Frontier Basement Systems

Manuel Bravo and his crew mate did an excellent job on my house project. I had some spray foam insulation work done on my garage/​basement. Manuel called when he was on the way; and when they arrived, we talked through the work to be done. The finished project was exactly as I expected and hoped it would be. Polite and pleasant, and qualified is how I would describe this crew.

Hired to encapsulate our crawlspace. Team included Jeff and a 4 man crew. We have a cellar and then two different crawlspaces. The crawlspaces were very tight, these guys founds snakes (dead and alive) down there but weren’t deterred. They leveled the soil out, took before and after photos, sealed up our foundation vents and coated our previously horrible cellar into something that the family isn’t afraid to go into. Excellent service, super friendly team. I offered them a tip and they looked at me like I was an alien :-)
Stayed late to get the job done and I never heard a single complaint from them.

Frontier encapsulated the crawlspace under our house. We had some severe moisture issues under our house, the wood beams were rotting away. Frontier did exactly what they said they would and it looks great! It was expensive, but I believe it was worth the investment. My next step is going to be adding a dehumidifier, if necessary — although the encapsulation has already reduced the humidity in the crawlspace dramatically. The team that did the installation arrived on time and did a wonderful job. I have no complaints with Frontier and would highly recommend them to others looking to encapsulate.

I would not recommend this business to anybody. I contacted them about insulated my house by spray foam the attic, part of the garage, and insulate above the shingles. The work date is scheduled mid October for 4 days. The first day the worker show up in the afternoon. According to them, they have somewhere else to be before they work on our house. Whatever, they got most of basement done on the first day. Second day, they called to let us know, there’s an «emergency job», so they have to leave early. On the third day, there’s still not much progress. I contacted them know. Nobody has any clue. We were informed later that the equipment is malfunction and they would have to order equipment and will finish it the next day.
Apparently the new equipment hasn’t arrived, and they can’t finish the job. The had to reschedule. On top of that, we had to be out of the house the whole time they work on it, because of the fume of spay foam.
They had to reschedule twice. We started the project on October, but didn’t get finished until December. On top of that they weren’t able to finish part of the project due to the structure of the house. However, we weren’t inform about it until we asked.

In previous reviews I have chronicled the lack of response from this company. Today I was able to speak to the owner, who explained in great detail what had gone wrong. He sounded totally embarrassed that his company let me down the way it did, and did explain that a former employee was the first one to drop the ball on my project. I could not have been more pleased with his non-​defensive, apologetic attitude, and understanding of our changing circumstances. The real measure of a company is not that they make mistakes, but how they respond when mistakes inevitably happen. In my opinion, Frontier Basement Systems has responded very well in correcting this mistake.

My house is 17 years old and is starting to show its age, plus the builder’s didn’t insulate this place well at all. So I Googled companies who offer total insulation and waterproofing services and Dr. Energy Saver/​Frontier Basements came up. I called them and Andrew came out, spent 4 hours at my house, did a complete assessment and made recommendations as to what can be done. I ended up getting both of my previously non insulated cantilevers taken care of and sealed and insulted, had cellulose sprayed in the ceiling of my garage (which happens to be right below my master bedroom) to insulate that and keep it comfortable and had my crawl space encapsulated. Brandon was the foreman for the crawl space and Fernando was the foreman for the cellulose and cantilever job (he also oversaw the spray foaming of the rim joists of the crawl space). Everyone was great, the teams were very clean and professional and I am 100% pleased with the work. They completed each job in a day and when Fernando’s team went in to finish the crawl space spray foaming, they discovered a slow leak in one of my drain pipes that had created pools of waste water in the newly finished crawl space. Not only did they alert me so I could fix the leak, they cleaned up the waste water and put a bucket under the pipe so it would catch the water until I could fix it. I would recommend Frontier Basement Systems for all needs of this nature. They are excellent and do more than just basements. A+ in my book.

Frontier Basement Systems were totally helpful and professional. My issue was time urgent, and they made extra effort to be there asap. I am a new owner to the house, and Jason fully disclosed every issue and process of the inspection and went out of his way to explain how every part of the system works (which was installed before I was the owner). I definitely recommend these guys.
