WARNING! This place is CLOSED! I actually ate here about a week and a half ago(really enjoyed their BLT and Mac ‘n Cheese), happened to drive by today and the place has been gutted. There is now a For Lease sign in the window and there is not a single item left inside the building — even the counters have been ripped out. Talk about fast. Not sure what happened but definitely don’t plan to stop by for a meal!

When I’m tired of eating the gross cafeteria food, I look to this place to give me a change in taste. This place is located conveniently across from St. Mary’s Health Center. It offers all sort of food that’s fairly similar to St Louis bread company, but it has something that St Louis Bread Company don’t: CHEESECAKE!!! Whoohoo! The home made cheesecakes are what keeping me coming back, but can’t blame myself for having a sweet tooth. If you checked in on Unilocal, you can get a coupon for a cheese cake with a purchase of an entrée. Woohoo, can I say deal!!! Service is great, waitresses are friendly and always have a smile on their faces. I come for lunch, but stay for the cheese cake.

The sandwiches here are good, but I don’t recall anything about my experience that was extra memorable. I just remember I liked it. The people there were really nice and helpful.

I have to admit, I judged this place before I actually knew what it had to offer. I live really close to MDC, and always crack jokes about the name. It just sounds so strange to me. I knew they had sandwiches, baked goods, etc., but on Saturday as it was pouring down rain my best friend and I decided to see what they offered for breakfast. The huge, covered parking garage in the back is a big plus in that type of weather! I was so happily surprised when we went in. The staff was so friendly, and there were a TON of tables open(something to definitely appreciate during the busy Saturday brunch hours.) I also could see a bunch of fresh vegetables being cut up behind the counter which was a relief to me… part of my pre-judging was assuming nothing would be fresh. I was proved wrong. There were a bunch of different coffee choices which was also a nice surprise, and my cinnamon-praline blend hit the spot right away. There were also several breakfast choices, but I ended up going with the breakfast wrap. It comes loaded with potatoes, eggs, cheese, and a ton of vegetables. The sides of salsa and sour cream were appreciated, but score some hot sauce and this wrap is fantastic. My roommate ordered«daddy’s omelet,» and while I had to crack up laughing as she said it, she loved it as well. We continued the creepy daddy puns all throughout breakfast. Bonus: They have a wide variety of cookies, cakes, cheesecake, and more to choose from if that’s what you’re looking for. A lot of it would make great hostess gifts because it’s packaged so nicely. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back, and I learned my lesson of why not to judge a book by the cover!

The first time i came here, i fell in love. The chicken salad sandwich and cheesecake are awesome. But the only thing that sucks is that chips are the only side available. Second time i came I got tomato bisque and grilled cheese. The bisque was so greasy i couldn’t even finish and was actually sick later. The grilled cheese was soggy and not even melted completely. Don’t waste your time or money

I’ve been here twice since moving to the area and I love it! The first time was just for cheesecake and something sweet and cold to drink on a sunny afternoon but I went back today for breakfast. I had their croissant sandwich with scrambled egg, ham, cheese, and tomato and it was really good. They weren’t lying when they said their croissants were buttery. They really were and they were light and airy. The flavor went perfectly with the filling. I also had a caramel macchiato blended drink and it was really good. Just what I needed on a warm, muggy morning! As far as the cheesecake goes, I like some more than others. I’ve tried at least 3 from their samplers but how can a cheesecake really go wrong? We’ll leave it at that.

Who’s dissing My Daddy’s Cheesecake? This place is actually good. Admittedly, I have driven by billions of times and disregarded it — mostly because I didn’t think a place with a name as horrible as this could possibly be any good. I was surprised! What’s to like? First of all, I really like their variety. They have a pretty vast array of sandwiches and wraps to please any mood you could possibly be in. Second, they serve quality food. I’m super picky about lunch meat and the roast beef on the sandwich I tried was above par. The bread is also delicious. Finally, the prices are reasonable. Every sandwich came with chips and was under $ 8. I really loved that you could add a piece of cheesecake with any lunch for a dollar off, making it $ 2.99 instead of $ 3.99. This was extremely reasonable compared to what I’ve been paying at the other fancy schmancy bakeries that have been popping up everywhere, and the cheesecake tasted great. They had about 10 different varieties to choose from. Other than the stupid name, I like this place.

Such a cute little shop close to WashU campus: D And when I walked in for lunch, it was hard not to just order something from their beautiful display of desserts for a meal! So many types of cheesecakes, cookies, muffins, and pastries! They offer outdoor seating as well as indoors. We sat inside and enjoyed the view from the large side windows ^^ I really like places that offer the«Pick 2» option, and My Daddy’s Cheesecake offers just that. The Daddy’s Reuben was yums with perfectly pressed marbled rye, flavorful corned beef, and not too sour sauerkraut :) A bowl of warm chili on the side made the hearty meal warming. There was also a pickle spear on the side. For a Pick 2– super filling!

I had been wanting to try My Daddy’s Cheesecake for awhile, but just kept forgetting about it. After buying a living social I finally got around to giving them a try. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I went around 2:30pm on a Monday thinking it would be less crowded since the living social was expiring that week. There were only 2 other people in the place and it took over 20 minutes to get out of there with my to-go order. First the woman taking my order just could not figure out how to ring up my order correctly. It took her 3 tries and in the end she still forgot to make my order to go. One person’s order of 4 items and no special requests is not that complicated people. The whole process was a huge pain in the butt and they did not seem to care. Finally when I got my food home I was again disappointed. Much of my salad was wilted, soggy lettuce and there was not even dressing on it yet. My reuben, which is supposed to be one of their specialties, was also soggy and the bread was burnt. Mind you I went straight home and ate my food right away so I could not have started eating more than 30 minutes after it was handed to me. The cheesecake was the best part of the whole experience, but the pumpkin cheesecake slice was small for the high price and was no where near as good as The Cheesecake Factory. It tasted store bought. Based on my experience I will not be back. The bottom line is if your business is going to partake in living social/groupon you should be prepared for being busy. Also, treat the coupon customers just as you would treat any others as they may or may not decide to return based on their experience.

My review is mainly on the poor treatment I received and a little about the food. I purchased a LivingSocial deal in August 2011, and although I know it expired in February 2012, I was under the impression that the value of my original purchase. According to the fine print on the voucher, «If the state or province where the merchant is located prohibits earlier termination, then the amount you paid for the voucher will expire five(5) years from the date the voucher is issued. The prepaid portion of the voucher will not expire in states and provinces where it is prohibited by law.» I went into My Daddy’s Cheesecake Bakery & Café a few days ago and was confronted VERYRUDELY by the owner and was informed that«LivingSocial just takes the money and runs» and therefore he could not let me use the original amount I paid for my voucher($ 10) towards my purchase. I am VERY disappointed in both My Daddy’s Cheesecake. I feel as though I have been misled and will not be purchasing any type of deals for My Daddy’s Cheesecake nor will I be returning as a regular customer in the future. Although I know many of these deal sites give varying amounts back to their vendors, this is what My Daddy’s Cheesecake signed up for, AND this is not the first time they have gone through a deal site. My friends in the past have purchased deals and actually had the opportunity to use them before they expired so they did not receive this type of treatment. I was expected to pay close to $ 15 for food and drink after having already spent $ 10 on a voucher that was worthless. The turkey sandwich was sloppy-ily assembled but tasted fine. Also, the white chocolate raspberry baby cake was dry while the pumpkin was a little runny/undercooked. I had already placed my order before having the confrontation with the owner. This is not what I would expect at a well-known St. Louis establishment at all. —- UPDATE: In March 2013, LivingSocial(finally) credited my account for the awful treatment I received at My Daddy’s Cheesecake. I’m still so disappointed since it’s known as such a great St. Louis establishment.

I have been tempted to come back since i see all their promos on FB. My first sight was the wonderful desert display. My second was the obnoxious divider they put up to for traffic control. They really need to review the flow for it caused headaches. Lunch was a Turkey on Wheatberry. The bread was perfectly toasted. The flavors of the turkey and other ingredients came through. The sandwich was 5 stars! I am not a fan of chips in general so I end up tossing them. Wish they had a healthy side choice. I had to wait for ice for my water since apparently the ice machine was broken. No ice machine in the back either. The manager had to run to the store to get a bag of ice. I ended the meal with a Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Cupcake. It was too much for one person but that might just be me ;-) I cut it into halves. The chocolate dip was stuck to the paper cup so I could either break some chocolate away and toss it or eat some paper. I chose the former. It was very rich. The filling was a mousse that was very rich. The brownie was nice and soft and fresh. What was fun was watching the people coming in from two entrances and trying to figure out how to work around the wall without cutting in line. It was made even more complicated if people stood in front of the desert display. Overall I was a tad disappointed in this visit. Too much of a hassle to park, to many difficulties to get to the counter to order food and desert. The wait staff was good and the place was clean. This is now more of just-another-place-to-go-for-lunch than a special/great experience.

We tried My Daddy’s Cheesecake due to a Living Social deal, ahhhhhh, the wonders of Living Social. It has definitely broadened my horizons quite a bit. Now for the review. First of all, let me preface this by expressing my disappointment in the stipulations on the Living Social deal. I can only imagine that the company offering the deal had control of the stipulations of the deal. You CANNOT buy a whole cheesecake with the deal. It says«Cheesecake, baked goods and café fare», but you have to read the fine print to find out that you cannot buy a whole cheesecake at a cheesecake place. That alone left a Limburger cheesecake taste in my mouth. Now for the review of the cheesecake. We ordered a selection of cheesecake slices, because after all, we just wanted cheesecake from the cheesecake place. The six slices of cheesecake were pretty good. My wife thought they were a little better than the Cheesecake Factory, but the pricing is still pretty outrageous so that diminished the overall experience for me. It was $ 23 for six small pieces of cheesecake. I know cheesecake tends to be expensive, but when you see the size of the slices it really puts how expensive it is into perspective. I guess they don’t want you to buy a whole cheesecake because they will recoup more on the deal if they do individual slices or inexpensive café fare. I hate to compare apples to oranges, but a HUGE ice cream cake from Dairy Queen is just as tasty to my very picky sweets palate and costs $ 23. Overall, it was an experience, and I love new experiences. I will not be going back, but who knows, this may be your thing more than mine. P. S. I used the word«cheesecake» 15 times. Ha!

Such a cute place near Washington University! I wish we had My Daddy’s Cheesecake in Chicago! Where do I even begin? OK — we went in for lunch and had: Meatball sandwich: Excellent — very moist meatballs — although I wish it had more of Gonnella type of french bread — but it was still excellent! Roast beef sandwich — my son at it all — means it was YUM! And another sandwich I can’t remember — except that it was a chicken breast with an avocado spread — and my BF also finished it all. Also YUM! Each sandwich served with chips and a pickle. This place also serves breakfast items and, you guessed it — CHEESECAKE, as well as muffins, gooey butter cakes and cookies… and BOOZE! I love the idea! They have also have late hours, so you can come in, have a drink and dessert or a sandwich. Awesome! This review doesn’t do My Daddy’s justice. Although the menu of non-sweets is not extensive, it’s enough, in my opinion. We did not leave without getting dessert. We bought several types of cheesecakes, and all were delicious! I only wish I could have brought more home. Every member of the staff we dealt with was very friendly and patient because we made fools of ourselves as we drooled over the dessert cases.

Now that I live less than 5 minutes away, I’ve been coming to My Daddy’s Cheesecake a lot more than I’d like to admit. I’m absolutely in love with their wraps. The BLT wrap is to die for! Oh, and I think it’s just a seasonal thing, but if it’s ever available, try the jambalaya. It’s spicy. It’s flavorful. It comes with a deliciously sweet corn muffin. Get it! Oh, and the desserts… oh boy. You can’t go wrong with ANY of their cheesecake flavors. Try the smores bar and the magic cookie bar. They’re both delicious. And the cookies! Oh, the cookies. So good. Last time I was there, I noticed they had cinnamon raisin bread pudding. I had low expectations, but I ordered it anyway. It wasn’t that great. Too soggy and custard-y for me. Even with the bread pudding fail, I still *heart* My Daddy’s Cheesecake.

OH, DADDY! OH, DADDY! I am so glad I finally stopped and gave you a try. You may cheesecake in your name, but you are so much more then a cheesecake shop. We’re both off on Monday, so it is our day to run errands and have lunch out. I have had MDC bookmarked for awhile and thought it was time to mark it off my list. When we arrived, we were amazed at the vast menu for lunch and the large selection of cheesecakes. Close to two dozen different flavors of cheesecake, how can a fat boy choose? For lunch I had the Daddy’s Combo which includes ½ a sandwich, and your choice of salad or cup of soup. I picked a cup of chili and Roast Beef on Wheatberry as my sandwich. My sandwich was very good, I liked the cut of roast beef and was blown away by Daddy’s wasabi horseradish mayo dressing. Close friends know that I do not like mayo, so for me to say that is a big deal. The cup of chili was so good that when Brad tried it, he had to go order himself a cup. Brad ordered the Tuscany Trio, which was an excellent choice. A flavorful blend of ham, salami, provolone cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion. Then it’s highlighted with herb mustard and lemon pesto mayo on focaccia bread. The sandwich is huge, two diners could share it easily. He took chips as his side, which were Kettle type chips. No bad, but it would have been nice to have hometown Billy Goat. When ordering lunch, they do a great add-on telling you can have a slice of cheesecake for $ 1 off as dessert. What a deal. After we finished our lunch, we were so full we had to take our cheesecake home as a treat while watching TV that night. The two slices we choose were Berry Swirl and Dulce de Leche. Both were very good and if I had to compare them to The CC Factory, Daddy would win. I look forward to going back and experiencing their breakfast menu. Also, I picked up a menu so we can do takeout in the future.

I swear that I drove by this place at least a million times until one day, my boyfriend told me that he discovered his new favorite lunch spot right by his work and home in Clayton and voila, this is how I found one of my new favorite cafes. 5 stars for always having the best service and food on their menu in the last 5 times I have came here for lunch. I love all of the following off their menu, not in any particular order… Their hot wild rice chicken soup, hot oven turkey sandwiches, tomato bisque soup(always hits the spot), grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken salad sandwich, and their many assortment of cheesecake of course. Their regular and orangiscle flavors are my favorite! PS. Their lunch wait for food takes anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, which in my book is the perfect time to get in and get out!

This place was delicious. I had the tuscany trio. Now, I love paninis. A panini is probably my average lunch. This was THEBEST panini I have ever had in my life. I guess they do something special with their mayonnaise. That mayonnaise owned my mouth, and probably the rest of my day and most likely now my next two hours. Do you believe in love at first sight? I don’t really know what I think about it, but I’m pretty sure tasting that sandwich for the first time was probably a similar emotion for me. …anyway, the service was incredible. The place was hip, clean and a little artsy. Their pastries were beautiful and even though my friend and I were full from our lunches, we had to get a slice of cheesecake — of course. You’ll know once you’re there. You’ll have to get cheesecake too. It’s inevitable. Also, if you get a meal, you get a dollar off your slice of cheesecake should you choose to forego. Thanks My Daddy’s Cheesecake! You guys are the best!

atmosphere [3 stars] Regular café style with outdoor seating as well. service [3 stars] price [3 stars] One cheesecake slice is $ 3.29, and the size is about half a Cheesecake Factory slice! I guess that kind of makes sense since Cheesecake Factory slices are about double that price, but that’s a bit expensive for me. food [3 stars] I came with my cousin to try the cheesecake and see what kind of food they had. After looking at the menu, we decided not to eat there. The food just didn’t seem appetizing: plain, ordinary café food. If I wanted better café food, I could’ve just went down the street to Bread Co.(though I’m a bit biased since I grew up eating Bread Co.) The baked goods, however, looked more appealing so my cousin got a slice of the Berry Swirl and I got a slice of the Dulche de Leche and a Lemon Cream Cheese Muffin. The cheesecake was good, but not amazing. It was pretty flavorful and not too sweet, but the texture wasn’t very soft and creamy. I’ve definitely had better cheesecake. The muffin was pretty good, very soft and moist, but not very lemon-y or flavorful. All and all, the bakery items were good, but not worth the 25 minute drive there.

I come from a long line of cheesecake making Mommy’s and Grand-Mommy’s, so I decided to try Daddy’s Cheesecake. With a name like My Daddy’s Cheesecake, I was expecting the cheesecake to be homemade awesomeness. Boy was I wrong! All we wanted was cheesecake. We got a slice of Key Lime(a specialty of my Mom’s) and Peanut Butter. I don’t know what how they store the cakes, but our pieces were smooched on the top and partially frozen… or so cold it was on the verge of freezing. Aside from that, the cheesecake was dry. When I cut into it, it crumbled because it was so dry. I like my cheesecake moist and creamy, this was the opposite. The flavor of the Peanut Butter one wasn’t super rich in flavor, it flopped on the flavor meter. Now, the Key Lime is my Mom’s specialty that she makes with fresh squeezed limes… and the flavor is unmistakable. My Daddy’s Cheesecake Key Lime tasted like artificial lime flavoring, it was awful! While we were sitting on the patio with the pup, poking our dry, flavorless, fake cheesecake… we saw all the delicious looking meals others were being brought out. As good as the food may look, I don’t see us going back. My Daddy’s seemed a little overly processed and corporate to me. Cheesecake Factory does the total package 300% better! Very disappointed.
