Brass kings is run by a Father-and-son team that works all week and frequents the gun shows on weekends. They carry almost every brand name in the industry: Remington, Winchester, Fiocci, Aguilla, Federal and many others, as well as their own newly manufactured ammo(new Winchester brass) that is sold at competitive prices. Brass kings has obtained hard-to-get items for me several times and is always friendly and helpful. They have always been upfront and honest in dealings with me. To be fair to another Unilocaler, they do have a surcharge for credit card purchases, but so do 95% of the vendors at the gun show and Brass Kings does post its charges in the open. If you need bulk ammo, hard-to-find calibers or just plinking ammo at a fair price, you can’t go wrong with Brass Kings! They work hard to provide customers with what they want and need.

I had the misfortune of trying to buy ammunition from The Brass Kings at a gun show in Dayton, Ohio. After selecting a box of .357 hollow points, I went to a booth operator and asked if he accepted credit. He said yes, and I was happy to keep a my cash in my pocket for lunch. When he showed me the receipt, I was surprised to find the purchase cost $ 2 more than expected. I asked about it, and the booth operator said I was charged 4 percent as a credit card surcharge. I told him if I’d known that, I would have used cash. He shrugged. So I asked for the difference back, and he refused. As a good Unilocaler, I informed him I’d be writing a Web review of his poor customer service. He told me to «go right ahead.» At this point, the business owner walks over and shouts, «Give me that. I’m not going to stand here and argue about this!» He takes the ammunition, takes the receipt and reverses the transaction. Meanwhile, he asks me, «How did you know we take credit?» «I asked him, and he said you did.» «Well, don’t you see THESIGN?» Behind him, written diagonally in cracked permanent marker across a small plastic board covered in cracked Visa and Mastercard stickers, appears to be something like«4 p ~ %.» Nice sign, guy. Anyway, I’ll know whom to avoid at future gun shows.
