Chilango’s Mexican Restaurant

Did never get to the food to taste it, waited over an hour from the time we ordered till we decided to tell the waiter that we were leaving and never come back, do not go to this place if you want to eat.

When we have to wait at our table for an hour to get the daily special, then you only get 3 stars. The restaurant was only half full at 1:30 PM. We ordered the besitos (3 stuffed, bacon wrapped jalapeños) as an appetizer and waited 40 minutes for them. They were excellent. We were literally walking out the door 20 minutes later to go somewhere else when the waiter brought the entrée we ordered to share.
The food was good — carne asada was cooked well and the rice & beans were decent. Being from San Antonio, this Mexican food was nothing special and certainly not worth an hour wait at the table. Chips were good, salsa was bleh, waiter was attentive and I know the slowness was the kitchen and not the waiter.
We were just passing through Paris from Oklahoma to San Antonio. So, we won’t be back.

The food was fabulous! The servers were great. The timing on the food is why it is getting a 4 instead of a 5… it just takes a long time for them to cook and serve. However the portions are huge, so that was a big plus in my book! ***and they had great sweet tea****

Very good Tex-​Mex. The food is very good, the prices are good, the wait staff were excellent. Would recommend to friends and family anytime.
