I was just here yesterday. this is by far the most blessed welcoming hospitable hotel I had ever been to in my 31 years on this earth. this staff unconditionally helps any guest there with their warm hearted work ethic. my room was as clean as you could ask for as well. they have a complimentary breakfast and their rate is more than reasonable to stay here. the lobby is very nice in which they decorate based on what season or holiday it is and the surrounding area has all your needs and necessities nearby before you leave this heavenly place. =)

Cheap. Not clean, but not atrocious. Kind of falling apart, but you get what you pay for. Including far right politics and god paraphernalia everywhere.

Great for a small town hotel. Very clean, felt safe, nice staff and little breakfast in the am with coffee and what not. We were going to stay at another hotel next door but looked kind of gross. Glad we stayed here! We also had a pet and it was only a 10 $ fee! :)

Now called Monroe Heights Clarion. Microtel outside sign is still there though. Clean hotel with a typical continental breakfast. If you’re a non smoker, be sure to request a NS room, or even a NS room in the NS floor. Pets are $ 10/day extra. Free wifi

Stayed here a few months back when traveling for work, and I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are small but comfortable — very efficiently organized. The furniture was well used, but serviceable in that nothing was broken. The employees working the counter were cordial and gladly answered the questions I posed to them. Wifi was easy to use. Breakfast was a simple fare no better or worse than you would get at any cheap motel. And indeed, Microtel was quite affordable running me less than 50 $ for the night. My only problem at all was the plumbing was weak — there was insufficient drainage for the tub and toilet. Since I only stayed one night, it barely affected me. Had I stayed longer, then there would have been a problem.

I took a suite with one queen bed. It was hardly sweet. I have a good mattress at home, so it was a tough night for me. I also sleep with queen size pillows at home, so these tiny pillows didn’t do the job for me either. The sofa sinks in too. I’m afraid to sit on it. All in all, it’s ok for a traveler passing thru needing some shut eye. I won’t come back on the return trip.

No choice but to give them 5 full stars. They passed all my specific tests. Keep in mind this is a very fairly priced place, we literally just needed a bed. We stayed for under $ 50 but wow were we pleasantly surprised. First Jes, at the front counter, was very pleasnt to deal with. What I really liked is just the no nonsense approach. My tests are, is the wifi a hassle, it is not, no password no nothing, just log on. Next, I like extra pillows, she just gave them to me on the spot, nice. Rooms are small but very clean, bed is comfortable, and even though the TVs are old school, they are more than adequate. So, I have to give this place 5 stars, because for the category I would place this hotel in, they exceeded my expectations.

It helps that this hotel is new. But it’s a great spot. Clean, quiet and a great location with lots in the area. One complaint. You need better coffee.

When it comes to a motel, this place gets a well-deserved 5 stars. My boyfriend and I were driving from NYC and were supposed to camp in Woodland, PA for the night but a series of storms ruined our plans and we ended up pulling off I-80 and finding this little gem. The lobby was decorated super cute with American flag themed stuff everywhere for the Olympics and the woman at the desk was very nice. They were running out of single bed rooms so she gave us a bigger room with two huge beds for the same price, and she gave us a AAA discount even though neither of us were members. It cost us $ 57(a steal!) to stay in a great, large room. The TV was a tube TV, not a flat screen, but it worked perfectly and I even got to catch the Packers preseason game. There was free WiFi in the room. All the appliances worked perfectly and the bed was super comfy. The hotel was close to a bunch of different restaurants so we went back out in the rain to get a Pizza Hut pizza. And final bonus, free continental breakfast in the morning with plenty of choices. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the middle of PA and looking for a great, cheap room for a night.

The Microtel Inn and Suites at the Clarion exit of I-80, in Pennsylvania, is a true find for a traveler, and worth making a significant adjustment to one’s schedule to ensure a stay there for that night. The Inn is part of a complex of businesses that cater primarily to long-haul truckers. It is a new property, perhaps 5 years old. It is well kept up, clean, and bright. Its rooms remind me of a simple bedroom in Holland or Denmark. They have that modern European look to them. Because the property is new, all of the amenities work: coffeemaker, A/C, shower, and so on. The beds, mattresses, sheets, pillows, and so on are all excellent. The deal clincher is the amazing low price for a room rental. The low price might be a result of competition from other motels for the truckers’ business. The truckers market demand also accounts for Microtel’s free WiFi. Truckers rely upon the internet. The traffic noise from I-80 is audible in the parking lot, but not perceptible in the room itself. Nor do sounds travel much from room to room.(It is possible that I simply lucked out and had quiet neighbors during my two stays at the Clarion Microtel.) I came upon the Microtel by chance when driving from Chicago to New York. On my return drive, I deliberately chose Clarion as my overnight stop, since I was so pleased with the Microtel. The Clarion Microtel Inn and Suites is an outstanding low-end motel. It is new, well designed, well maintained, has free WiFi and its room rental is inexpensive.(The nearby I-80 rest stops might even have a coupon for the Clarion Microtel.) I highly recommend the Clarion Microtel.

Great little hotel for the weary landman. I rent this room for a month at a time and get a monthly rate billed each week. No pool but a good breakfast refridge in my room and a microwave.

I LOVE this hotel. It’s about a five hour drive from NYC/NJ so we can leave work and get here in time for a good night’s sleep to drive more the next day and almost be out of PA before the first full day of driving somewhere. I also like that it feels like a little european hotel room with just enough space to walk around the furniture and not feel boxed in. It’s not somewhere you’d want to spend a week in(unless you got a suite, maybe) but it’s a great, clean place to rest after driving the I-80 all day.
