This store is a great stop if your in the area. It has a sister store in nearby New Albany. The beer selection is perhaps unmatched in southern Indiana This store is always a nice change of pace as they are able to stock some beer and wine items not available across the river in Louisville The owner and the staff are class people and always go out of their way to help you if needed. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Southern Indiana.

The Keg is a blessing for anyone on the north side of the river. It’s where we can get our favorite local craft beers in bottles and chilled wines, along with everyday brews that are already refrigerated and ready to go. Their wine collection is eclectic, but definitely not without their staples. They have chilled wines from about $ 5.00 all the way to $ 40.00, that’s definitely a plus for me. They have many local wines such as Huber’s wine, Old 502(including After Choc!) and Easley/Reggae, and the everyday grocery store wines like Barefoot, along with Asian inspired rice wines and other neat selections. The beer is pretty much endless here. And if they don’t have it, ask them to order it. They have a vast selection of refrigerated brews, including plenty of local craft beers to choose from. They also have a good cider selection, Stella, Woodchuck, Strongbow, Angry Orchard, etc. Wine, ciders and beers aren’t the only drinks they have; they also have the newly popularized Not Your Father’s Rootbeer and the Coney Island variety. The Keg has plenty of hard liquors behind the counter and you can order kegs for parties(hence the name). They definitely aren’t lacking in the rum vodka, whiskey or bourbon department, or any other spirit for that matter. One of my favorite things about this place is that they have brands that you know, with selections from that brand that you wouldn’t see elsewhere. Overall: Excellent place to grab your favorite wines, liquor or beer.

Picked out a bottle of wine with a sticker price of $ 17.99. Wine rang up for over $ 20. Cashier said he could not honor the sticker price. Left without the overpriced bottle of wine. Will not be going back to the Keg.

I grew up in Clarksville and must have drove past The Keg a thousand times. I’ve been pleased to see a run-of-the-mill liquor store turn into one of the best craft beer destinations in Louisville. Anytime I’m nearby visiting family I make a stop here to get beer that’s not distributed down to the KY part of the city. Their bottle selection is excellent, and I always look to see what they have from Three Floyds, Tin Man, Flat 12, and Two Brothers. They allow for mix-packs so you can always try out something new.

Located just a short drive off of I-65, it’s an easy find. It looks unassuming from the street. Look for the vintage looking Keg Liquors sign. Inside you’ll find a very spacious, nicely layed-out, and well-stocked store. Not much ambiance to speak of. Just looks and feels like your typical liquor store. But their selection and staff more than make up for that! Their selection of craft and import brews is extremely impressive for a smaller store like this. Two large isles and several coolers stocked with a massive selection of imports and microbrews. Lots of rarities that you probably aren’t going to find anywhere else near here. What’s nice is this is a 5 minute drive from downtown Louisville, but being that it is Indiana, they can get a whole hell of a lot of different breweries that aren’t distributed in Kentucky(ie, Louisville). Keg Liquors is absolutely world class! The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and talkative. This is especially true for the owner, Todd. The man knows a hell of a lot about beer! I work not far from here and visit often. Not once have I had a bad experience here. Instead I find myself looking over the beer selection for at the very least a half hour each visit,(usually longer). Their selection is constantly rotating with seasonals and rarities coming and going all the time. So you pretty much have to look over everything each visit or you might miss something special! Prices are typical,(on average about $ 4 — $ 14 for a 22 oz bomber and about $ 8 — $ 14 for a six pack). If you are visiting Louisville or Southern Indiana, this should be a mandatory stop. They do frequent beer tastings, and you simply must come out to their annual«Fest of Ale» beer festival!

This liquor store has a great selection in stock. The manager has ordered special beers from breweries in different states on request. I live in harrison county and have always made the drive to go to this liquor store. However a recent event has left me disgusted with how I was treated by employees in the store. When it came time for me to purchase my second keg from the store, I called first to make sure there was a half barrel of miller lite in stock. I was told they had two in stock. I decided to make a special trip to get the keg that night because I needed the keg by the end of the week. When I arrived, I was told they only have two pony kegs. I was disappointed I drove from Harrison county to find out they dont have it in stock. The sales man said that he would get one for me by Friday on special order and that he would discount it. I left the store with a good feeling that things would get taken care of and be informed when it showed up. Friday around 2pm my keg finally arrived and when I showed up at there were two ladies working the store who I have never dealt with in the past. She indicate d she knew all about my situation and rang up my keg at full price. I kindly said to the lady that I was promised a discount on my purchase. She stated the company policy to me and I explained my situation to her and was told to «get over it.» She started throwing another employee under the bus for telling me that. I told her that I didn’t appreciate how I was being treated and that its bad business to be lied too on multiple occasions. As I was leaving with my keg the lady changed her tone and said she would speak to the manager for me. I quickly informed her I would be informing the manager that i will take my business to a closer liquor store and would reach out myself. Since then I have spoke to the manager, he apologized for the situation but didnt seem to concerned that I was taking my business to a competitor. With all this said, I take my business to another liquor store now because of how I was treated by employees.

I come here anytime in Clarksville and need to stop for beer on the way home. I’ve always thought Indiana laws were weird and you have to go to an actual liquor store to get cold beer so I’ve grown to get used to liquor stores vs drug store/gas stations. This store has plenty of selections and the guys at the counter are always friendly.

The Keg is one of the few reasons I cross the state line and now that I think about it… All of the reasons I cross into Indiana usually involved alcohol. Mmm beer… oh right! We are talking about the Keg! It’s a great place with an unmatched selection. I usually come out to the Keg when I’m feeling adventurous and want to interact with the owner Todd. If you want a great guide and information on anything in the store grab him. He’s a wealth of information and he’s always helpful. Tell him if you don’t see something you want. He will most likely let you know if it’s available in the area and get it for you. Add the Keg on facebook and look out for tasting events! They’re always a blast!

The Keg has an amazing selection of beer from all over the place including some of the best locally brewed beers. The ability to buy individual beers and create your own six pack is nice for those wanting to try out something new without worrying about getting stuck with five beers you don’t like. On a couple of trips there they have been more than willing to make suggestions on what to try based on previous favorites. The Keg is definitely the place to go when it’s time to restock.

A liquor store is a liquor store, right? Wrong. Here’s why I bravely cross the state line to come here. 1. Unmatched selection. Anything available in southern Indiana is available here. A good selection of wines and booze, but for my money, it’s bitchin for brew. Countless imports, plenty of micros from around the country, and when New Albanian has a special release, it’s guaranteed to be on these shelves. 2. You can mix and make your own six pack. This can be hugely beneficial when you’re staring at a fridge with ten kinds of pumpkin ale that look identical. 3. Indiana ain’t Kentucky, and consequently, their distributors carry brands that don’t find their way across the Ohio, including some Indiana brewers(e.g., Sun King) and some national(New Belgium). 4. They periodically schedule free tastings, usually with representatives from the brewery/winery/distributor present. Wine tastings about once a month. Seasonal beer tastings several times a year. Check their events page.
