Heringer has great wine and even greater customer service. My car was broken into shortly after attending a wine club event at the sugar mill. The thief had good taste because the only thing they took was 6 bottles of wine I had picked up at the event that I was taking to family for thanksgiving. Heringer was kind enough to extend a discounted offer to replace the bottles that were stolen. Thank you again Heringer.

Tannat is my new favorite wine from Heringer. All their wines are solid, but I tried the Tannat for the first time yesterday, and the heavy bodied wine is perfection. I think I need to go back and buy a case of it!

Update: I finally received a replacement bottle (actually, two) of the Moscato wine. The woman who offered me the gift certificate, emailed me about a a month ago explaining that they recently changed some stuff in their system which is why I may not have received the gift certificate. And instead they sent me two bottles of wine. I received the wine in about a week. I was very happy, finally my parents got to try the wine I bought for them as a gift and I got to keep the other bottle for myself.

We had relatives in from out-​of-​state and decided to check out the wineries, so nice that we ended up at Heringer Estates. Bob was the wine enthusiast that led us through our wine tasting and he did a great job! Very informative and fun and we purchased several bottles of wine, whites and reds. There were so many wines that we enjoyed it was hard to choose. My husband and I plan to return again soon and will keep it in mind for future visitors.

Excellent service and great wine here! I was able to find some fantastic Christmas gifts and even a great white wine for myself.
Beth helped me and was phenomenal! I overheard some people talking amongst themselves out on the patio, and they were raving about this winery and the service they had from Beth and said it was «the best wine tasting experience they ever had» so I had to check it out.
She was extremely knowledgable about the wines and paid close attention to what each of us wanted, since we all wanted something a little different. She was thorough with her explanations of each wine and was extremely personable.
This was overall a great experience, and the sugar mill is beautiful. Not to mention, super clean. :)
I highly recommend this winery and make sure to see Beth!

We were visiting from out of state and I loved learning about the local agriculture and vineyard history. We had personal service and the wines were fantastic! Ask about the Eco Cask Blend!

First winery in the area that caught my attention with it’s wines! The family run business is so welcoming, you have to join! They have lively vineyard events to attend.

This was one of the first wineries I went to ever. And I still continue to enjoy it. The staff is very friendly, and happened to remember me from my last visit in Nov12. They have a wide variety of wines, from sweet white wines, to some inky dark Petite Sirah and Petite Vedot. They have a wide variety of wine clubs, each with its own percentage discount. I am more of a cab drinker, and sadly the closest they had was a cab franc, which was equally as good!
The staff let me try all the wines they had open, which was amazing. Pretty fun tasting the different varietals!

Love the wine and the family!
We have been wine club members for many years now and have attended many great events. We love the summer parties they have had and all the events at The Old Sugar Mill! I also appreciate that they give back to the community and support local school fundraisers.
Purple Thread is my favorite wine!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were generous in letting us sample whatever we wanted and even let us have another splash of one we had already sampled. They suggest joining their club, but don’t push that onto you at all.
The wine tasting experience was very enjoyable and I left with a nice bottle of dessert wine.

Oh boy! This was a jam session, and I didn’t even rock out!
The wines here are overly sweet, lacking quality and jammy.
The lady pouring was a bit prudish and not very inviting. The tasting room is one of many inside the charming Old Sugar Mill.
Maybe the wine maker here should stop rocking out to «Pour Some Sugar On Me,» and think about tannins, structure and balance. I couldn’t even muster up the ability to buy a bottle. I already have plenty of jam at home.

I am very happy with this winery! My fiancée and I were previous members at another (unnamed) winery in Amador, which we left because we no longer felt very ‘welcome’. We signed up here after trying their wine and enjoying chatting with the tasting room staff. All their wines are excellent! I think their purple thread is their most popular, but my favorite is the Italian Blend. This is a must stop!
Oh, they also have goldfish for pallete cleansers!
