I am NOT mechanically inclined. And, as manly as he may be, neither is my husband. I usually have good intentions when attempting to fix a broken appliance and it ends up becoming a bigger mess than before. So I’ve learned when something breaks, just call the experts and sit on the couch watching TV while they do what they do best! As first time homeowners of a new construction, non-custom home, we’re learning quite a bit. Such as «the appliances they put in these homes aren’t exactly the ones you’ll see Kelly Ripa advertising on TV.»(Read: they’re pretty crappy.) After just 2 years of home ownership, it seemed everything was breaking all at once — dishwasher, fridge water dispenser, microwave, washing machine. Yes, I literally meant EVERYTHING. After our dishwasher kept crapping out on us, when company was in town, naturally, I gathered a list of appliance fixers in the area and got to calling. Ely’s was the third down on my list and was the only one who answered his phone on that regular business day. He had my business based on just that. I went over the issue with Mr. Ely on the phone and he actually ended up walking me through a few steps that fixed the problem! I was shocked! He spent 15 minutes of his time with me and saved us some $$. A couple months later, after being without a washer throughout the entire holiday, we finally sat down to get it fixed. I placed Mr. Ely at the top of my list when calling to get estimates since he was a big help last time. Similar to last time, he was 1 of 2 out of the 4 appliances fixers in town I was calling. He sounded confident on the phone when I described the issue to him AND his estimate was lower than the other guy. Best part? He was able to come out that SAMEDAY! Mr. Ely showed up EXACTLY on time and had the utmost professionalism while still being down to earth, friendly and hysterically funny! He diagnosed our issue and said he would have to order our part. He maintained communication with us in the day and a half it took to get our part and again came when he said he would to do the final repair. Mr. Ely is a FANTASTIC repairman and businessman. He for sure has our business for the remainder of our time here and we will do our best to earn him business from others we know as well!
