Caribbean Delight

Wife had the stewed chicken, rice, beans, and plantains. I had the steak and onions, rice, beans, and some maxing meat stuff potato thing.
Awesome to have this place in Clayton — really delicious, flavorful and fresh food.

My NJ pal saw this place as #1 on trip advisor for Clayton restaurants with great ratings. Never heard of the place, but I said what the heck. Stashed alone in the corner of a strip mall with one customer inside I was skeptical. Wooden chairs with tables and the counter seated deep inside with the hot food.
My friend followed my lead and got the Monday night special that was already cooked on the buffet type display. Steak & onions, with sides of white rice & pinto beans. We topped off our choice with the sweet plantains.
The serving was hefty and served in one of those styrofoam take out containers. The food was OUTSTANDING. I could not eat enough of this and really struggled to finish it off. Plenty of rice and beans, beef, accompanied by three mini plantains. My friend half my size was gonna take half of his home but it was so good he struggled to finish his off as well. The meat was seasoned with I don’t know what, but I intend to make this my Monday night location. I wanted to get another plate to go and have for lunch the next day until I was reminded I have to take pal to airport.
Returning Tuesday night with my Dominican friends who have not been here. I was so excited to tell them about it. Pork Ribs are special tomorrow, so I will dive in for that. Don’t want to over hype, but it was that good. They earned my 5 star.
