Great place to go for late nite happy hour and tasty ½ price apps.

If it was possible to not leave any stars I would. My waitress is the worst ever and didn’t even know that when someone ordered an appetizer as a meal that you should send it out with the rest of the food the group ordered. I don’t know how she is employed as a waitress on a Friday night.

Fast food with higher prices. If it wasn’t for the outdoor bar area, this place would never be an option for us. Service is okay, come for the drinks, forget the food.

This place has sadly been going downhill since it opened. My friend and I got our appetizers which were all cold and the sauce on one had even set to the point it had a film on it(this doesn’t happen that quickly…). It was pretty gross. We didn’t get plates or silverware and had to wait to eat half of it until our server came back around a bit later and we ask for utensils. Then our main dishes came out and while mine was made super skimpy(less chicken and tomato than normal) my friend’s was just a disaster. The citrus chicken was dry as a bone and had a terrible sour aftertaste that was nowhere near lime or lemon. When we complained and asked for a different dish they complied and then put the extra dish on the bill… We had to wait and get that fixed before we could pay. When the manager came over both times(once to fix the chicken and the second for the bill) he never said anything other than handing us the items. He didn’t care what was wrong, you could tell at this point they were over their jobs that night. Sad since I live in the neighborhood, but I won’t be going back anytime soon.

I like coming here after church with my wife and kids, however they could be a little«nicer», I understand is a chain but they really need a touch of friendliness… other thing is, they always have the UFC playing on a big screen, I mean, who wants to eat a steak a watch people full of blood? . that’s all. I’ll be back, but it could be better.

If you choose to go to Applebee’s, avoid this one. We Went there when they had first opened last year and had a very bad experience. we sat outside in the beautiful outdoor patio. I was pregnant at the time and was suddenly surrounded by a cloud of smoke in every direction. I politely asked our server If this smoking was permitted in the eating areas and she very rudely replied, Yes and we cannot stop them from smoking and to go seat myself at any available table or booth in the indoor serving area if I wanted and that a server would come to me. Just the lack of courtesy resignated as such a horrible reply. I quietly moved inside the restaurant and sat down, there comes a server after ten minutes not to check on us and ask if everything is ok or if we needed anything, but to tell me who told me it was okay for me to sit myself there? I nearly got up and walked out. I paid and left $ 0 tip. Just an FYI, this area tends to have people that are a bit standoffish and think they are the highest society in the world. Will not be going back to this Applebees or shopping center all together.

Terrible staff. Sounded like there was an absolute brawl going on in the kitchen based on the yelling coming out of there. I was warned by a member of the local police dept that they’ve had some issues with credit card info being stolen out the place. I’m surprised that Applebee’s wouldn’t put more effort into the hiring process and background checking.

This is my second time visiting this particular location. We went once when it first opened and didn’t have a good experience but chalked it up to being new. So today we decided to give it another try. Not much different. The hostess that greeted us at the door never cracked a smile and nearly knocked my daughter over as she gathered our menus. We definitely didn’t feel welcomed. I felt a little better when our waitress arrived all smiles and pleasant as could be. She was the best part of our experience. The kids food came out but we waited at least another 20 minutes before our adult entrees came out. Food was average. As we left the same miserable hostess that greeted us watched us leave and never said one word. From my other Applebee’s experiences they thank you for coming and even at times have opened the door for you. Not here. Don’t waste your time. Go to Chilis down the street. They are much more welcoming.

Came here for happy hour after work with a friend. We were seated and waited, and waited until someone came 15 minutes later. Our waiter Alex informed us that happy hour was over, since by the time he got to our table it was 6:04 so four minutes past happy hour prices. We explained that we had been seating and waited 15 minutes before he came our table. He honored the happy hour price for my sangria. My buddy ordered a beer which wasn’t on the happy hour menu and we shared an appetizer. When the bill came, we were charged full price for the sangria and called the waiter over to rectify the bill. Our waiter Alex proceeded to tell us that 7.50 was the happy hour price(so the drink non happy hour cost $ 15). When we looked at him incredulously, he back tracked and said that the difference between happy hour and non happy hour prices for the sangria was a $ 0.20 difference anyway. At this point it was getting annoying being blatantly lied to, so we asked for the manager to correct he bill. After waiting some more and asking our waiter to please get the manager a second time, the manager came by. We politely explained the situation and to our complete shock the manager said he would try to see what he could do. But he couldn’t guarantee anything as the ticket was already put in the computer. um yes but you are the manager and can override the computer. The manager came back and corrected he bill, but not without leaving us with a sour taste in our mouths. Having worked in the restaurant industry I know customer satisfaction should be priority to a manager. Would I come here again? Maybe, but the manner is which the situation was handled has swayed me away from recommending this Applebee’s to friends.

If you want to have an outdoor dining experience DONOTCOMEHERE! It was a beautiful day outside and my son and I sat at a table in Applebee’s outside patio bar area where seating is not assigned by a hostess, and there were no signs indicating that the table was reserved. As we were about to order our food, the Restaurant’s manager rudely asked us to leave the table and stated that the table was reserved for another party. First of all, I thought Applebee’s policy was that they do not accept table reservations, and second there were no signs indicating that we needed to ask a hostess to be seated in the outside bar area. We decided to just leave the restaurant and go around the corner in Cranford to dine at the«River and Rail Cantina» with plenty of outdoor seating. With plenty of restaurant options around the corner in Cranford and Westfield, this Applebee’s will need to improve their customer service.

It’s an Applebee’s. Nothing more, nothing less. The one exception is that out of the three times we’ve been here, the service from the wait staff has been way better than expected for a chain restaurant. If you’re lazy and don’t want to think about where to go to eat, at least the service here will leave you satisfied if the food does not.

Terrible! I walk in and and didn’t feel welcomed here at all. I asked roughly how long the wait would be and the two hosts pretty much gave me an attitude and rolled their eyes as they responded with a sarcastic answer. I tried to explain that I was asking because I still have to wait for friends to show up and so I don’t know If i should reserve a booth now or not and so I can alert my friends but before I can do so, again I get an attitude. I’m a Clark resident but I’m just going to take my business to Linden Applebees instead as this one sucks! The server was very forgetful which I didnt mind because I assume she’s new to the job but those nasty hosts definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. This place is horrible and I can see I’m not the only one that feels this way based on the other Unilocal reviews left here.

We gave this Applebee’s a try, and I was really hoping that it would turn my partner around on his opinion of the chain, because I really like the spinach artichoke dip there. But we walk in and immediately see a group of servers and the hostess chatting with her back turned to the door, and the looks we were given were not exactly welcoming. It felt like I had bothered them by walking in. We were seated and drink orders were taken, and the dinner orders, but while we got waters and salads and even dinner rather quickly, I was already more than half way through my meal before another server brought the wine I had ordered with my water. I might have asked for it earlier, but our server had dropped our plates and taken off quickly without asking if we needed anything. I got the lime grilled chicken dish from the 2 for 20 meal. The chicken tasted really salty, but the rice that came with it was really good. Because it took so long to get my wine, I wasn’t finished with it by the time we were done eating, so my partner ordered a dessert. We’re pretty sure it was the wrong dessert, but it was good and he ate it. Food was alright – its Applebee’s – but service was much more meh than I expected for a place that’s just opened up and is brand new. Maybe it’s because it was later at night on a weeknight?

Love the décor and ambiance. Does not feel like the typical Applebees. They carry an extensive drft and seasonal beer selection which is great. Outdoor patio is cozy. Again, this franchise locationhas managed to break away from your usual ABs.

It’s hard to believe a brand new spot can serve food with 10 year old, dirty silverware. It’s the first, second and third thing we noticed only because they kept bringing back dirty silverware. There is a lot of staff and they all stink– slow to respond, follow up and refill your water. The food is B– rated but we didn’t think we were dining at Lutece. The hair in the dipping sauce added an unusual touch, though. I didn’t realize each restaurant features the community with pictures of sporting events and every day people. I was impressed. After that, I was depressed. Oh well.

This Applebee’s forgoes the traditional scrapbook-like décor of other Applebee’s for a more modern, almost Brooklynite-hipster ambiance. Think lots of natural wood and chalkboard paint with large quirky typography. Overall, I think it’s a nice re-vamp, and makes the place feel more like a real restaurant. I like the outdoor patio with the fire pit and large flat screen. Looks like a cool place to chill or watch a big game. The food is… Meh. Came out hot, tasty and at a decent speed. What do you expect? It’s Applebee’s, not the Ritz.

The staff was mediocre and their customer service is awful. The food came out cold and they said they didn’t have the drink I wanted. Then they brought out my correct drink after a 15 minute wait. I understand it’s a new establishment, but you’re paying your staff to work and make customers happy, not paying to chat. I’m gonna try coming back in hopes they have their stuff together for our next round ! Here’s to trying to think positive!

Considering this was a new location, we expected to possibly encounter some issues. Contrary to the negativity that was posted here, we didn’t encounter any. We came in at around 5:45pm on a Saturday evening. Even though the place was almost crowded, we were seated within 5 minutes. After another 5 minutes, our friendly waitress came by to take our drink orders. Because we’ve patronized other Applebee’s locations in the past, we already knew what to order. She gladly took our food orders as well and then walked away. After another 5 minutes, someone from the bar came over to deliver the beer that I ordered. But before she placed it on the table, she said, «Hey, wait a minute. Are you old enough to drink?». I said, «Yes, I am». Then she said, «Oh, uh, okay. Enjoy.» Hmm… Well, needless to say, our waitress didn’t proof me when I ordered the basic sized Blue Moon White IPA. As with previous experiences at other Applebee’s locations, we opted for the 2 for $ 20 deal. The portions received are always good enough to share and to take home. After another short waiting period, our mozzarella sticks came out. The coating was crispy, the filling was gooey, and the sauce was tangy. This was no different than any other Applebee’s location that I patronized in the past. As we ate, our two entrees came out. The first one was the Oriental Chicken Salad. The vegetables were well-cooked, the chicken was crispy, and the salad dressing was light. This tasted the same as the other locations. The Three Cheese Chicken Penne contained gooey cheese, hot penne, mini tomato cubes and grilled chicken that was well done. Nothing was unusually salty here. Again, the taste was not different than any other Applebee’s location that I patronized before. We ended up taking a small portion of this home. Of course for dessert, we ordered the shooters. My parents had the strawberry cheesecake ones, and I had the chocolate mousse shooter. None of these were too sweet. This was a good way to end a nice dinner. The whole place appeared to be clean with modern decorations existent throughout. Even the restrooms were clean too. I actually noticed that the handle on the bathroom door is different. It’s angled in a way that you can simply use your wrist to open the door, instead of your hand. But still, like others, we used paper towels to open the door. We saw the manager at the exit, and she asked us about our experience. We told her that we didn’t encounter any major issues in regards to the food or service. She says she’s glad to hear that since she has received so many bad reviews from different sources ever since this location has opened up. Well, I wish her luck in remedying the issues that were brought up by other customers. Overall we were satisfied with our experience. The food quality and service received was excellent. This location is even closer to home than the one on US-22 in Union. We’ll definitely be back later on.

This is a new Apple Bees, same processed food as all, but great atmosphere; outside eating with a bar and big screen televisions in the outside patio. A great addition to Clark.

This place is just ok — Finding parking was horrendous — Could be because this is a new shopping center and everyone and their mother is going to check it out. The service was beyond slow — We ordered our apps and they came out about 20 minutes later and the food arrived at our table 30 minutes after our apps. The place wasn’t terribly busy so I don’t know what the hold up was. One good thing about our visit to this location was friendliness of our server. She was very apologetic for the hold up and did check up on us to see if we needed any refills while we waited for our food.
