Waited over 10 minutes to order. Had to speak to the speaker before the offer to order was made. Ordered a salad with french and ranch dressing. After pouring the dressing on the salad I realized its not french at all, its hot sauce! This just ruined this moms night! Ive been in Clarksville for years but never ate here. Wont be back now.

First off, I ordered macaroni and cheese kids meal and they put the container on top of my cheeseburger completely smashing it! Secondly, the«cheese» is sooo completely hard it’s a big block! It’s completely un-eatable!

I hate that each time I’ve been to steak and shake I’ve had to wait to be greeted at least 5 minutes. It’s just rude! Well in this particular evening… As my family and I stood there waiting to be greeted/seated in a ¼ full restaurant… I took a look at the wait staff and realized how sloppy each and every one of them looked. Hair just a straight up mess in a half ass pony tail looked like they just rolled out of bed. Then, I look over at a waitress and witness her stick her finger in her ear and dig it while she stands at a table with customers… How they did not see this is besides me. Then, this same waitress comes over immediately after to greet and seat us. I cringed at the thought of her serving our food with her ear doo doo fingers. I thought about saying something to her like maybe you should wash your hands but she turned out not to be our waitress and this place seems like the kind of place where they would spit in my meal so I kept my mouth shut. Usually I would have left and not thought twice but my family was dying for steak and shake and the weather outside was so cold and we had just gotten our first snow fall it was a little dangerous to be driving around and she wasn’t our server so I went along with the bs. Our server came finally took our orders and seemed a little more put together or maybe it was because he had short hair and didn’t have the opportunity to throw it Into a sloppy bun. I order the footlong hot dog and western burger to share between myself and my daughter. My husband ordered a burger and my son per usual got chicken tenders. The food took a while to arrive and when it did it was border line room temp/cold. I immediately asked our server for pickles and a knife(I was sharing with my daughter a hotdog and burger and needed to cut both into halves) when he left my son went to dig into his chicken tenders and found a hair. Gross but really why am I shocked? And not just a lose hair but this hair looked like it was deep fried with the tender because it was stuck to it. Longest Hair I ever seen. I told my husband we will let our server know as soon as he returns with my knife and pickles… Well he never returned. As my daughter and I sit there staring at our meals we once wanted to share and my son sits there staring at his tenders he can’t eat and has to wait on them to cook over again… I see our server taking orders left and right and making drinks and talking to other coworkers… by now my food is colder then cold and I tell my daughter to just eat the burger and I’ll eat the hot dog. Finally we dive in and everything is cold and fries are stale. Finally the see returns and asks us if we are ok. I told him to check out the long hair in my sons food and that I was still needing a knife and pickles. He seemed apologetic and offered management to come or to comp his meal. We declined and just asked for new chicken tenders and if they could do it fast as my 6 yr old is hungry. I reminded him once more before he walked away that I needed a knife and pickles. He left and never came back with a knife nor pickles. My sons tenders arrived and by now I’m half way thru my meal and I stop my server on his way to the table next to us and remind him again for just pickles this time seeing how my daughter and I started eating our meals separately. He says to me «sorry about that the pickles are sitting in the window Now I can go grab them for you but is it ok if I just take their order really quickly?» What!!! As I stared at him in shock… I responded sarcastically«go right ahead I’ll wait» he took their order and vanished to the back where I assumed pickles were in route to me. Iwas wrong. No pickles. By this point the pickles were irrelevant because I had already eaten my entire meal without it. I told my husband that when comes back to ask him for that plate of pickles he said was in the window ask him to box them to go. As a smart ass way to make him feel like an ass for forgetting the pickles AGAIN! But in a joking friendly manner despite my anger for the garbage service… And my husband did just that! He asked him«can we get the bill and also can you just box those pickles to go lol» the server replies«oh man I asked them like 5 times for your pickles and the cooks arent putting them in the window» Wait. You just told me they were in the window and you can go get them for me just let you take the table next to us order first… Right? So now they aren’t and never were in the window? Ok I’m about 98% sure my waiter is a LIAR! He goes back in a hurry then comes back and says this«we are out of pickles» WTF! He tries to comp us some milkshakes for the kids for the inconvenience. our bill $ 26 and with a generous $ 6 tip our tab totals $ 32.But now, 2 days after the fact my husband checks his bank transactions and why does it say steak and shake $ 34? This jerk took the liberty of tipping himself more! I’m in process of disputing the charges. Ass hole!

First of all, in my 40 years of life this was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. EVER. This was our first time eating at this restaurant chain. While we were waiting to be seated a girl(Ashley) finally comes over. She looks lost. We aren’t greeted at all. She doesn’t ask us how many are in our party. She says 6. And that was wrong cause she was counting someone next to us. And we weren’t actually next in line. She takes the correct people to be seated. Then she comes back, bypasses us, and seats the people behind us. We finally get seated. Our server Shawn was nice. I want to say every employee was nice. But every worker in this restaurant looks lost. Like they don’t have a designated job position. Servers are seating people, handing out orders, ringing up payments, it was like a dang circus in that place. Food ordering was the easiest part. But it took us 25 mins to get our food. My order was entirely wrong. Wrong ingredients on my burger AND fries. My child’s burger was also wrong. I did not like the style of the patties or fries ATALL. They are pressed so thin like a cheese steak sandwich. I don’t expect that when ordering a hamburger. The fries were worse than McDonald’s, thinner and harder. The worst fries I’ve ever eaten. They have different fry toppings. It was like those McDonald’s powdered shake packets. So mediocre. So gross. The best thing were the shakes. They were actually cold, thick, and good. They had eye appeal. My booth seat was very uncomfortable. It felt like the springs were broken. The manager Zachary apologized to us for the server being new. But it wasn’t his fault alone. The manager looked just as lost and unorganized as everyone else. The floors and areas by the bar all looked dirty. I get that you are open 24 hrs… but there’s got to be times to clean during non rush. I was sitting right in sight of the kitchen under the grill. It was full of food and trash. It was a 1 ½ hr ordeal. I was ready to throw my wrong order of food on the floor and walk out. I won’t ever be coming back. Someone needs to teach these employees about food service and excellent customer service. Cause there is NONE. And make some better style food. I wonder if much of it is this town and the slow pace of life. And the lack of need for excellence in general.

We enjoy coming here. Friendly staff, good food, and very relaxed place. I’m always amazed by the variety of milk shakes. They have lots of good options for burgers, and only downside is I’m not personally a fan of shoestring fries.

***The milkshake at this Steak ‘n Shake was very reasonably priced; unfortunately, while the flavor of the caramel turtle milkshake was good, it was way too icy*** I have not been to a Steak ‘n Shake in a long time, but I do remember enjoying their steakburgers, which have a unique crispy crust that separates it from most fast food restaurants. I visited this Steak ‘n Shake just for a milkshake though and I was surprised how reasonably priced the milkshake was. I had the caramel turtle milkshake and it had a good flavor. It was thick too, but it was too icy as I could feel the ice crystals come up through the straw. It did not deliver that thick, smooth and creamy experience a milkshake should deliver. The milkshake had a thick layer of hot fudge in it, which once it got into the straw, the shake was almost impossible to drink. I would probably opt for a different and more traditional milkshake flavor(without mix-ins) on my next visit. Service was quick. I remember Steak ‘n Shake delivering more satisfying milkshakes in the past. They were similar to what you would find at a Johnny Rockets, which while I am not a fan of their food, I feel they do produce a fairly satisfying milkshake. Hopefully, my next Steak ‘n Shake experience or your experience here will deliver a more satisfying milkshake. Like most chain restaurants, this Steak ‘n Shake has its own free parking lot. It is easy finding an open space.

I waited quite a while for just a burger and fries, and when it finally came out, it was cold. Not even room temperature, it was cold. The toppings, particularly the pickles looked disgusting.

Fast drive thru, yummy burgers and fries, good milkshakes, and inspiration for my toddlers’ new phrase«oreo cookie ice cream sandwich»! $ 27 for 3 adults and 1 child couldn’t be beat for fast, good food.

Horrible customer service. We waited over 15 min for a table due how busy it was and having a large party(8 including a baby and 4 small children). We were next on the list and several small tables had opened up, some close together, when other smaller parties entered. A waitress who we hadn’t seen seat parties before suddenly came over and escorted a smaller party to a table. My sister-in-law asked why we were still waiting(as there were tables open close to one another) and the waitress responded that we wouldn’t fit at a table for 3(yet, there were other obvious options). The hostess walked up to explain the situation to me and behind her shoulder I heard the other waitress refer to my sister-in-law as a «bitch». At that point I was completely stunned and disgusted. We walked out, I did not want my children to witness such trashy behavior. We went down the road to Texas Roadhouse and spent substantially more on a great meal with a fantastic waitress named Sierra. I will not take my family back to Steak-n-Shake. No thanks.

Great food… but terrible customer service… sat down and our waitress was cleaning and didn’t even rush to greet us… stood at the front door forever to even be seated… had 4 people walk by before even seating us… come on get some better wait staff

Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Food was great as usual, I got the original double steak burger with cheese and French fries. Had a vanilla milkshake for dessert — best milkshakes around!

I’ve been here several times and the food is always good, so is the service. My husband and I got seated right away and the food came fast so can’t complain. I got the birthday cake shake for the first time and oh my God its so good! This is my favorite place for milkshakes, if you haven’t tried them you’re missing out.

Went to steak and shake on a snowy night and the place was fairly busy. It didn’t take long for the hostess to sit us down but it took a good 10 minutes before they even came and took down our order. I guess we got there right before dinner rush because I saw multiple families waiting to be seated right after we sat down. It took 5 minutes before any worker even said anything to them at all, let alone get them seats. My husband and I ordered: two oreo shakes, a mushroom swiss burger with a side of chili cheese fries, and a a guacamole burger with a side of parmasean cheese and herb fries. This was our first time ever eating at steak n shake and a few people we know hyped up the joint. I guess our expectations were too high. The burger patty was extremely bland and the bun seemed soggy for both our burgers. it might have just been what we picked, but I don’t think I’m ever going back. The milkshakes were delicious though. Not too big of a fan for milkshakes either so I was surprised at how good these were. Still not enough for me to go back to though.

Very poor drive through experience on two separate occasions! On the first the lady taking my order was not only rude but apparently she was also deaf, she completely screwed up my order! I ordered an Apple Pecan Grilled Chicken Salad and was given a Grilled Chicken Salad. I also ordered a rootbeer float and when it was handed to me the sides of the cup were sticky and rootbeer was overflowing into my car because some genius put the wrong top on the cup. On the second visit(I returned hoping the first visit was just a fluke.) i ordered a burger, fry, and milkshake. The milkshake was not blended well(but yummy nevertheless), the fries were not hot nor were they seasoned, and the burger along with the foil it was wrapped in was covered with oil. Very annoying. I will not be retuning here for anything other than a shake.

Although this place has died out in popularity, it will always be my favorite place for the PERFECT milkshake! The theme of the restaurant is kind of a diner feel, but without the jukebox music. I highly recommend the Prince burger, with added veggies! The fries are a bit small in portion size, which will the biggest downfall for most customers, so I recommend getting the onion rings as a substitute.

I REALLY didn’t want to return here after my first visit(see previous review for details), but I needed to grab lunch really quickly, and I had just got done shopping at a store nearby. This location seems to have personnel issues sitting people, noticing that customers have come in, etc. I waited around by the door for a little while before I was noticed and seated. The meal was tasty after that, but nothing too great. They were nice enough to give me a Styrofoam cup to take the remainder of my milkshake away in.

I’ll break this down quick style: We waited 12 minutes before anyone brought us menu’s. After we ordered, we waited another 25 minutes before it was brought out. When it arrived, the food was cold. I ordered the classic burger which was smaller than expected for the price. The shakes were actually pretty decent. I don’t expect to be returning as my burger standard has been set unreasonably high by the west coast’s In and Out Burger. I will keep this review short and unmemorable. as was my visit to Steak and Shake… well maybe my visit wasn’t so short.
