This place is worth the drive from Lincoln or even Omaha, if you’re up for a bit of a road trip. Uncle Ron knows how to do it right! I’ve been here about six times, and have always had excellent service, and I think the food just keeps getting better! First up, that AMAZING salad bar! Pair it with the soup, and it’s a meal in itself– with highlights including fresh homemade salads such as Crab, Pea, Broccoli and others– dressings are homemade and tasty as well! Saturday night was a Creamy Potato soup, that was outstanding as well! Most recently I tried a 6 oz Filet Oscar, cooked to perfection with that amazing sear on the outside, it was to –die-for! Meals are reasonable considering it’s a steak house too! Also worth trying, the Red Rooster Fried Chicken, and Jumbo Shrimp. The place itself is full of local history, and entertaining just to walk thru– take a road trip and check this place out!

Amazing small hometown restaurant! Everyone is so nice! Owner offered to uncork a bottle from his person collection. Servers friendly, service great. Food out of this world! Always well taken care of at legends!

After the way the owner of this establishment treated locals during a funeral memorial I will never patronize Legends again.

Decent food and good prices on beer. Thanks for doing offsale as we jave mo has station in Clatonia. Steaks are salt and pepper and cooked to order and good cuts. Pie is excellent. Recommend this place for dinner if you live around the area. Went for Easter buffet once and the buffet is what you expect eggs ham and such but the dessert bar was over the top excellent. Thank you Ron

Great people, great food, and plenty of seating! They have a fantastic Sunday Brunch and an excellent salad bar. The owners have opened the salad bar back up for us when showed up late.

Had a big group come in late on Saturday. They kept the kitchen open for us a little later so we could all eat. We knew nothing about the place going in but it exceeded all of our expectations. Salad bar was very good and the chicken fried steak I had was good as well. After dinner, we hit up the bar and played sand volleyball into the night. Wish that they could of turned on the lights for us but we played in the dark anyways. Great place, good food, good beer and fun times.

I have visited Legends on 2 different occasions. Both visits were several months apart. My most recent visit was a few days ago. A friend recommended this restaurant because of their fried chicken. Unlike most places, Legends fries their chicken in peanut oil. It doesn’t make the chicken feel greasy, but eat bite is full of flavor and not dry. Their salad bar is also amazing with fresh vegetables and homemade dressing. I highly recommend visiting and ordering the chicken dinner with the once through salad bar option.

For folks like us who share a meal, look elsewhere. This eatery is living in the 70’s and charges a shared plate charge. It’s not the cost of it, its the principal of the thing. I won’t pay it. Uncle Ron know’s where he can put his shared plate charge.

If you know the area, you may have done a double-take when you heard Clatonia had a new restaurant. It’s a nice town, but Clatonia is small enough to not have traffic lights, a gas station, or… gasp…a bar. This place is a welcome addition. Legends made me a little nostalgic. I grew up going to restaurants like the Long Branch in Plymouth, the Eagle’s club in Beatrice, and the American Legion in Wymore. Central to each of these restaurants was the salad bar, an experience I’d almost forgotten about. Well, Legends has one, and it’s good. Crab salad, broccoli salad, pea salad, etc. All made fresh daily according to the owner. I’d heard the fried chicken was a popular menu item, so went with that. It was fresh out of the frier, piping hot and juicy. Hard to beat. Service and ambience were also great. Looks like they’ll have a patio and sand volleyball in the summer. Definitely worth a trip from Lincoln or Omaha.
