I was worried when tasked when having to provide food for 10 people in Clayton, AL. Then I found Eva’s! Great country cooking, soul food, helpful and cheery staff — I could not have been happier with the food and service. Eva is right there in the back serving and making sure everyone is happy. Would def recommend the pork chops, fried chicken, mac-n-cheese and the collards are as good as I have ever had. The banana pudding and cakes were outstanding as well!

I eat here when I come down from Chicago to deer hunt in the Clayton area. They have the best country fried pork chops I’ve ever had, and the prices are ridiculously cheap. Friendly people and self serve fountain drinks are a big plus.

I travel all over Alabama and eat at all sorts of restaurants. Eva’s is a diamond in the rough! Best home cooked soul food you will find anywhere. Fried chicken and squash casserole second to none! If you travel through Barbour County and don’t have lunch with Miss Eva and enjoy her awesome food and wonderful staff, you’re the one who is missing out! Can’t wait to get back there myself!
