This is BYFAR the best Goodwill I have gone to in the triangle! I have been shopping at the downtown Raleigh GFC for the past 11 years and never would have thought Clayton ‘s location would outshine downtown Raleigh! Everything is neat, organized and maintained as compared to downtown Raleigh. I have become a regular and loyal customers for business savvy attire and toddler girl clothing!

This is a very clean and well organized Goodwill. I’ve been to many all over the country and this is by far the easiest to navigate. Mostly clothes, not a ton of home/kitchen items, but good selection in clothing and children’s books. Here’s why only 3 stars… There aren’t carts which is kind of disappointing, especially since I had my toddler. Even by myself I usually like to buy pretty huge amounts of things, so it’s hard to do with just a basket. They only take cash or check. Not really a big deal, but I have never been to a Goodwill that had this policy, so I had to leave and get cash and come back to buy my things. There is only one checkout, and I had to wait in line for about 15 minutes. Both times I was there. Most things are flat rate pricing. I’ve also never been to a Goodwill that did this before. It can help you get a good deal, but it can also seem unfair for some items. And I appreciate the excitement when you find something you really want and then you see the tag and know it’s a good deal. It just takes some of the thrill out of thrifting. Overall, it’s a great store and I’ll be going back often. I’m glad I live in an area that has several within reasonable driving distance because you never know what you will find!

I love to go «Goodwill Hunting.» I’m almost hesitant to let this cat out of the bag. My parents live off of 70 near this particular location, and some Goodwills are better than others depending on what you are looking for. For example, if you’re looking for glassware, picture frames, or book, for some reason the one on Hargett Street in downtown Raleigh never disappoints. This one is sparse on the book selection most of the time but has one of the best selections of smaller furniture(bookshelves, plantstands, patio furniture). I’ve had outstanding luck with things like small luggage(Samsonite carry-on with the tags on it for four bucks) and vintage cups/dishes. Your experience may differ, but the fun is in the hunt.
