A perfectly acceptable watering hole with cheap prices and decent food. My husband and I ordered a couple beers, along with some tater tots and cheese sticks. The server was pretty quick but there were only four other people in the place. There are several TVs to watch sports, as well as a jukebox you can control from your phone(TouchTunes) and Keno. I’d been eyeing this place for years, especially since I’m known to get breakfast every-so-often across the street at Clawson Grill. It was nice to finally stop in. A friendly place with good prices and good service. You can’t go wrong.

I love this place. Friendly, great drink prices. Food has something to be desired. Sometimes salty. Sometimes great. The bartender Lindsey is fantastic! Sweet. Detail oriented. Works her butt off. The owner is friendly and makes people feel welcomed! Fun place

Cold beer. Good burger(s?) and that’s about it. We had a party of 6 and each plate was brought out individually and each was brought out anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes apart. Never in my life have I seen this and it is attributable to poorly trained staff — which directly attributable to poor management. The wings were small and over cooked. One sandwich from our table was sent back due to poor quality. Not likely to return, not with all of the other options nearby.

True bar hangout, great for after work. Toast on the house at 8pm every day to honor vets and service men and women, very cool. The food options are creative and taste great. It is bar type food so not very many health options. Overall fun spot.

I love the moose, the place is a good no frills bar with good prices, the food is nothing to write home about, the kid likes the moose balls we think it’s funny but we usually have a good time here and don’t spend a bunch of money, they give a free shot at 8pm play games and the place has a down home up north feel, the service can be hit or miss, but the prices and atmosphere are good, give it a try, but leave the attitude at the door and have a good time.

I visited Moose Winooski’s on a recommendation requested by me from a family member. The criteria was inexpensive food and drinks yet tasty. Overall I enjoyed my experience. The music and crowd was lively. Drinks were tasty, slightly boozy and reasonable priced. Food– I ordered the meatloaf. It was good. Well seasoned and not over cooked. The sides, green beans and mashed potatoes, were interesting(not good). They tasted like they’d been prepared with stale water. My side salad(included w/my meal) was larger than expected, nearly the size of entrée salads at some fast food establishments. A fair neighborhood spot. I’d give the place another try and take a crack at some of their more popular/signature food items.

Very cute inside. Looks like you’re in a log cabin. They have a «family shot» every night at 8pm to honor all the men and women who serve in uniform. Will absolutely go back!

I would still be sitting in this place as I write this review except I’m down the street now writing this review. Went in for the Lions Cardinals game. Showed up at 3 for the game at 4. Ate. Split a bucket of beers. Food was average, nothing special. Wings are pricey for what you get. Pizza was super doughy. Cowboy burger had very little chili on it. Our server had to leave. Another server(our future server) came over to cash us out for the other server and asked us if we needed anything else. We informed her that our plan was to stay for the game. That was the last we saw of her. Over 25 minutes… the ONLY table in the bar. Nobody checked on us once. Our«server» was busy thumbing through a magazine… the entire time. Walked right by her on our way out and she didn’t acknowledge our presence. Not coming back.

This place was mentioned in an article I read on about the best neighborhood bars in Michigan. After our first visit I can say everything I read turned out to be true. Very friendly people. A gentleman offered us his bar seat so both my wife and I could sit down. We spoke with the owner, and participated in their shot tradition… to wit… every evening at 8pm the house buys a schnapps shot for everyone in the place and does a shot toast to all Military Service Members active and former as well as first responders. We did not eat here but saw some dishes being taken to tables. Drinks are cheap, service friendly… hell… everyone was friendly. An asset to Downtown Clawson. Some consider this a dive bar but it is at the nicer end of divey. Just a couple of miles up Main Street from Downtown Royal Oak. From Ann Arbor. Com

First time at the Moose and it was fantastic! My wife had the Patty Melt and I had a burger. Simple but great. The beef had to of been the freshest Angus I’ve had. Lots of flavor! Place was pretty busy with diners of all ages eating… Not just drinking. Service was great and we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Moose himself. Such a nice man. We will be back for sure!!!

Moose’s is great if you want your typical bar food — they have great tots, burgers, pizzas, subs and sandwiches. Nothing too exciting, but their Moose Sauce is great on everything. They do a free shot every night at 7 pm where they honor«the wall» and have a moment of silence. It’s a good atmosphere where you feel like you’re in a hometown place, where you’ve been going for years. What lacks at Moose’s is the waitstaff. Every time I go, I have mediocre service. My first visit, I had to ask the manager to comp my bill because my waitress took 2 hours to bring me chicken strips and tots. When I asked where my food was she said, «Shouldn’t be long. It’s just fried food…» and walked away. I later learned she gave my food to a different table and never owned up to it. That wasn’t the only time I’ve had bad service. Most waitresses seem to have a bad attitude about working there. If I ask for silverware, for them to clean off the dirty table, a refill, or just about anything, it seems to be an inconvenience. The only reason I keep going here is because it’s cheap bar food with plenty of TVs to have a good time with friends. But the staff seriously makes me question if I want to return each time.

Downtown Clawson’s original dive bar. There’s always a «now hiring» sign up outside. I assume it’s because the employees seem like they could quit at any moment. Overall, the food and beer are cheap. And the location is great. Love the tater tots.

Nice place! Fast service and happy people. I came the Saturday before the Woodward Cruise. I expected to be ignored at a busy bar and was treated like a local. Great place. Thank you…

This place is a nicer dive bar. The Christmas lights are always on, the waitresses are pretty attractive for the most part, the service is good, there’s darts and a functional jukebox, etc. The aren’t THAT many tables, though, so it’s more of an intimate setting for a dive. The cheap beers are reason enough to go here.

Most days, I want to pinch myself that I live within walking distance of this gem. It’s a great atmosphere with great prices and great bar food. By no means, please do not expect a fancy ordeal and men– don’t take your first dates here. But if you’re looking for a laid-back neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name, this is your place! Perhaps nothing is better than the prices– cheap, cheap, cheap! I also spend hours daydreaming about the mac and cheese bites. They are amazing! Bonus– free shots at 8! Moose might not be where I start my night or where I would spend my young 20s searching for that special someone, but now that I am married and have bills, I would say 90% of the time my husband and I end up here after going to dinner or an event at a fancier establishment. Once we get our bill at a different place and realize we could have the same thing at Moose for half the cost and half the pressure and zero of the noise of bumping and grinding– we head to Moose. To describe it in one sentence– it’s like hanging out in your finished basement with your friends and family.

A little taste of Wisconsin in metro Detroit! Full of Christmas tree lights, cheap beers, bar games, wooden everything, it’s a solid little dive. And, like real north woods experience, there’s a free shot on the house at 8.

I don’t like writing negative reviews when only visiting a place once. But for me it starts with the electronic thingie they use to measure shots. Boooooo. Going back isn’t going to change the fact that you aren’t going to get more than 1.0 fl oz and not a drop more. I do like all the funny saying behind the bar — we sat and read a lot of them while partaking in our beverage. We didn’t like the fact that the tender and a few of the waitresses talked smack about other servers at the bar. Loudly. So anyone in a 10 ft radius could hear. I love dive bars — I do. But probably not venturing back to this one any time soon.

I have a real soft spot for bars with Moose logos and Moose Winooski’s has its share of Moose Logos. This Clawson gem has a solid menu of bar food ranging from buffalo chicken pizza to a jalapeño-infused burger with moose sauce which made my roommates’ stomach cry. They offer a great selection of domestic and imported beers on tap and in bottles and at reasonable prices too. Certain beers such as Bud Light are always available for $ 2 a pint. Additionally, Moose also has a cool tradition of a free shot of Schnaaps every night at 8 p.m. in honor of veterans. Moose also has trivia nights, plus keno, billiards, darts and a few big TVs. Its not the best bar, or the best place to watch a game, but it isn’t bad either. A great spot to grab a sandwich and a beer.
