Mario worked for the Realtor who prepared a house for sale, which I purchased. He’s a nice enough guy, but I met him because he: 1) Agreed to work for the Realtor without getting required permits 2) Ran the kitchen vent hood exhaust into the attic(a fire hazard). 3) Repaired a foam roof with a concrete patch(dumb). 4) Improperly wired outlets(fire hazard). 5) Ran the metal kitchen vent pipe touching knob & tube wiring on both sides(fire hazard). 6) Chopped the middle part of a ceramic chimney out, but left the top part hanging above new drywall, waiting to crash down in any quake(risk of injury, and damage in a quake). 7) Hid a rotten wall behind new tile and a newly built false cabinet back. He built the cabinet into the ruined wall, leaving no sheetrock as required for building code regarding fire. The cabinet back was the wall. No disclosure of this situation was given(fire hazard, mold hazard, structural damage). Definitely a «hack job».
