I feel compelled to write a review after multiple bad experiences here. I went in with a tick bite. I found a deer tick on my ear and removed the tick and saved it. I felt that the PA I interacted with was very much ho-hum about my symptoms. She said I should be ok; just wait it out. I asked if I could have an antibiotic(as is common protocol for a deer tick bite; the tick was attached for 36+ hours). She said«Oh, sure,» and prescribed it. I was concerned that she didn’t suggest this first. My father came here with an injured wrist. The PA did x-rays of his wrist and told him it was broken; they said to follow up with an orthopedic the next week. He went to the orthopedic this week and they looked at the x-rays from the UNI Urgent Care Center and told him there was no break. They said it was just badly bruised. My sister went in twice for a very bad dog bite after she was attacked by a stranger dog. They truly did nothing; they said she should go home and but Neosporin on it. She still regrets going to this urgent care, because she ended up with bad scars and really should have had stitches. She went back the following day to get antibiotics because the bite was swollen, and they were given to her when she asked — but again, I wonder why they weren’t given the first time. Aside from a variety of misdiagnosises and odd treatment plans, the place looks like it was put together on the cheap. The waiting room is PACKED with these awful red leather(or pleather) couches(they look like they came from some sort of discount warehouse) and the patient rooms are oddly huge. The medical table is literally a wooden table; it is so, so bizarre. I just felt weird there. My husband and I left and he said«why did we go here and not the urgent care in Columbia?» I would LOVE if this urgent care was great, but after four bad visits, I am starting to think this place isn’t in this for the long haul. I hope they step up their game — and that is why I am writing this review. There is a reason that the parking lot here is always empty. Side note: this urgent care costs more than any urgent care I have been to before. I am not sure why.
