This review is for the chocolate donut only. Quinn’s really only features one kind donut — cake with chocolate. It is the best donut I have ever had(sorry firecakes). They cost about $ 2.50 per donut. They are awesome. Try them.

Based on the reviews, I expected a lot more from Quinn’s. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, but that is about all I recommend. Their espresso machine was broken and the gentleman behind the counter didn’t seem to care much. I settled for a small coffee and a piece of soda bread. The coffee and bread were ok but hardly worth the $ 5.50 I had to pay. I also really dislike drinking coffee from a styrofoam cup, which is what they use. Apparently regular customers can keep their mugs on hand and can get a cup of coffee for about $ 2. That beats Starbucks but still… I was just underwhelmed.

I found myself in Clarendon Hills, IL and needed a major caffeine fix!!! I had to choose between Starbucks or Quinn’s. For me, it was a no-brainer, the small local coffee shop will win every time… freshly-roasted coffee, personal service, and usually great food. Living in Seattle, the small shops will always be better than Starbucks and Starbucks is a Seattle-based company! Unfortunately, this was not the case with Quinn’s. I ordered an Americano, Latte, and a Chai Iced Tea. I did not hear that familiar sound of the espresso grinding. Instead I watch the tall balding-gentleman reach for a packet and cut it open with scissors. Really!!! Pre-packaged espresso pods??? Okay, I have had Kuerig coffee and those were okay… maybe he just sold out of his espresso. However, what happened next was the MOSTUNACCEPTABLETHING I HAVEEVERSEEN and this is coming from a 14-year veteran of the restaurant industry. He used his hand to scoop the ice for the iced chai tea. No, he did not scoop the cup into the ice, he grabbed hand fulls of ice without a glove, and filled the cup. If a health inspector had been in any of my restaurants and witnessed this, he would have shut us down in a heart-beat. I can forgive sub-par coffee, but it is hard to turn a blind eye to unhealthy and dangerous practices. It is simply inexcusable. Needless to say, I spent the rest of the week getting coffee from Starbucks… decent coffee and no fear of food-born illnesses.

Two words, my friends: chocolate doughnut. Pair that with a Carameleen Quinn and you’ve got yourself one hell of a delicious breakfast. I hope this place sticks around for a long time; would hate to see it go.

4.5 stars Liked the original inside, complete with creaking wooden floors and that old dining room feel. It has more of a selection of coffee(hence the title) than say donuts or other pastries as they were stored out of a small clear case you’d see in a grocery bakery section. The lady there was very nice. She told me the coffee specials, even though I was only there for the chocolate donuts I kept hearing about. They were about $ 1.75 each, so I got 4 of them and an apricot sweet roll for around $ 2. Donuts were definitely worth the hype as I wished I would of gotten more and the apricot tasted great! They make it a point right when you walk in that cash is king and the lady informed me that they closed @ noon, which I thought was rather early. A must if you’re stalling time for the Metra.

A student, that I tutored this summer, talked about Quinn’s almost every day for five weeks. He raved about the chocolate donuts and insisted that I try them. Well tutoring is over and I had a day off before the year starts to find out if these were really as awesome as he claimed they were. He was right on. The donut was delicious. The cake itself was moist and delicious. It didn’t crumble and fall apart, which is something I really appreciate. The fudgy, chocolate frosting was an equal co-star to the cake. It was smooth and rich without out being too sweet. The freshness of this donut(every part of it) really is the key. I also got a Caramaleen Quin — caramel and vanilla coffee. Sorry not a barista so I can’t get more specific than that… think it’s more latte than anything else. It was also great. I am not a huge coffee person. I usually hit up starbucks — I like my coffee easy on the coffee, heavy on the flavor. I can see why this place can compete with a starbucks a stones throw away. They offer delicious, fresh products at an awesome price. I got a medium coffee, donut, and two specialty sodas for $ 8 something. To me this makes things kid friendly. They have plenty of non-coffee options for kids to go along with a donut they will really appreciate. I haven’t tried the soda yet, but I grabbed the watermelon to try later. I will definitely be back. It makes me wish I lived in downtown clarendon hills!

The fact that Quinn’s serves Intelligentsia is worthy of 5 stars alone, but their fudgy chocolate-frosted donuts seal the deal. A stop at Quinn’s before hopping on the train makes the morning commute a little less painful.

I adore Quinn’s. It is the size of a postage stamp and serves some lovely coffee and ever lovelier donuts! When my husband and I visit, we make a point of going to Quinn’s for a coffee, a chocolate glazed donut — homemade frosting done on site and a paper and it is truly an incredibly relaxing experience and we are among a dozen neighborhood folk all doing to same thing, drinking, reading and chatting among friends with a great donut or two. The coffee of choice here is Intelligentsia and it is brewed to perfection! Thanks Quinn’s, we can’t wait to come back!
