Blush & Bashful Artistry

Marie did the makeup of some of my bridesmaids for my wedding and she did an absolute phenomenal job. She made them look very elegant and did a great job catering to their individual needs.
Marie also did the makeup for my little sister who is eleven and was a junior bridesmaid in my wedding and she did a very good job. My sisters makeup was was subtle yet very pretty. It was perfect and appropriate for a preteen.
Marie is not only very organized and professional but she is a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend her if you have a wedding or any special occasion where you want your makeup professionaly done.

I have used Marie for many occasions. She is amazing! Marie really caters to my needs and wants, not to mention every event she has done my make up for I am extremely satisfied with the way my make up turns out and lasts all day. I have been in multiple weddings and had events were i needed my make up done professionally and i always go and will go to Marie. She is a really great find and never disappoints :)

I booked Marie for my wedding and was very happy.
I have really sensitive, oily skin, so I was concerned about break outs as well as my makeup melting off.
Marie and Mariel worked together and we found a foundation that worked for me that looked great. Marie also used false lashes on me which took care of my worries that I would finish the night with raccoon eyes.
The makeup stayed put all night. I actually didn’t have to blot at all, which was a combination of the cool temperature in Emeryville and the great job Marie did.
Both my bridesmaids and myself were very happy with how we looked.

I couldn’t have been luckier to find Mariel and Marie at Blush and Bashful. They provided makeup for my bridesmaids, my grandmother, my aunt, the mother-​of-​the-​groom, and me. Everyone looked beautiful, natural, and elegant – especially my younger sister who never wears any sort of makeup. She looked like the most incredible version of herself. My sister and I had airbrush makeup that lasted all day (and night) and looked flawless. We were able to take advantage of their group discount so costs were quite reasonable. I worked with Mariel to come up with a contract for our group and found that she was incredibly professional and responsive by both phone and email. I did two makeup trials with Mariel to try traditional versus airbrush makeup. She took pictures and incorporated my feedback so that my «day of» makeup was perfect! They came to my Grandmother’s house to do our makeup before the wedding and finished everyone’s makeup on time (if not early). They are nice, personable, and exactly the kind of people you want to hang out with before your wedding!

Mariel seems really nice when you contact her but does not follow through with her contract (she said she would send a replacement or refund my deposit)! She had a family emergency at the last minute and left me high and dry without a replacement. She finally refunded my deposit 3 weeks after my wedding!

I was fortunate to have been able to book Mariel to do my make-​up for two weddings as mother of the bride and mother of the groom and also for a few special events. SHE IS AMAZING! She is extremely talented and an incredible artist. I wish she could do my make-​up everyday!

I hired Mariel to do my make up along with my daughters’ and friends’ make-​up before our night out in the city. Mariel was prompt and very professional. I hardly wear make-​up and always get nervous when others do mine. Mariel took the time to listen and catered my look to exactly what I requested. The high-​end make-​up she used looked great and lasted all night. My daughters and friends were all equally thrilled.
